The Proxes ST III is Toyo's Street/Sport Truck All-Season tire developed for high-powered and performance-focused pickup trucks, crossovers and SUVs, in addition to any driver who wants to add some sporty character to their vehicle. Designed to combine stylish good looks with confident traction and handling year-round, the Proxes ST III is engineered for use in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even light snow.

The highly directional tread design of the Proxes ST III is molded from a high-silica, all-season compound. The arrowhead tapers in the center of the tread increase block stiffness for improved straight-line tracking, while the directional shoulder blocks provide stability and enhanced braking performance. The offset pattern minimizes pipe resonance for a quieter, more enjoyable drive. The high silica content in the tread rubber reduces rolling resistance and also improves wet traction, while lightning grooves in the pattern better evacuate water for hydroplaning resistance. Multi-wave sipes help minimize irregular wear to prevent increased noise over time while also improving traction in slippery conditions, including in light snow and on ice.

High-hardness bead filler and a jointless bead wire improve handling response, and the stiff casing further enhances handling while also reducing rolling resistance. Two wide, steel belts are reinforced and help deliver ride comfort plus high-speed stability.

...Grip is fantastic dry and wet as I havent heard the tires to squeal one bit...

These tires are AMAZING. Road noise is very minimal and does not get progressively loud the fast you drive, unlike the Michelin Latitude I replaced them with. I was skeptical of the brand at first as I never of them but these are one of the best tires I've purchased. Some key traits I noticed coming from to the Michelin: less crashing over potholes and ruts on the road. The tire is softer and not as hard which makes the car feel much more refined and poised instead of jittery and jaring. It does give more of a grand touring tire than ultra high performance, but this car will never go to a track and Houston doesnt have streets are exciting to drive on. Grip is fantastic dry and wet as I havent heard the tires to squeal one bit. The tires are fresh right now so nothing but good things to say. I hope these tires age well as I really like them. Time will tell, I will post updates.

...Confident in the wet (zero problems even in torrential downpours)...

TL;DR: More comfortable, quieter, and sportier than Conti PureContacts. Really good in dry, *great* in wet, good enough in snow. As Roger Ebert would say, "Two thumbs up! Waaay up!"

I'm a longtime Conti man, having driven everything (including motorcycle tires) from ExtremeContact DWS to my most recent past set, PureContact. For my current tires, I went with Vredestein Hypertracs. I don't even remember why. (Might've been a review mentioning their under-the-radar overperformance). In any case, I love them!

From the very first, they felt more... comfy (hard to describe). They stop, go, and corner at *least* as well as the Contis (I think they are *better*, but I don't want to get ahead of myself). One immediate reaction I remember is: "Wow! I never knew my Contis were so *loud*!" Yes, the car is soooo much quieter now, especially at, you know, "higher" speeds. Also, as noted, they are... comfier, or maybe more cushioned. Yes, the car still bangs over bumps (because "sport" sedan), but in general, relative to the Contis, everything is a bit more cushioned.

So, I've waited 3,000 miles to give my review, to make sure that the tires *stayed* impressive. And, trust me, I *did* make sure that the performance was there. Zooming along certain curvy roads with nice sweepers and some tighter turns, I can*not* get the tires to squeal (or, more accurately, I would not risk the speeds/maneuvers that *might* make the tires squeal). *Definitely* more performance than the PureContacts. Confident in the wet (zero problems even in torrential downpours), confident in the dry, and "good enough" in light snow (no heavy snow this past winter).

As for scoring, nothing ever gets all 10s, but as Roger Ebert would say, "Two thumbs up! Waaay up!"

P.S. The tires boast some froufrou artwork: "Hypertrac's unique sidewall graphics, created by legendary design house Italdesign Giugiaro, show a ripple-effect design, which reinforces the tire's wet-weather prowess." Ugh... whatever.

...Here in Southern California we just had a record setting rainy season and I have to say the tread pattern my be very functional because the wet weather cornering, braking, and overall traction was amazing. The car never hydroplaned given some severe flooding conditions at times...

I decided to research the brand after viewing an IG post from Jason Cammisa indicating that he had put them on his vehicles which include multiple VWs. I had been putting Pirellis on my Audi exclusively which currently has approximately 230k miles. I was looking for a commuting tire that was quiet and had decent performance. Although the tread design is not as esthetically appealing as some other brands, the ride and noise quality has been an upgrade. The dry performance has been okay. Here in Southern California we just had a record setting rainy season and I have to say the tread pattern my be very functional because the wet weather cornering, braking, and overall traction was amazing. The car never hydroplaned given some severe flooding conditions at times. I’m very happy with the tires so far.

...Michigan winters can be bad but with these in my front wheel drive car, I was overtaking vehicles with 4wheel drive in most conditions!...

I live in Michigan so an all season is a must when shopping for new rubber. My car is also a sporty turbo so I look for performance just as much if not more than traction in winter. When I found these I was skeptical, I was raised on brands that held their own like Michelin, Pirelli or Yokohama. After looking over the warranty info and the backing the manufacturer honors it was clear to me they believed in their product. Reviews online would validate"they are fresh to the market and taking it by storm." So I trusted tirerack as they've taken good care of me in the past, bought 2 of these and hoped for the best. It's now just over a year and I gotta say these are impressive. I'd make a video review of these if I'd get the views cause I'll personally say this.. My tires before this were Michelin Pilot Sport As 3+.. A great product.. But these Vred's in my opinion were identical or slightly better in every aspect. I even feel they had better gripping performance from a dig, and that's with a turbo! Michigan winters can be bad but with these in my front wheel drive car, I was overtaking(safely) vehicles with 4wheel drive in most conditions!I am highly impressed with these tires, and I'm looking to purchase a couple more now, because as with any all season tire... TREADWEAR IS THE EVIL! They are by no means used up already but I'd like to see a more enhanced tread life in the future! Hopefully this helps someone looking for a fair price tire that isn't as expensive as name brand.

...Grip off the line is unbelievable! Tire noice is nonexistent, cornering is great and it almost feels like you're riding on a cloud...

Purchased these tires as replacements to the Continentals that came with the car. Tires had good reviews and at just under $200 bucks a tire I decided to give them a try. These tires feel much better on the road than the Continentals. Grip off the line is unbelievable! Tire noice is nonexistent, cornering is great and it almost feels like you’re riding on a cloud. That’s how smooth these tires are. Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to drive in the rain or snow but look forward to giving a review when the time comes. If you’re thinking about going with another brand tire at a slightly lower price than the usual suspects I highly recommend these. Noticed they have an area on the site where you can post pics. Will try to post a few pics of this tire on my 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 4matic Sport.

Tire traction is great... The handling and wear are exceptional...

Tire traction is great. However, in my 40+ years of experience, new tires have always been quieter than the old worn tires. But not in this case. These are not smooth and quiet, nothing like an off-road or truck tire. But somewhat noisy. The vehicle seems to wander with tracking since these were installed, like it just can''t find center. This vehicle was aligned when the tires were installed. The handling and wear are exceptional. But the tracking/wandering and noise would make me think twice about getting these again.

...Comfort-wise, this tire also exceeded my expectations. My A6 runs a 20" wheel with a 35-section sidewall, but despite that, the ride is smooth, composed, and pretty decent over bumps. I've hit some hard potholes over the time with the tires as well, but they've held up perfectly...

This is a short-term review and I’ll be writing a long-term review when I reach the appropriate point. I’ve had these tires on my 2014 A6 for about 6 weeks and 3,000 miles.

The term “Ultra High Performance” sums it up extremely well. I’ve taken corners far faster than I could imagine and even then, the tires still had more grip in them. Mind you the A6 is a larger and heavier car at ~4200 lbs dry.

Comfort-wise, this tire also exceeded my expectations. My A6 runs a 20” wheel with a 35-section sidewall, but despite that, the ride is smooth, composed, and pretty decent over bumps. I’ve hit some hard potholes over the time with the tires as well, but they’ve held up perfectly. Noise is almost inexistent. I can hear larger cracks and divots, but I owe that to the narrowness of the tire, not the compound itself.

I live in New England and regularly venture up to ski country, so many more miles (some snowy) will be put on these tires. Looking forward to testing them during those conditions.

Until then, I highly recommend.

...The ride comfort is a dream. Softer than the Pirelli P-Zero and much softer than the OEM Dunlop SP 5000...

Tire Rack's road test and report is spot on from my experience so far with these tires. There is some oversteer that you get used to. It is relatively quiet with some slight "wurr" at low speeds. I suspect this is from the number and more aggressive shoulder blocks/sipes. This is a benefit on snow and proved to be much better than the previous Pirelli P-Zero A/S Plus. The ride comfort is a dream. Softer than the Pirelli P-Zero and much softer than the OEM Dunlop SP 5000. Steering is excellent, but the wheel doesn't quite return as easy as it did with the Pirelli's, but close. I believe this will improve overtime as the shoulders wear. I think spirited driving will fall a bit short compared to the Pirelli's but I'll take the better snow traction and ride. It's too early for a full review. I intend to update after going through all the seasons.

...They also are wearing great.

Bought these on a whim because I didn't want to have to swap to winter tires, but also wanted a good all-season tire that works year round. These tires are the ticket. They're great in the summer, nice and quiet, great traction in wet and dry conditions. In the winter, I haven't had an issue in light or deep snow with these tires. The designers seemingly have figured out a great all-purpose, all-condition all season. Highly recommended, and I'll be buying another set when these are due for replacement. They also are wearing great.
