Crugen Premium (KL33) tires are Kumho's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tires originally developed for Original Equipment use on Hyundai Santa Fe crossover vehicles and now available in sizes for a wide range of crossovers, SUVs and light trucks. Combining sophisticated looking low-profile tires and large rim diameter wheels to enhance vehicle appearance; Crugen Premium tires also provide all-season versatility, including traction in light snow.

While the "Crugen Premium" name replaced the "City Venture Premium" name at the end of 2013, there were no tread design, construction nor materials changes. Therefore, Crugen Premium and City Venture Premium tires of equivalent tread depths can be used interchangeably in single applications or axle pairs.

Engineered to handle everyday activities in absolute confidence, Crugen Premium tires feature Kumho's advanced all-season compound for enhanced traction, tire life and reduced rolling resistance. The compound is molded into a symmetric variable pitch tread design to reduce noise for a quieter ride. Independent tread blocks separated by wide circumferential grooves contribute to wet road and light snow traction.

The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to combine durability and strength while a polyester cord reinforced casing promotes ride comfort.

Toyo Reviews

Customer feedback data reveals strong performance in dry traction (9-10 scores) with precise steering and confident cornering, making it a standout for sport truck handling. Wet traction receives consistent praise (8-10) with reliable hydroplaning resistance. Winter traction shows mixed results: light snow capability earns 7-8 scores, but ice traction (0-4 in some cases) raises concerns for severe conditions. Comfort scores 8-10 for smooth ride quality, though a few note moderate road noise. Treadwear ratings (7-10) suggest durability aligns well with all-season expectations. Ideal for drivers prioritizing dry/wet performance in street/sport truck use, with cautious winter driving advised.

...Excellent handling, outstanding dry and wet performance. Wet suffered some as they aged, and they got a little noisy at the end of their life...

This is my second set of the Proxies on my X5 with staggered tires. I achieved over 32,000 miles on my first set with a significant amount of spirited driving in the mountain twisties. Excellent handling, outstanding dry and wet performance. Wet suffered some as they aged, and they got a little noisy at the end of their life. But, this tire was the best I've had on any SUV.

...They are quieter than the tires I had before, although they were pretty threadbare, and the handling is top notch on a dry or wet road...

I’ve only driven 300 miles on these, but I see no issues so far. They are quieter than the tires I had before, although they were pretty threadbare, and the handling is top notch on a dry or wet road. I didn’t read the reviews until after I ordered them, and was regretting my choice, but after installing them, I can’t think of any negatives. If any pop up, I’ll report back.

...Excellent summer traction, corner like on rails and decent wet/winter performance from what I've experienced taking them on a few ski trip to Colorado...

Was a little apprehensive at first due to the low price, but these are by far the best tires I've had on this car! Excellent summer traction, corner like on rails and decent wet/winter performance from what I've experienced taking them on a few ski trip to Colorado. They also are the quietest tires I've had on the car. Preciously set were the Pirelli Scorpion Zero, which were not bad, but they felt "rubbery" at the cornering limits. These tires do not exhibit this handling characteristic (granted, it's a powerful car). They still look new with 7k miles on them, so I'm projecting a pretty good tire life.

...Drove across Interstate 70 "Vail" pass during major snow storm that closed the highway...

BEST tires! Drove across Interstate 70 "Vail" pass during major snow storm that closed the highway. Replaced inferior Pirelli Scorpions that slide across the road in minor rain storm and wind noise. Had to rotate the tires every three months due to uneven wear on the rear of my truck. Pirelli unreliability in sand or dirt was stuck many times and had to be towed.

...If you drive quick, but not crazy, the dry performance is quite reasonable...

Rated M+S, but the "S" had better be snow and not "snow+underlying ice". Definitely seem average on hydroplaning too - especially when cold. However, price vs performance is off the charts positive as these are the only 22's to fit an X5M that aren't $700+ per tire. If you drive quick, but not crazy, the dry performance is quite reasonable and wear rating is superb in the real world so they end up 1/4 the cost of a summer tire - even in other X5 OEM sizes

...I'm coming from a Mustang GT and the Proxes feel like they have the same amount of grip accelerating and cornering at the Pilot Sports on the Mustang. After some suspension upgrades my F150 corners like its on rails. I've got the 2.7L Ecoboost motor in a RWD short box regular cab (very light truck) and I can barely break the tires free when stomping on it...

Normally I don't write product reviews but there are a number of very negative reviews here on the Proxes tires so I thought I give a different opinion.
I don't know if Toyo changed the compound or design since these earlier reviews but I've had nothing but positive experience with them. I'm coming from a Mustang GT and the Proxes feel like they have the same amount of grip accelerating and cornering at the Pilot Sports on the Mustang. After some suspension upgrades my F150 corners like its on rails. I've got the 2.7L Ecoboost motor in a RWD short box regular cab (very light truck) and I can barely break the tires free when stomping on it. I've only driven in moderate rain (no super down pours) but no signs of hydro-planning or wet traction issues after two months. Overall I could not be more pleased with the performance of these tires.

...Very smooth & comfortable ride all in all...

Finishing up my 2nd full life of these tires and they have been fantastic. First set I got about 60,000 miles out of them. Currently have almost 75,000 miles out of my second set. Had my ford dealership rotate them every 5,000 miles which was every 2-3 months for me. Very smooth & comfortable ride all in all.

I’d highly recommend these!

Great tires! Probably the best value tires you can get for many SUVs/Crossovers. For the size on my car, these are the best I could find in terms of traction, handling, and ride comfort. Not only that, they also have a good treadwear rating, surprisingly. It's been over a year since I had these on, and from my experience, if you want to take a turn quickly, it will be predictable and do a solid job. It's no fancy grippy 200 or 400 TW tire, but it definitely performs well for the price and TW rating. Just overall a great tire for the money.
