The Blizzak LM005 is Bridgestone's Performance Winter/Snow tire designed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans, and CUVs looking to maintain their vehicle's appearance, handling, and mobility during the winter months by providing optimum traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads.

The Blizzak LM005 features an advanced rubber compound using Bridgestone's high-silica NanoPro-Tech™ technology, molded into a directional pattern, including 2D and 3D sipes for excellent surface adhesion and optimum dry grip and braking traction. The sipe configuration also provides for improved acceleration, shorter stopping distance, and increased lateral stability when cornering in various wet and wintry conditions. Strong lateral voids enhance the evacuation of water for hydroplaning resistance, while zig-zag grooves trap snow and provide biting edges for additional winter grip.

The tire's internal structure includes a single-ply polyester casing, two steel belts, and a nylon reinforcement for increased steering response & high-speed capability.

Blizzak LM005 winter tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

To help drivers know when it's time to replace their winter tires, Bridgestone molds Winter Wear Indicators (also known as Snow Platforms) into the Blizzak LM005's main tread grooves. The Snow Platforms identify when winter traction will be reduced due to the tire's tread wearing down to the point where the remaining depth becomes less effective at digging through snow, gripping icy roads or coping with slushy conditions.

Install Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 tires in sets of four only.

Due to the traction capabilities of the Blizzak LM005, Bridgestone recommends using Blizzak LM005 tires in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 Reviews

Customer ratings showcase the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 as an outstanding winter tire, with snow traction (9-10 scores) and deep snow performance frequently praised as confidence-inspiring. Wet traction and hydroplaning resistance earn strong marks (7-10), while dry handling remains reliable for winter conditions. Comfort receives positive feedback for smoothness, though a few note moderate road noise. Ice traction shows variability-most rate it 7-10, but occasional lower scores (3-5) suggest mixed experiences on sheer ice. Treadwear opinions split: some report excellent durability (9-10), while others note faster wear (0-5), a common trade-off for aggressive winter compounds. Ideal for drivers prioritizing snow dominance and balanced wet/dry winter performance.

...Performance so far in both warm and cool weather and in a driving rainstorm at highway speed has been very good...

The price was a bargain at aournd $100 each. Performance so far in both warm and cool weather and in a driving rainstorm at highway speed has been very good. Very quite for a snow tire; given how quite the running noise is in a Telsa Model S it would be obvious if noisy. Looking forward to testing in the snow this winter. We typically don't use this set of wheels/tires during warm weather.

...They definitely made a HUGE improvement with snow (brake regen off) and deep water traction...

Ran these tires longer than I should have. Installed November to July. Upon dismount the rear tires were treadless and the fronts are at 50%. The warm weather, RWD and the weight of an EV really challenged these tires. Turn ins were a bit sloppy off the apex, but straights and braking we’re reasonably good. The tires were taken to max speed rating on several straights and feedback was always great, in any weather. They definitely made a HUGE improvement with snow (brake regen off) and deep water traction, but the overall weight of an EV helps with that too. 8.5:10

Literally the best snow Tire to purchase. We have a large hill in our area that people always get stuck. We drove up as if we were driving on dry road.

Best winter tire I have owned. We spend much of the winter in Tahoe at 6,800 ft elevation and we get a lot of snow most winters. The Blizzak is the best winter tire I have had including Pirelli Scorpions, Goodyear ICE and Michelin Pilot Alpin 5. The tire loves deep snow around the house as well as light snow on the freeway in and out of town. Ice, it does as well, or better, than the others (Scorpion was an excellent ice tire) tires I have had.

Dry weather, traction is good but I take it easier on them as I know they are not going to wear as well and I change them out every year in the fall and spring. Overall, highly recommend this tire for anyone in snow country. I only wish they made this tire for my Cayenne Turbo.

...Quiet, comfortable and grip that makes you feel like you are driving on a summer day...

Have purchased many sets of Blizzacks (as well as other snow tires like Nokian Hakkapeliitta's and Dunlop Winter Maxx) and in general they are my favorite dedicated snow tire. Quiet, comfortable and grip that makes you feel like you are driving on a summer day. These tires are more performance and less aggressive that recently purchased Blizzacks but they are perfect for the little GTI around town. Can save the DM-V2s for the suv that goes to the mountains.

...The road noise is expected as the V tread type design along with the aggressive snow tread, it's not terrible, just turn the volume up 1 on the radio :-)...

Tire has been great... Had 3 snow storms/ice storms here in NY and never feared going anywhere. It's almost like driving all seasons on a sunny warm day. Feel safe and confident in the snow and ice. The road noise is expected as the V tread type design along with the aggressive snow tread, it's not terrible, just turn the volume up 1 on the radio :-). Would buy this tire over and over again. The size is an optional size, going a little wider with less profile, which is fine, no issues with rubbing or anything so all good.
