The Proxes ST III is Toyo's Street/Sport Truck All-Season tire developed for high-powered and performance-focused pickup trucks, crossovers and SUVs, in addition to any driver who wants to add some sporty character to their vehicle. Designed to combine stylish good looks with confident traction and handling year-round, the Proxes ST III is engineered for use in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even light snow.

The highly directional tread design of the Proxes ST III is molded from a high-silica, all-season compound. The arrowhead tapers in the center of the tread increase block stiffness for improved straight-line tracking, while the directional shoulder blocks provide stability and enhanced braking performance. The offset pattern minimizes pipe resonance for a quieter, more enjoyable drive. The high silica content in the tread rubber reduces rolling resistance and also improves wet traction, while lightning grooves in the pattern better evacuate water for hydroplaning resistance. Multi-wave sipes help minimize irregular wear to prevent increased noise over time while also improving traction in slippery conditions, including in light snow and on ice.

High-hardness bead filler and a jointless bead wire improve handling response, and the stiff casing further enhances handling while also reducing rolling resistance. Two wide, steel belts are reinforced and help deliver ride comfort plus high-speed stability.

Popular Tires for America's Most Popular Vehicles – 2025 Test 8 - With Winter Update(39:51)

The Crossover, or CUV, is hands-down the most popular vehicle in America. Last year in our CUV test, we used the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to test all-season and all-weather touring tires. This year, the field expanded to include all-terrain and performance truck products, representing the full range of tires drivers are installing on these vehicles. Obviously, with a test this diverse, it’s not so much about which one tire rises to the top, but rather how each category brings its own strengths to the table. When comparing multiple tires from one category, it's how they stack up against each other. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Test 8!

Toyo Proxes ST III Reviews

Customer feedback data reveals strong performance in dry traction (9-10 scores) with precise steering and confident cornering, making it a standout for sport truck handling. Wet traction receives consistent praise (8-10) with reliable hydroplaning resistance. Winter traction shows mixed results: light snow capability earns 7-8 scores, but ice traction (0-4 in some cases) raises concerns for severe conditions. Comfort scores 8-10 for smooth ride quality, though a few note moderate road noise. Treadwear ratings (7-10) suggest durability aligns well with all-season expectations. Ideal for drivers prioritizing dry/wet performance in street/sport truck use, with cautious winter driving advised.

...Operates great in wet conditions in dispersing water away from the vehicle due to the tread pattern...

This Toyo Proxes STIII is a great tire. Operates great in wet conditions in dispersing water away from the vehicle due to the tread pattern. It is a well built, and long lasting tire. The cost of the tire is a little more expensive due to a 21 inch diameter (a tire is a tire/although there aren't many 21 inch wheels on vehicles).

I got them in the times just before winter. I had some dry/warm, some cold some rain and snow/slush/Ice mix. These aren't snow tires but they did well enough in an awd vehicle setting. These also look great with the stiff sidewall.

...Pretty good in the snow, provided you are not intentionally getting sideways.

Great deal, but tends to understeer in the rain (especially on concrete). Pretty good in the snow, provided you are not intentionally getting sideways.

...Dry traction is great at highway speeds speed but at low speed there can be a little slippage, but that comes with being on a truck with a long wheel base...

Overall these are great tires. Tread life is top of the line without compromising spirited handling, as for spirited handling when I on the off chance pushed them they handle great and at the edge they gave me subtle hints I am at the edge of pushing them.
Wet weather handling is great at highway speeds and never felt traction going soft in the rain and didn’t slow down much for SoFlo down pours. Dry traction is great at highway speeds speed but at low speed there can be a little slippage, but that comes with being on a truck with a long wheel base. The only weak point is leaving a stop sign or light while in the rain, you have to baby the throttle to leave the line without spinning, but again that is a truck thing with the rear being of lighter weight with no load and majority of tires falter in this area in regards to trucks.

I have no idea how many miles they will last but the first 10k they still have a lot of meat left and that is because the tree design has more contact area. I have been through a lot of other brands on my trucks and mustang and so far this tire is holding up the best in tread wear and ride 10 times better than the NITTO’s I had for all of 2 weeks and gave them away for these, never ever putting NITTO’s on a truck again.
Road noise, non existent. For those that complain about it I would bet their tires are facing the wrong way since these are Omnidirectional and are not designed to be bidirectional. Again 10 times better than Nitto as well as 20 times better than Goodyear.

...These tires are very comfortable and grippy. They seem to ride a little softer than I'm used to but the outstanding grip on both pavement and offroad is unmistakable...

I really like these tires and hope Toyo continues them. I work in the oilfield far from home. Most of my mileage is on the highway but I also run oilfield rock, gravel, dirt, mud and sand roads daily to access locations. These tires are very comfortable and grippy. They seem to ride a little softer than I'm used to but the outstanding grip on both pavement and offroad is unmistakable. Where I work I expect ice and some snow accumulation but have not driven on either yet with these tires so I cannot comment on their performance on frozen surfaces. All in all, I expect these tires to perform well in every condition on my vehicle as my drive train is AWD/4WD/4WL. 4runners can find traction on bald tires and climb like mountain goats. I'm sure the experience will be different for both 2WD and FWD vehicles. It is what it is. I would recommend these tires for anyone that needs stable grip, a comfortable ride and occasionally goes offroad and may experience driving in some light snow and ice. As always, your particular vehicle will only be capable of what it was engineered for. buyers should keep that in mind when choosing tires. On my current vehicle, considering MY demands, I will replace these with the same tire until I can't anymore for whatever reason.

...For the size on my car, these are the best I could find in terms of traction, handling, and ride comfort...

Great tires! Probably the best value tires you can get for many SUVs/Crossovers. For the size on my car, these are the best I could find in terms of traction, handling, and ride comfort. Not only that, they also have a good treadwear rating, surprisingly. It's been over a year since I had these on, and from my experience, if you want to take a turn quickly, it will be predictable and do a solid job. It's no fancy grippy 200 or 400 TW tire, but it definitely performs well for the price and TW rating. Just overall a great tire for the money.
