The ADVAN Sport is Yokohama's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sophisticated sports cars, sports coupes and high performance sedans. The ADVAN Sport is designed to combine a high degree of comfort, high-speed durability, and a high level of traction in dry and wet conditions. Like all summer tires, the ADVAN Sport is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The ADVAN Sport features a silica blend tread compound developed to provide grip that's less affected by ambient temperatures. The compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern featuring five main ribs including a massive, outboard shoulder zone to blend handling with ride and noise comfort. Four wide, circumferential grooves help water flow through the footprint to resist hydroplaning.

The tire's internal structure features two wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon cap plies to provide strength and uniform ride quality, while the sidewalls are tuned to resist lateral deflection and provide predictable handling.

...The tires I had on before these tires would break traction in the rear, in wet weather on a cambered curve if I had a little too much speed. With these tires the rear tires I have not broken traction on the same curves going the same speeds...

This seems like a good overall tire. The tires aren't too noisy and I feel pretty confident in wet weather. My Merc has standard rear wheel drive so, if I get on it too much in the wet weather it will spin the rear tire. The tires I had on before these tires would break traction in the rear, in wet weather on a cambered curve if I had a little too much speed. With these tires the rear tires I have not broken traction on the same curves going the same speeds. I install winter tires for the winter so, I have no input about how they handle in snow. Have had the tires for a year and so far, they have been a good purchase.

...They're also extremely good on dry roads, don't make much road noise, and ride extremely smoothly...

Got these to replace the factory tires that had become worn out. I wanted something with a high treadlife that was also quiet, comfortable, and capable of handling Indiana winters. This turned out to be perfect for that. We got a fairly brutal snow storm not too long ago, and these tires handled it like champs. I haven't felt this stable on snow in a long time. They're also extremely good on both wet and dry roads, don't make much road noise, and ride extremely smoothly. I used to have a bit of steering vibration on my old tires when getting to 60-70 MPH on the interstate, but that's completely gone with these.

...So far, the Yokies drive a bit more firm, but they feel better on stance, responsiveness, and dry pavement capability than the GY's...

Early results of my Yokohama's Avid Ascent LX tires for my 2008 Honda Accord. Car has 220,800 miles. Car has always been somewhat noisy as it relates to highway noise coming into the cabin, however, that has always been a constant with the '08 Honda's (have 2 of them). But these tires are significantly quieter than the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred tires prior to this new set. Ran them for 78,000 miles. They were good tires, not great, but not bad for the miles and for the price. Will see how long that remains the case as I rack up the miles on the Yokohama's. So far, the Yokies drive a bit more firm, but they feel much better on stance, responsiveness, and dry pavement capability than the GY's. I've driven only once in the rain, and they feel very good with grip. I was a bit aggressive when taking corners, off the line starts after stops, and going through puddles... and they held up very nicely. I think I am one who looks at a tire's tread design, shoulder stance, and overall sidewall appearance (along with all the TireRack statistics & testing numbers), and I think this tire is ranking up there fairly high. May not be the best overall, based on the numbers, but looking at overall data and road feel.. this is in the top 3 for my Honda. I've had OE Michelins, Toyo, Goodyear, Continental (not on this car), and now Yokohama's. Not to mention, they 'look' awesome on the car. So far, so very good!

Very quiet and smooth riding...

Very quiet and smooth riding. I previously had Goodyear maxlife tires and after 30k miles they became extremely noisy and had mild cupping, even though I rotated them every 7500 miles and alignment was perfect and religiously kept pressure at 35psi. I've had Yokohama in the past and they were great, expect the same with these. Another nice thing is that these tires are manufactured in the US. I will never buy Goodyear's again. Only Michelin or Yokohama from now on. Michelin are probably the best tires but they are expensive and I'm not sure how long I'm keeping this car and that's the main reason I bought Yokohama as they are inexpensive compared to Michelin.

We purchased our 2016 Forester in 2020, about 55K miles on it, and it still had the origional Yokohama Avid Ascend tires on. Since then we've put on another 20K in all driving conditions, highway, city, wet, dry, and snow, and the tires have performed well. We havn't noticed a reduction of handeling or an increase in road noise. These tires have been relatively quite, even at 74K + miles.

I recently put on new tires at 74,500 miles, and went with the same Avid Ascend.

If you're looking for great performance and longevity, these are the tires for you!
