The Proxes RR is Toyo's Racetrack & Autocross Only tire developed for driving enthusiasts who compete in road racing and track attack events where high levels of grip in dry conditions is required.

While Proxes RR radials meet DOT requirements, they are not appropriate for highway use. Proxes RR radials are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. And like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Proxes RR radials are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's also essential these tires be stored indoors at temperatures maintained above 15°F.

Proxes RR tires feature a high-grip tread compound molded into a semi-slick tread design including just two 4/32" deep symmetric circumferential tread grooves and multiple wear inspection holes in the slick areas. This race-ready design eliminates the need for tire shaving, however Proxes RR tires will benefit from heat cycling before competition to enhance wear and provide more consistent performance, as well as scuff-in during their first laps.

The tire's internal structure features a symmetric rayon casing construction to deliver predictable handling and consistent lap times throughout the tire's life while reinforced sidewalls deliver enhanced steering response and cornering stability. A marking area integrated into the sidewall design allows racers to easily label and manage their tires.

Additionally, their symmetric tread design and internal construction allows them to be mounted on either side of the car (and later be mounted inside out to further extend their life).

Toyo Tires recommends the following general set-up guidelines for the Proxes RR:

  • Operating Temperature: 160°F to 220°F
  • Hot Inflation Pressures: 32 to 38 (psi)
  • Camber: -1° to -3°
  • Caster: As much positive as possible

Note: Please follow the specific mounting and rotation guidelines provided by Toyo for their Proxes RR tires as recommended in the link below.

Toyo Proxes RR Reviews

Customers say the Toyo Proxes RR delivers excellent dry traction with predictable grip and responsive handling, making it a top choice for track days, autocross, and HPDE events. While some report decent wet performance in light rain, standing water significantly reduces traction. The tire's treadwear stands out, with many users achieving 20-30 heat cycles and multiple track weekends before noticeable drop-off. Though slightly less grippy than higher-end race tires, its durability and consistent performance across sessions make it a cost-effective option for drivers prioritizing longevity over peak lap times.

Awesome. Easy and Fast. Love the tires in dry. My car makes around 800 whp and the RRs with a lil heat works like a lower life span drag radial. Tirerack price and service is a 10. Favorite place for tires. Just need more choices for my tire size 345/30R19.

I don't know how a 40 treadwear tire can last this long but nothing else comes close regarding grip and longevity.

...Running on a spec Miata wear is excellent. Expecting 18+ cycles before any degradation...

10 heat cycles. 30 minutes each. Started at 30 psi. Increase to 36 psi. Tires are very sticky! Good grip under braking. Running on a spec Miata wear is excellent. I am running 3 degree + camber. Would easily compare these to Hoosiers. Nice product. Expecting 18+ cycles before any degradation. Tires were rotated at 6 cycles

49 reviews mention "Wet Traction"

  • 6 positive
  • 43 negative

Users report mediocre wet traction, noting a tendency to hydroplane in standing water and slippery handling during rain. While acceptable in dry track conditions, wet performance draws criticism for being unpredictable, requiring cautious driving to maintain control. Some describe rapid loss of grip in wet scenarios, highlighting poor wet-weather capability for this track-focused tire.

...drove about 50 mph while medium rain and found they didn't kill me but def don't recommend high speeds on wet roads and corners haha. slipped a few times but never spun out...

first ill start by stating I never tracked these tires. reason for purchase was just curious on how a autocross/track tire would hold up on very spirited canyon runs and daily highway. I was surprised on how long they lasted, I honestly expected them to last only a couple hundred maybe 2 thousand miles but to my surprised they lasted several months and 8500 miles of very spirited driving. for reference I installed these on the rear of my tuned 2020 supra. they gripped pretty well for about the first half of tread depth which these come in at 4/32nds. drove about 50 mph while medium rain and found they didn't kill me but def don't recommend high speeds on wet roads and corners haha. slipped a few times but never spun out. first couple of drives they did seem a little bouncy and odd at high speed runs (well above interstate speeds) but was manageable, either the tires settled in or I got used to it but didn't seem to have this issue after about 2 weeks. overall was not a bad experience on the street. tires were driven on about 32psi . found best traction was offered when tire temp reached above 115 degrees, anything under that the tires would slip quite a bit for 1-3 pulls.
