This is an update after 2 months driving under occasional winter conditions. I'm really pleased with my two Vredestein Hi-Trac All-season tires (mounted in front). I already hit a few times a standing water on the road, at speed, and had no problem keeping Kia Optima going straight. Also had a chance to drive in heavy rains and snow, and again, tires performed well, with good grip in cornering or under braking. The tires are also reasonably quiet and feel comfortable.

The Vredestein HiTrac excels in winter traction, with most snow and deep snow scores hitting 8-10. Ice performance is strong (many 7-8s), though a few lower ratings suggest occasional variability in extreme icy conditions.

...We get snow and rain, and these do the trick in light snow and am totally confident in the rain!
I am really happy about these tires! We were rolling on the the second set of OEM tires and the ride could be somewhat jarring. So on our third set I dug in, did my research for a more comfortable ride without sacrificing in the way of traction, and went with the VREDESTEIN HITRAC ALL SEASON. My wife's car is a Camry so it's never going to drive like it's more refined cousin, a Lexus. That said, these tires make the ride feel SO much more comfortable. Soaks up cracks and bumps without a hassle and it still corners pretty well. We get snow and rain, and these do the trick in light snow and am totally confident in the rain! Great tires, wearing well. Would highly recommend!

...Living in New England brings every possible weather option, and the Vred's have taken it all in stride, without complaint...
Hugely impressed. Only heard of them a couple of years ago. After having Continentals, Michelins, Toyos (on the track car) and numerous other "bland" brands, Vredestein is a great "do-all" option. Living in New England brings every possible weather option, and the Vred's have taken it all in stride, without complaint. 10/10 would recommend for an one-tire solution for small-er vehicles exposed to any and all weather climates.

The all-season Vredesteins as advertised have excellent traction in the dry and excel in the wet. They also have a quiet, comfortable ride. They are much more compliant than the Michelins they replaced. Tire Rack's testing, rating and comparison with other tires in its class made the choice of the Vredesteins easy as they excelled in categories important to me. The online purchase was easy and they shipped the tires to my local installer quickly. A great company to deal with and I highly recommend them. Well done Tire Rack! John R.

...Dry traction was always good along with braking and cornering.
I was happy with these tires. I purchased them based on price and reviews and was not disappointed. I switched them out at 50K miles with 4/32" remaining. Had I gone to 2/32" I probably could have hit 60K miles. With my driving style, I consider that to be pretty good. Generally I get about 75% of the rated mileage from tires but I blame that on my driving style. Had I driven more conservatively, I'm certain I could have gotten the full 70K miles. Based on that I gave them a 10 for treadwear.
When newer, light snow and wet traction was excellent for an all-season. This diminished over time but that's expected. Even at 4/32", they still did acceptable in wet weather. Road noise was slightly higher than average when compared to other all-seasons such as the Michelin Defender2 but only slightly. Dry traction was always good along with braking and cornering.
I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another set of these in the future.

I bought these without any name recognition but I’m glad I did. The wet traction is very good. I noticed no hydroplaning in heavy rain. The snow traction was good also. A quiet smooth running tire I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

These tires handle well. They are comfortable on the road. They seem a little nosier than the original Duelers but not horrible. They are pretty good in wet conditions. We don't use them in the snow as we have dedicated winter tires.

Very impressed with these tires after 25K miles. Well balanced and relatively good at just about everything. Surprisingly good in the snow. Very good on wet roads and rain. Treadwear has been very good so far. Pretty sure I'll get 60K - 70K out of them. I don't usually get the full amount due to mydriving style being a bit more aggressive. Not silent, but noise isn't overbearing. Quiet and smooth ride overall. I like trying different tires each time but I'm sure I'll be tempted to get another set of these after they finally wear out.
