User feedback reveals the Bridgestone Dueler H/T D687 delivers strong dry traction (scores 8-10) with responsive handling, paired with a smooth and quiet ride that earns consistent praise. However, treadwear ratings show significant inconsistency, with many reports of premature wear despite some high-scoring outliers. Winter traction underperforms for an all-season tire, with frequent low scores (0-6) in snow and ice conditions. Wet traction raises concerns, including hydroplaning risks and reduced grip in heavy rain. While comfortable for highway use, its mixed performance in critical all-season categories may limit appeal for drivers prioritizing year-round capability.

...- good dry longitudinal and cornering traction...
The Bridgestone Dueler H/T D687 (235/60 R16)was the OEM tire included in the optional alloy wheel (16x6.5) package offered by Toyota on the 2004 Rav4 4wd "L" version. I bought the vehicle new from the dealer with this wheel/tire package installed. Vehicle has been taken to that same dealer for all service per OEM recommendations. I am an average driver, all on-road driving in suburban/urban setting.
For the first 37,000 miles, the Duelers exhibited:
-good dry longitudinal and cornering traction
-very responsive handling -- quick vehicle yaw and lateral g response to steering inputs
-less vehicle roll during cornering than expected from Rav4, yet ride quality was good
-acceptable wet traction, a little hydroplaning
-poor snow/ice traction
-acceptable to low noise level
At 37,000 miles, I began to notice a lot of noise that was linearly related to vehicle speed. At 41,000 miles, fearing a drivetrain issue, I took the vehicle for service. The Toyota dealer told me the Duelers were slightly "cupped" causing the LOUD road noise. The tires were not visibly cupped that I could see, were worn evenly, and had been rotated on Toyota schedule by the dealer. I guess the noise is just what happens with wear = COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
At 41,000 miles, the Duelers exhibited:
-75% wear which disappointed me
-worse snow/ice traction
-more hydroplaning
-LOUD noise (howl like a rabid pack of wolves)
-dry traction, handling, and ride were the same
It was difficult to carry on a conversation, my friends would ask me what was wrong with my car, and my boyfriend almost left me. I suffered with this terrible howling noise until 44,661 miles, when I had a set of Avon Ranger TSE tires (215/70 R16) installed. Now I love my Rav4 again. THE END

...The best feature is these are a very quiet. Only recently I've noticed they are getting noisier as with all tires as they wear down...
These tire came from the factory. The dealer filled them with nitrogen nad I have no complaints about this tire. At 40K there might be another 5k-8k of miles left. In S. Florida we have lots of rain and they perform quite well. The tires were only rotated twice in the last 2.5 years. The best feature is these are a very quiet. Only recently I've noticed they are getting noisier as with all tires as they wear down. I drive on I-95 to Orlando at 340 miles round trip once or twice a month. The wife drives it to work 12 miles one way on locate roads. This tire is not a stock item at the retailers so If I decide to get a set I'll have to order it here. If not I'll probably settle for the T/A 's.

...Fourth year, the tires don't even handle well anymore in rain. Without too much steering angle the front tires can break loose. Also a note to many drivers, this tire design doesn't prevent hydroplane when running over patch of water. The tires do not provide good feedback when the roads are wet and even semi-wet...
First two years the tires were good, wear is average. Third year, the tires started to lose grip on snow even the tread depth was between 7/32 to 8/32. Not sure the cause but all of sudden the performance dropped significantly. Fourth year, the tires don't even handle well anymore in rain. Without too much steering angle the front tires can break loose. Also a note to many drivers, this tire design doesn't prevent hydroplane when running over patch of water. The tires do not provide good feedback when the roads are wet and even semi-wet. Finally I pulled these tires off my car after 30K miles and it is still got 5/32 to 6/32 of rubber left.
...When driving on wet roads at highway speeds it feels like one is driving on ice. IMHO these tires are terrible...
These tire are brand new. When driving on wet roads at highway speeds it feels like one is driving on ice. IMHO these tires are terrible. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for anything. Caveat Emptor.
