Off-Road All-Terrain tires are for drivers who want a combination of customary on-road capability, enhanced off-road abilities and all-season versatility, including traction in light snow. Off-Road All-Terrain tires branded with the M+S and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbols are sometimes used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on light and medium-duty 4WD trucks, pickup and sport utility vehicles.

O.E. Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four, or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the 3PMSF provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Wet traction this tire is actually slightly better than the KO2. Specifically when launching from a stop, these do not spin as easily as the KO2's...

So I decided to switch from my previous KO2's to this Territory MT tire and stayed with the same 315/70/R17 size mainly because of the weight. These tires are about 10 lbs lighter per tire as compared to the Class C load KO2's. A few items of note off the bat. These tires while the same size are not as wide and not as tall as the same size KO2. Makes my speedo off by 1 mph at 75 mph so not a huge difference.

Compared directly to the KO2's dry traction is identical. Wet traction this tire is actually slightly better than the KO2. Specifically when launching from a stop, these do not spin as easily as the KO2's. For winter (which really for me is the most important rating), these tires seem to have better bite than the KO2's in a straight line. However, when cornering the KO2's are actually slightly better I would say. Ride wise I would say these ride a little softer then the KO2's. From a noise perspective, I would say that the Territory MT's are slightly quieter than the KO2's when both were new. We'll see how they do as the miles add up as my old KO2's definitely got louder over time.

Bottom line is these are very comparable to KO2's in the metrics that I have driven them in. There are slight differences as noted above, but a good all around tire. Unfortunately I don't have any good experience with mud or rock specifically with these tires or the KO2's so I won't comment on those areas specifically.

The wet traction performance is excellent, it makes for a good partner in rain, and I don't have to worry about not being able to stop...

The Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT is an excellent O.E tire for the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado 4WD ZR2. The MT designation on this tire means maximum traction, not mud-terrain. It is more aggressive than an all-terrain tire, but less aggressive than a dedicated mud-terrain tire. Maximum Traction tires produce more road noise than an all-terrain tire, but less than a dedicated mud-terrain tire. The dry traction performance of the Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT is excellent and it makes me feel really confident when I am driving down the road. Wet traction performance is also excellent, it makes for a good partner in rain, and I don't have to worry about not being able to stop. Light snow performance is great, the Wrangler Territory MT gets great traction, and I don't have any traction issues when accelerating or braking. I can drive in light snow even in 2WD. Deep snow traction is good, the tread blocks do a great job with collecting snow, and giving me that snow on snow traction, the tread blocks also do a good job keeping themselves clean so that traction is always available. I have not had a chance to test the Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT off-road, but I imagine they would do just as good on-road as they do off-road. I love the Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT, and I will be getting them again.

...Great look and do better with hydroplaning...

Replaced a set of BFG ko2 with these. Better snow traction. Just as quiet. Seem to be wearing very well. Have 315/70/17 on lifted jeep. Great look and do better with hydroplaning. BFG were getting noisy after 30 k miles. Will uodate later when put more miles. So far so good.

Great tire in snow. I have had all the MT tires made and these are the best in snow ever. The 2 ply sidewall people complain about helps ride quality and MPG vs E rated tires. With the wheeling I have done they have held up well.

...Deep Snow performance is better than average but they pack-up easily and tend to loose confidance in hard packed snow-covered roads. They are better than all-terrain tires but NOT a snow tire...

After finally getting some snow here in Wisconsin I can now say I understand why These tires did NOT receive the 3Peak Mountian rating. Deep Snow performance is better than average but they pack-up easily and tend to loose confidance in hard packed snow-covered roads. They are better than all-terrain tires but NOT a snow tire. They are really good in nearly every other area, mud is so-so. Rock, dirt, gravel and sand these are way better than you would think based on the smaller tread pattern. Road manners are great and the noise level is like an old-school snow tire. You can hear them, they are not loud, there is no hum, just a light vague road noise. Noise is getting less-noticable as they have worn in.
Ride quality is awesome and they air down and hold shape great.

...These tires offer great traction wet and dry, they offer great grip in snow and for moderate off roading they're an all around tire...

This is the second set of these tires I’ve had on our Bronco. After some heavy off roading on sharp rock the original set were pretty chunked and I thought we should replace three and move one to the spare. These tires offer great traction wet and dry, they offer great grip in snow and for moderate off roading they’re an all around tire. Ford did a great job working with Goodyear on choosing a nice balanced OEM tire package for Bronco. These tires aren’t terribly loud and despite what others have said, I haven’t experienced the rock pickup or rock slinging people talk about. It’s a great tire and when our Wrangler is ready, I’ll probably buy these over the Yokohama Geolander X AT’s we have now.

...These Territory MT (Maximum Traction) tires are sure footed in dry and wet...

Keeping in mind the tires my Jeep came with was a highway tire and were terrible in rain and snow, so any tire with more tread is an improvement.
Stock Wrangler SR-A highway tires lasted 62,000 miles and were quiet.
These new Territory MT tire has a tread pattern more like the old school snow tires, so they sound like the old school snow tires.
They sing a little on paved roads at all speeds, not like the growl of mud tires, more like a higher pitched ring.
Not loud at all but there is more noise than a passenger car style highway tire.
This is not a deal breaker by any means, ALSO as the tires are wearing in, the tire noise is getting less noiticable.
These Territory MT (Maximum Traction) tires are sure footed in dry and wet. Dusting of snow on pavement they do as well as any tire, not worse or better.
Dirt and sand they are awesome, mud they are just above average.
They pack-up mud a little more than a true MT tire, but that is expected with smaller tread blocks.
Deep snow they are really good, feel positive and connected, but these still DO NOT carry the 3 Peak Mountian snow rating. Weird, this may mean as they wear through the tread depth, the snow handling may suffer.
Be real here, any tire with agressive tread will make noise, these are not loud. They perform well and ride great.
They are near perfect for my Jeep. If you are looking for a non-payload tire in a truck size, these are exellent.

...Better ride - softer feeling. Running at 35psi, these tires feel softer than the KO2s absorbing bumps better.

Lightweight Hybrid Tire

Saw these tires on the new Bronco and was intrigued. Running the 285/70/17s on my 2010 GX460. Pervious tires were BFG KO2s. These seemed like a more aggressive alternative to the normal AT choices. More of a Ridge Grappler or Open Country R/T competitor than KO2 or AT3W.
I was intrigued by 2 key specs of this tire:
Weight - These tires are very lightweight given their intended purpose 45lbs compare to the BFG KO2s (51lbs) or the Falken AT3Ws (63lbs)
Tread Width - 8.3 - compared to the BFG KO2s (9.4) and the Falken AT3Ws (9.6)
Below are my thoughts on these tires as compared to my previous BFG KO2s
Advantages
1. Noticeably better acceleration and braking (due to the lighter weight)
2. Better ride softer feeling. Running at the same street pressure 35psi, these tires feel softer than the KO2s absorbing bumps better.
3. Mud These are not true mud tires, but they handle light mud better than the KO2s and I suspect better than AT tires in general.
Drawbacks
1. Noise They are quiet around town but at highway speeds they sing. The noise is higher pitched than the typical mud tire howl, and it can be distracting. I never noticed the KO2s through the quiet cab of my Lexus, but these tires draw attention to themselves. If I commuted long distances at highway speeds, this would be a deal breaker for me.
2. Durability? This is pure speculation here as I have not had any issues, but I suspect that the benefits of the lightweight construction of this tire result in a tire that is less resistant to punctures as compared to some of the more heavily constructed competitors. Those soft sidewalls that soak up potholes and expansion joint jitters so well on-road are most likely a liability off-road.

The ride and comfort is very good... Noise level at slower speeds can be a bit loud...

The ride and comfort is very good, the wear and tear is unacceptable. Under rain and icy conditions they loose traction easily. They perform well under rough terrain such as mud, sand, gravel and rocky roads. Noise level at slower speeds can be a bit loud. Overall, it's a good performing tire.

...They are a little noisier than my Blizzaks. But I expected that with tread pattern...

I run these as summer tires and waited til I thought winter was over to install them. Have really only had a little snow exposure with them. So far there isn’t anything I dislike. They are a little noisier than my Blizzaks. But I expected that with tread pattern. They look good and I trust the name is why I purchased. No regrets.

...Looks are the best thing about them and tred wear was quite good...

Two worst complaints: Very significant tire noise at 20-35 mph. Unpleasant tendency to hydroplane.
Otherwise liked these OEM tires were alright. Looks are the best thing about them and tred wear was quite good. However, generally disappointing performance. Had higher expectations. Kept them on for over 26k miles but very unlikely to purchase them again.

...The Territory is up there with the very best in dry, wet, snow, and off-road traction, it's in the quieter half of the spectrum of off-road AT's, and treadwear is at least average if not slightly above for the class...

In its price class, this tire absolutely dominates. I've seen so many negative reviews comparing the Territory MT to tires that cost $100 more each. I've used many of those tires myself and I don't see a reason to spend the extra money. The Territory is up there with the very best in dry, wet, snow, and off-road traction, it's in the quieter half of the spectrum of off-road AT's, and treadwear is at least average if not slightly above for the class. Unless you are some kind of tire snob who competes in the yearly "Tire Nationals" and need the absolute best at any cost, just get the Territory MT and save yourself like $400 on a new set of tires. I personally will be using this tire on both my off-road vehicles until something comes along with a comparable price and performance.
