The iON evo AS SUV is Hankook's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire engineered for the drivers of electric vehicles (EVs) in their larger form-factors such as pickup trucks, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. Designed to provide a comfortable, quiet driving experience alongside reliable traction in all weather conditions, even light snow.
Featuring Hankook's ProDurable tread compound optimized and developed especially for the heavier weight of EVs, the iON evo AS SUV creates uniform pressure distribution for even contact with the road’s surface. The naturally quiet operation of EV motors requires a dedication to noise management at every step. Rigorous adjustment of the tread pattern's pitch count and variation in conjunction with knurling patterns carved into the grooves to minimize sound are all ultimately assisted by a sound-deadening layer of foam for a low-volume experience. 3D GripKontrol sipes have been strategically applied to aid the four longitudinal grooves in resisting hydroplaning in the wet, and, if weather demands, offer additional biting edges for reliable snow traction.
The iON evo AS SUV's internal construction features a polyester body ply with a high turn-up for enhanced sidewall stiffness and durability to handle the additional vehicle weight of EVs and SUVs. Twin steel belts provide a stable base for the tread. The dual-ply polyamide reinforcement layer ensures predictable handling and high-speed performance.

Popular Tires for America's Most Popular Vehicles – 2025 Test 8(34:04)
The Crossover, or CUV, is hands-down the most popular vehicle in America. Last year in our CUV test, we used the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to test all-season and all-weather touring tires. This year, the field expanded to include all-terrain and performance truck products, representing the full range of tires drivers are installing on these vehicles. Obviously, with a test this diverse, it’s not so much about which one tire rises to the top, but rather how each category brings its own strengths to the table. When comparing multiple tires from one category, it's how they stack up against each other. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Test 8!
Drivers consistently rate the Hankook iON evo AS SUV as a strong performer in its Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season category, with standout scores in comfort (frequent 9-10 ratings) for its smooth, quiet ride. Treadwear earns praise for durability, with many perfect scores noting long-lasting performance. Winter traction shows confidence in light snow (7-8 range), though some note limitations on ice. Wet traction impresses with reliable hydroplaning resistance (8-10 scores), while dry handling receives consistent 8-10 marks for stable cornering and responsive steering. A few lower winter scores suggest prioritizing moderate snow use over severe conditions, aligning with its all-season design.

...Wet and dry conditions the tire does very well for an all season...
I saw these tires that fit on my E-Tron and thought to give them a try. My car only has 29K on it and the original Continental LX were riding rough and felt like they weren't doing that well anymore even though 5/32 tread left.
Pulling away from the tire shop the smoothness and noise level was far better than the Continentals ever were. I got these right after Christmas 2024 and have taken them on 3 road trips about 2500 each. They are wearing evenly and now measuring an 8.5/32. Sometimes I accelerate and these Hankooks are not being torn up. Wet and dry conditions the tire does very well for an all season. No testing in the snow yet, but I would imagine they would be decent for an all season tire.
Would I buy them again? Absolutely. These Hankooks are a great fit for my Audi e-Tron

...The deep circumferential grooves give them good wet behavior, although I haven't tested this in a downpour, only in moderate rain...
I am really pleased to date. The tires are definitely quieter than stock, which is something you notice on an EV. Ride quality seems about the same as far as my uncalibrated seat can tell. The deep circumferential grooves give them good wet behavior, although I haven't tested this in a downpour, only moderate rain. They track nice and straight, and seemed stable under braking. I don't have enough mileage on them to comment on whether they are substantially better or worse than stock on EV range. But so far, I'm quite happy with them.

Very quiet and comfortable. Great tires in the summer and in rain. Have not tried it in snow as I have winter tires.

Customers report strong winter traction with many 8-10 scores in snow and deep snow. Ice traction shows variability but includes high ratings, reflecting solid all-season capability for crossover/SUV use.

...Grips better than I was expecting in snow/ice during winter conditions in Colorado!...
This has been the best EV tire I've ever had the privilege of driving on! Where do I start? It reduces cabin noise. It grips the road better than any EV tire I've driven on! (The car hugs the road in corners confidently!) Almost grips the road as good in rain as it does in dry conditions! Grips better than I was expecting in snow/ice during winter conditions in Colorado! Grip champion of stoplight sprints! (No wheel slip even with traction control turned off while mounted on lightweight rims!) Great tire overall and without a doubt I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for their next EV tire! (Note to EV hypermilers: Inflate tires to 42-46psi for best possible range) Tire max pressure is 50psi

...Have put about 500 miles on them, including in 4" snow and a 1" rain, and I've been very pleased with traction...
Replaced the OEM Kumho Crugen HP71, after 29K - sill had maybe 5K left before I hit the wear markers, but had to plug one of them at 27K, so was looking for replacements. These tires have good reviews on Tesla forums (especially for range), and got a good price, so I pulled the trigger. Have put about 500 miles on them, including a 4" snow and a 1" rain, and I've been very pleased with traction. They are REALLY QUIET (even quieter than the OEM tires) Ride-wise, they do transmit more road imperfections, but not like a night/day difference... just more than the OEM tires. They are 55 series (so a shorter sidewall), so with less tire to absorb the bumps, this is to be expected. I find these more responsive than the OEM tires, but most of my driving has been between 25 and 50 degrees, so I suspect they'll soften as the weather warms-up.

...Very quiet, good traction in wet or dry...
Noticeably the quietest tired I've owned. I hated the OEM tires that came with my Tesla. Lasted <10k miles. So I upgraded the rear suspension camber and toe arms. Then I got 50k miles on a set on non-EV tires. They were good tires, but loud. Now these are 100% different. Very quiet, good traction in wet or dry. No oily break in period. I hope to get 50-60k miles on these too. When the fronts need replacing, I'll be going with Hankook too.

On dry pavement tires are so comfortable I easily do full speed limit of 85 even on older road surfaces. Tire has no problems at max speed of car. Miles/kw efficiency is actually better than factory tires. Getting over 4/kw. IMO this tire is significantly better than factory, with no additional negatives. I have not yet been in a gully wash, nor winter ice/snow

So far I'm much happier with these tires over the Continental ProContacts (which were horribly rough, and only lasted 20k miles.) The ride has greatly improved (potholes and bumps are softened), which was my second biggest complaint of the Continentals. The other being tread wear. We'll see how these do over time. I haven't noticed any shift in range, but probably wouldn't notice that without driving longer distances. I did a ton of research before buying, and while these are new tires without much for user reviews, I was encouraged by some YouTube video testers and their feedback, and the few user reviews I could find on Reddit. My Dad switched to Pirelli P Zero's on his Model 3, and they are a much better ride as well, but not available in the size I needed. So far, these seem to be comparable. My husband drove in snow, and said he had no issues, so I'm looking forward to testing that out myself. Definitely happy so far!

Tire has been great so far. No loss in range from the previous OEM (minus the sealant goop) … two thumbs up from me so far. The noise is about the same if not a bit quieter on these new tires. Not the cheapest but a decent deal. Hope they last a while!
