The Proxes RR is Toyo's Racetrack & Autocross Only tire developed for driving enthusiasts who compete in road racing and track attack events where high levels of grip in dry conditions is required.

While Proxes RR radials meet DOT requirements, they are not appropriate for highway use. Proxes RR radials are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. And like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Proxes RR radials are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's also essential these tires be stored indoors at temperatures maintained above 15°F.

Proxes RR tires feature a high-grip tread compound molded into a semi-slick tread design including just two 4/32" deep symmetric circumferential tread grooves and multiple wear inspection holes in the slick areas. This race-ready design eliminates the need for tire shaving, however Proxes RR tires will benefit from heat cycling before competition to enhance wear and provide more consistent performance, as well as scuff-in during their first laps.

The tire's internal structure features a symmetric rayon casing construction to deliver predictable handling and consistent lap times throughout the tire's life while reinforced sidewalls deliver enhanced steering response and cornering stability. A marking area integrated into the sidewall design allows racers to easily label and manage their tires.

Additionally, their symmetric tread design and internal construction allows them to be mounted on either side of the car (and later be mounted inside out to further extend their life).

Toyo Tires recommends the following general set-up guidelines for the Proxes RR:

  • Operating Temperature: 160°F to 220°F
  • Hot Inflation Pressures: 32 to 38 (psi)
  • Camber: -1° to -3°
  • Caster: As much positive as possible

Note: Please follow the specific mounting and rotation guidelines provided by Toyo for their Proxes RR tires as recommended in the link below.

Customers Say

Reviews indicate the Toyo Proxes RR excels in dry traction, with drivers praising its strong grip, predictable handling, and consistent performance during track days, autocross, and HPDE events. Many note it maintains grip through long sessions and multiple heat cycles, though some report reduced responsiveness under combined inputs like trailbraking. Wet traction receives mixed feedback, performing adequately in damp conditions but struggling with standing water. Treadwear is generally praised for a competition tire, with users reporting 20-30 heat cycles and lasting multiple events, though heavier vehicles or aggressive setups may see faster wear. While not the fastest option, its balance of performance and value makes it popular for dedicated track use.

Amazing Grip. These tires are perfect for track events, drag racing, autocross and basically driving at the very edge of performance. They did a massive improvement on my 2016 Infiniti Q50S Red Sport RWD. If you are looking for an affordable racing slick tire this is it.

...They come in quickly in the dry and I run them square and rotate often to even out the wear. They are reliable and inspire confidence.

I have run dozens of sets of these on my track cars. Not quite the fastest tire, but the best value. In the wet they stick surprisingly well as long as there is no standing water. If I do encounter puddles, I just straighten the wheel for a second and splash them to help dry the track. They come in quickly in the dry and I run them square and rotate often to even out the wear. They are reliable and inspire confidence.

I don't know how a 40 treadwear tire can last this long but nothing else comes close regarding grip and longevity.

...Due to the tread design, I do not recommend they be driven in any wet condition as they lose traction quickly...

My car is modified and has just over 1000 RWHP. Of the many brands that I have experienced, these definitely grip the best on the street. Due to the tread design, I do not recommend they be driven in any wet condition as they lose traction quickly. The strong sidewall definitely assists in being driven on the street and does not permit the rear swaying effect that occurs from the MT Drag Radials.
