The ADVAN Sport EV A/S is Yokohama's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for electric vehicles (EVs). An iteration on the groundwork laid by the ADVAN Sport A/S+, Yokohama aims to retain everything drivers already expect from that tire's all-season performance, while tuning it for the specific expectations and needs of electric vehicles. Designed for pulse-quickening performance alongside an enjoyable ride and noise comfort, the ADVAN Sport EV A/S delivers traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even light snow.
The ADVAN Sport EV A/S uses a proven, asymmetric pattern molded from an updated all-season compound that already strikes a balance between a quiet ride, silica-enhanced grip, and energy-saving low-rolling resistance. Performance remains a key part of the design, with substantial outboard shoulder blocks taking advantage of the asymmetric tread design to boost lateral traction and control during aggressive cornering and lane change maneuvers. A trio of straight circumferential grooves aid the tire's high-silica wet grip by evacuating water to lateral channels for hydroplaning resistance. The inner rib's Z-shaped tread blocks, in conjunction with wavy sipes throughout, create biting edges for enhanced grip in slippery conditions. Winter grip is further enhanced by the inboard serpentine groove for greater snow-to-snow traction.
Internal construction of the ADVAN Sport EV A/S uses twin steel belts joined with a reinforced, two-ply polyester casing fabricated for the greater demands of electric vehicles while maximizing comfort. A nylon reinforcement ply caps the tire’s structural design for stable high-speed behavior and worry-free handling.

Yokohama Reviews
Customers think the Yokohama Geolandar G91F delivers confident dry traction (scores 7-10) and a smooth, quiet ride, with many praising its comfort. Treadwear receives positive feedback for longevity, though some report variability. Wet performance is generally reliable, though a few note hydroplaning concerns in heavy rain. Winter traction is a notable weakness, with low scores (0-5) in snow and ice conditions, making it less ideal for severe winter use. As a highway all-season tire, it excels in dry and wet conditions but falls short for drivers needing consistent winter capability.

I don't understand all the negative reviews on this tire. I have not driven it in snow or ice but on dry asphalt and wet it does a great job. Down here in Florida we get daily rainstorms, not just a drizzle but torrential downpours. I have no problem with hydroplaning whatsoever. The Crosstrek feels stable and planted at all times and it has always been a comfortable ride. I've also taken it on some trails and obviously would not rate it a 10 on gravel, sand, or rocky surfaces but how much can you expect from an all season highway tire? Comfortable ride, little road noise, not bad for oem tire.

...They seem to have good grip and don't spin in wet when accelerating from stop...
I "upgraded" this tire to well rated by CR and tirerack Continental Purecontact. So this review is how Yokohama rides compared to Continental tire.
Compared to grand-touring Continental Purecontact Yokohama G91F rides softer, is less noisy and does not make loud "thud" sounds when going over larger potholes. Steering is predictable but not responsive. There's a lag when turning probably due to softer wall but tracking is predictable even when cornering at higher speeds. They seem to have good grip and don't spin in wet when accelerating from stop. Overall I thought replacing Yokohamas was going to be an upgrade all around, yet I found that they do offer qualities that surpass highly rated Continentals.
One thing I wanted to mention is that Yokohama G91F appear to roll at least as well as LLR Continentals, although I did not have much time to test that.

The Yokohama Geolandar 91 tires are the original tires on my Subaru Forester 2014 and I have driven on them 60K km so far. I bought my car in March 2013 and they performed very well in the first two winters of 2014 and 2015. I live in Ottawa and we have a lot of snow in the winter. Considering the tires are all-season, they were great in the first two winters. This winter I had to drive with caution as the tread was 5/16 in the beginning of December but I decided to keep them till they are completely worn out. With such tread it was not a nice drive in the deep snow or on the icy roads. The tires are great in the wet conditions. I like Forester's acceleration performance and the tires are very stable while cornering. However they are my first tires which have the sidewall cracks that appeared at around 45-50K kilometres, I had before Michelin and Toyo tires on Mazda 3. These tires have done nice job as all-season tires and the only issue is the treadwear performance. If I make on them 70K km it will be nice and in the range of other rivals tread wear warranty terms. I will replace them this year with another Yokohama tires , probably with Avid Ascend that recommended by the dealership service centre.

Most customers rate the Geolandar G91F's dry traction highly, with scores mostly 9s and 10s. Even 7-8 ratings reflect reliable highway performance, offering responsive handling and confident grip in dry conditions.

I actually was surprised at how well the tires preformed on dry roads. They hold the car steady in tight, fast cornering and accelerate and break very well...
I did not purchase these tires from Tire rack. They came on my newly purchased 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. I actually was surprised at how well the tires preformed on dry roads. They hold the car steady in tight, fast cornering and accelerate and break very well. I was VERY surprised and SHOCKED how well they handled in rain whether it was light, medium, or a down-pour. I was coming off an off ramp...maybe to fast since my confidence driving in heavy rain went way up. I thought to myself "oh man, this is not gonna be good!". My tires didn't slide out one bit. Currently, we have had 15 inches of snow over the past few days in the Seattle/Lake Stevens area, so you may want to know, can they handle snow, or are they crap? I am VERY surprised and shocked of what I got out of them so far. I can roll through 3-6 inches of snow with no problem, and plowed through 15 inches of snow with ease. I'm trying to figure out if it's the tires, or the Subaru. I can drive up a hill in the snow...shallow or deep, as well as go down a hill with ease. I feel comfortable enough to park and stop in 15 inches of snow, and drive out of it later with ease. Slush was no problem either or hard packed ice. Now to clarify, slush and ice was driven on with care and patience but it still did well. And breaking on the snow was good, but not perfect and the slush and icebreaking were worse so with these tires, if like on any tires, give yourself distance to the situation you are in. And no, they do NOT perform like a now tire, but if you drive with common sense, these tires will take care of you in dry, rainy, snowy and slush roads if you're a good driver. I felt I needed to write a review on these tires since I've seen some bad reviews on them on some sites. Like I said, we have 15 inches on snow on the ground now. It is also currently snowing now, and we'll be getting 3-8 inches more tonight and have 5 more snow days to come in 8 days. They are serving me & my car well.

Best OEM tire I've had on any vehicle. I drive mostly highway and I drive the same in wet and light snow as I do in dry at highway speeds of 55 to 70 mph. No hydroplaning. This is my first All Wheel Drive and it has anti-sway so I don't know if that helps with the stability. 32,000 miles on these tires and there is still 8/32 of tread left. I have these tires rotated every 5,000 miles or less and keep the tire pressure near maximum. There is nothing I can say bad about these tires. I hope Yokohama hasn't discontinued them unless they replaced them with something better.

...Very comfortable ride and great handling... I am in the process of changing the wheels and putting these tires on my wife's 2017 Forester Touring model to improve the ride comfort...
These tires came on my 2015 Forester and I have 84,000+ miles on them. My dealer says I have nearly 40% tread life left -- amazing!! Very comfortable ride and great handling. Mostly highway use in my case. Would definitely buy again. I am in the process of changing the wheels and putting these tires on my wife's 2017 Forester Touring model to improve the ride comfort. The Touring model has 18" rims and 55 profile series tires which contribute to a much harder ride.

...Ride comfort is clearly the tires strong point of these tires, as road noise is very well control and over smooth surfaces the ride is very good and smooth, though some of this quality is lost over rough surfaces. But the tires still perform adequatly over broken surfaces, potholes, and so on...
These Yokohama Geolanders were stock tires for my 2014 Subaru Forester and have seen about 1700 miles of driving. Though I would not purchase these tires again for a few reasons they are still decent tires, at least in the conditions that I have experienced so far. But, that being said there are clearly better choices out there. My biggest problems is that I spend a combintion of time on backroads and on the highway and these are designated Highway All Seasons and in certain instances it really shows. For example, the tire's cornering ability in the dry is OK, but in the wet it needs to be greatly improved as it clear that even at low speed corners these tires are at the limit of their road holding abilities. There is also the fact that these tires offer very little in the way of steering feel/response. Ride comfort is clearly the tires strong point of these tires, as road noise is very well control and over smooth surfaces the ride is very good and smooth, though some of this quality is lost over rough surfaces. But the tires still perform adequatly over broken surfaces, potholes, and so on. As soon as the winter weather hits the East Coast I will be updating this review to include the winter weather driving capibilites of these tires. But my conclusion for now is that these tires seem counter intuitive on a Subaru, a car manufacturer that prides itself on their vehicle's all-weather capabilities, something that these tires do offer when things get wet, but they do provide decent dry weather confidence and good comfort but little else.

...Impressed with the ride comfort and performance of these tires, especially on the corners going down hill at reasonable speed...
Original equipment tires for my 2014 Subaru Forester. Just competed a 4000km trip from Port Angeles to Las Vegas returning via Los Angeles to Vancouver, BC. Impressed with the ride comfort and performance of these tires, especially on the corners going down hill at reasonable speed. Have not driven in the snow but I know that they are not snow tires but with the Foresters all wheel drive do not foresee problems in light to moderate snow.

...They are quiet, they wear very well (I got 65,000 miles out of the first set), and grip just fine...
The vehicle was clearly designed with these tires. They are quiet, they wear very well (I got 65,000 miles out of the first set), and grip just fine. They add to the "alive" feeling of the vehicle and are tuned to the suspension perfectly. On the right road, they make no sound. They ride very nicely and perform fine at the boat launch, on gravel, in deep sand on the beach, and towing my trailers. Overall, love these tires and I'll certainly buy them again.

OEM tires on our 2015 Forester. Seem to be wearing well and have worked great in all levels of snow and ice, even during a couple of snowy Pennsylvania winters. Low rolling resistance and great treadwear equal solid 30 mpg average. I would probably buy again, unless I find something I like more.

25000 miles on these tires and the lowest tread depth was 9/32nd. Keep in mind that these come from the factory 10/32nd. These tires might just end up lasting the life of the car with mileage like that. I might have to replace them only because I want an all terrain tire, otherwise they are great on the road. A nice smooth quiet ride. They aren't race tires, but they are quality commuters.

Winter traction shows concerning scores, with many ratings between 0-6 citing slippery snow performance and lack of ice grip. While some report 7-10s, frequent low marks highlight unstable handling and traction loss in winter conditions, making it unreliable for all-season expectations.

...These tires seem like summer tires in this stuff ... a Forester with all wheel drive. Does Subaru test these tires in any sort of weather conditions before certifying them for new vehicles? I will be dumping these soon and recommend anyone doing any winter driving to do the same.
My first experience with the Geolander tires was on my 2003 forester. After 37000 miles and 10 puncture flats they were done. Those tires slid on anything wet and were worthless in snow. I replaced them with BF Goodrich traction TA's and could not believe I was driving the same car. In 30K miles on that tire I never had a puncture flat. Next up a 2009 Outback with Potenza's. In 55K never a puncture flat. In this 2014 Forester at only 2500 miles and once again on Geolanders I once again am into puncture flats. These tires seem fairly quiet and compliant on the road, except on some freeway grades they are seriously loud and bumpy and make you think you have a flat tire. Very disconcerting. Over the last month in MN we have had 2 to 3 inches of snow on city streets here continuously. These tires seem like summer tires in this stuff ... a Forester with all wheel drive. Does Subaru test these tires in any sort of weather conditions before certifying them for new vehicles? I will be dumping these soon and recommend anyone doing any winter driving to do the same.
