Customers consistently rate wet traction highly, with most scoring 9s and 10s. The Geolandar CV 4S delivers confident wet braking and strong hydroplaning resistance, excelling in all-season conditions for crossover/SUV use.

...They have good rain channels between the lugs so there's no highway hydroplaning even in rain downpours. Wet traction is great...
Even though these GEOLANDERS (for my Subaru Forester), are not true snow tires, they did great in the PA winter/snow. They have good rain channels between the lugs so there's no highway hydroplaning even in rain downpours. Wet traction is great. Aggressive tread design also gives good traction on muddy/grassy slopes. A very good all-season tire, but may not be good in sub-zero cold & ice covered roads. In those cases a true snow tire is best. Highly recommended as a good all season tire for Subaru Foresters and similar.

...So far we've very happy with how these tires handle the wet road conditions. No more sliding when it rains, mileage is about the same only a tenth less.
Only have these tires for a month. Very satisfied so far. The cooper tires we had on before were terrible in the rain. They slid too much, poor traction and bad in the snow. So far we’ve very happy with how these tires handle the wet road conditions. No more sliding when it rains, mileage is about the same only a tenth less. There is a little bit more road noise but I would rather have a little noise and hold the road in poor driving conditions.

...These tires take it to another level though... So far at 34K miles, rotated every 8K miles, they are about half tread left and still got me through the recent snow storm we just had just fine
If you can tolerate the tire noise, this is an amazing tire. My Pacifica is AWD and typically is fully loaded with AV equipment. These tires have proven, so far, to be long lasting, even wearing and all around good in all of the northeast weather we get. The AWD Pacifica is amazing in inclement weather as it is. These tires take it to another level though. Only negative is the tire noise. Not so noticeable at high speeds, but sounds like a bad wheel bearing at low speeds. So far at 34K miles, rotated every 8K miles, they are about half tread left and still got me through the recent snow storm we just had just fine

...I've never been a fan of all-season for Winter use, but gave these a try based on their snow-rated worthiness...
Overall the tires are a good value so far. I've never been a fan of all-season for Winter use, but gave these a try based on their snow-rated worthiness. Aggressive knob design does make them somewhat noisy, but I assumed that going in based on the picture of the tread design.

...No slippage in ice. Stopped completely in packed snow in what temps in the teens while turning around to park in my side if the street. Gunned it to see what would happen. The tires caught and turned me around perfectly...
Our Mercedes GL450 came with horrible tires for winter, Crosscontacts*. We got our tires right before this passed big Winter cold front they brought temperatures in Denver Colorado and I an average of 3 degrees. For three days. That mixed with snow ❄️🌨️ I wanted to get them out and test them. No slippage in ice. Stopped completely in packed snow in what temps in the teens while turning around to park in my side if the street. Gunned it to see what would happen. The tires caught and turned me around perfectly.
I would definitely recommend if you're looking for something keep you and your family safe.

...In the 300 miles since I bought them we've had ice, and slippery powdery snow. In both as well as on dry roads this tire has performed amazingly well!...
I bought these to replace some Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires that were noisy wore quickly and didn't perform well in snow.
In the 300 miles since I bought them we've had ice, and slippery powdery snow. In both as well as on dry roads this tire has performed amazingly well!
Firstly, these are about the quietest tires I've ever owned and I've owned many. I had suspected a wheel bearing was going bad on my Mazda, but couldn't hear it well enough over the noise the previous tires made. These are so quiet I was able to hear it immediately after leaving the installation site and determine which wheel it was. Unbelievable!
In powdery slippery snow they performed great. With the previous tires I was always fishtailing while turning and brakes were locking coming to stops. None of that with these. I've been able to brake and turn without issue. Accelerating from a stop light has also been no problem. They dig right in and launch you without spinning.
On wet roads no hydroplaning and they grip well. And on ice they grip better than expected for a non-snow tire. No issues.
Ride is comfortable with them. The CX-50 has a very stiff suspension that is unforgiving over bumps and rough roads. These ride better than both the OEM Goodyear tires and the Continentals. Wish it would have came with them to begin with.
Gas mile slipped a bit over the Continentals. Maybe a mile per gallon. Not a big deal.
If they last as long as the last set of Yokohamas I had on a different vehicle, 80k miles, I'll realluy them again! y be happy. However even if they don't it would be hard to do worse than the 28k I got out of the Continentals before they hit 4/32.
So far I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend them! I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again!

...Excellent grip on dry and wet, solid braking performance, and cornering is outstanding...
Replaced OEM tires with these. Excellent grip on dry and wet, solid braking performance, and cornering is outstanding. Zero impact to MPG. Tire is a little noisy, there's a faint cyclic whirring that you can't really notice at first, but once I did, I can't stop hearing it - not annoying or outright loud, but still noticeable. YMMV. Snow performance is impressive - getting me through a heavy & wet blizzard with little to no fuss on both local and highway driving, very predictable and controllable grip/braking. Ice performance was not great at all, but to be fair, I expect ice traction to not be so good as this is not a dedicated snow tire. Good looking tire overall and I'd consider buying again.

...The tread blocks are rather big, so you might experience a little bit of tread squirm if you ask for too much in the dry, but nothing to be unexpected...
I have zero complaints about these so far. They are super smooth and quiet. Very peaceful on long trips. I've driven on them in heavy rain and they keep my vehicle planted solidly to the road. The tread blocks are rather big, so you might experience a little bit of tread squirm if you ask for too much in the dry, but nothing to be unexpected. So far, they also exhibit no real signs of wear. I decided between these or Michelin CrossClimates (which were my old tires), and have no regrets going with these at a cheaper price than the Michelins. They may last longer, too. I look forward to trying them in the snow if I get a chance.

...Handles well, is quiet, comfortable, fairly-priced, and unquestionably strong in wet and snowy/hard-pack conditions...
For a 2003 Acura MDX that has experienced its fair share of top-of-the-line Michelin and Bridgestone tires, this Yokohama CV 4S is a superb tire. Handles well, is quiet, comfortable, fairly-priced, and unquestionably strong in wet and snowy/hard-pack conditions. Great purchase and WILL purchase them again.

I strongly recommend this tire if you value great traction, comfortable ride in all four seasons with the additional benefit of reasonable price...
I like these tires very much! I purchased them from Cassidy tire in the suburban Chicago area in early October. This way I got dry, wet and snow driving before this review. The OEM Kumho tires are good in the dry and wet, as soon as they got cold, they are horrible, especially in snow. The Yokohamas are an all weather tire and they deliver very well!
Price was a big deciding factor, having an AWD SUV I have to plan on replacing all 4 depending on wear, so I don't damage the AWD system. Check the specs on your specific vehicle, very important to know and understand. Take it from me, a guy with 30 years of working in a dealership service department.
Bottom line, these tires have to be the best all around choice for anyone who has 4 seasons to drive in. Between price, wear, and handling, these tires have it all. I'm very pleased with how they are wearing and handling in dry, wet, and now the snow. I will say, compared to the OEM they are not as quiet but it is a very small difference. A difference that is not enough to worry about, in fact after just a couple weeks the difference wasn't even noticeable anymore.
I strongly recommend this tire if you value great traction, comfortable ride in all four seasons with the additional benefit of reasonable price. In all my years of driving, this has been the best tire I've ever owned.
Watch the video attachment from tire rack all the way, it will help you understand the importance of choosing the right tire, just because it is a high line tire doesn't always make it worthwhile.
On the track, they only made it to 3rd or 4th place. In real world driving conditions, it's my opinion that they are #1 in all the right places.

As a true all purpose tire these are great. No issues on icy, snowy forest service roads this winter. The tread wear seems reasonable so far. Not quiet as refined as a dedicated all season tire but a good compromise if you want the extra trail capability.
