Most wet traction scores are 7-10, with many 9s/10s praising reliable grip. A few lower ratings exist, but the Geolandar G91F performs well in wet conditions as expected for all-season highway use.
The Yokohama Geolandar G91F delivers strong dry traction, with most scores 7-10. Customers report confident grip and responsive handling, excelling as a highway all-season tire. A few lower ratings note occasional concerns, but overall satisfaction is high.

...Steering is predictable but not responsive. There's a lag when turning probably due to softer wall but tracking is predictable even when cornering at higher speeds...
I "upgraded" this tire to well rated by CR and tirerack Continental Purecontact. So this review is how Yokohama rides compared to Continental tire.
Compared to grand-touring Continental Purecontact Yokohama G91F rides softer, is less noisy and does not make loud "thud" sounds when going over larger potholes. Steering is predictable but not responsive. There's a lag when turning probably due to softer wall but tracking is predictable even when cornering at higher speeds. They seem to have good grip and don't spin in wet when accelerating from stop. Overall I thought replacing Yokohamas was going to be an upgrade all around, yet I found that they do offer qualities that surpass highly rated Continentals.
One thing I wanted to mention is that Yokohama G91F appear to roll at least as well as LLR Continentals, although I did not have much time to test that.

These tires feel like you're driving a sports car in Spring and Summer. Corners incredibly well, responds well, and feel awesome. Then winter hits and you're on ice skates. I understand these are "Highway All-Seasons", but what's the point in putting highway tires on a Crosstrek? Completely useless in anything other than asphalt. When push comes to shove, these are great tires for one season. There are a lot better tires out there for what this car can handle, these just aren't it.

...Dry traction is pretty decent...
These Yokohama Geolander 91F tires came as the OEM tires on the 2014 Subaru Forester. As a winter oriented vehicle, I am not sure why Subaru put this tire on the Forester. It has to be one of the worst all weather tires I have ever experienced. In moderate snow, 2-3", they had no traction at all even with the Subaru all wheel drive. Dry traction is pretty decent and wet traction is moderate. If you live in an area that gets no snow, these might be okay, but if you live in a snowy climate, I would recommend avoiding this tire.
I replaced these tires today with General Altimax RT43 tires as I did not feel safe having my wife and children relying on these tires. It is snowing here today and 0 degrees F. Traction is much improved and my confidence in the vehicle has improved for this weather. The Subaru feels as it should now in the snow with the General Altimax RT43.

Most customers rate comfort highly with scores of 8-10, praising smooth ride and low noise. High marks in these areas highlight excellent highway refinement for all-season driving.

...Very comfortable ride and great handling... I am in the process of changing the wheels and putting these tires on my wife's 2017 Forester Touring model to improve the ride comfort...
These tires came on my 2015 Forester and I have 84,000+ miles on them. My dealer says I have nearly 40% tread life left -- amazing!! Very comfortable ride and great handling. Mostly highway use in my case. Would definitely buy again. I am in the process of changing the wheels and putting these tires on my wife's 2017 Forester Touring model to improve the ride comfort. The Touring model has 18" rims and 55 profile series tires which contribute to a much harder ride.

...Ride comfort is clearly the tires strong point of these tires, as road noise is very well control and over smooth surfaces the ride is very good and smooth, though some of this quality is lost over rough surfaces. But the tires still perform adequatly over broken surfaces, potholes, and so on...
These Yokohama Geolanders were stock tires for my 2014 Subaru Forester and have seen about 1700 miles of driving. Though I would not purchase these tires again for a few reasons they are still decent tires, at least in the conditions that I have experienced so far. But, that being said there are clearly better choices out there. My biggest problems is that I spend a combintion of time on backroads and on the highway and these are designated Highway All Seasons and in certain instances it really shows. For example, the tire's cornering ability in the dry is OK, but in the wet it needs to be greatly improved as it clear that even at low speed corners these tires are at the limit of their road holding abilities. There is also the fact that these tires offer very little in the way of steering feel/response. Ride comfort is clearly the tires strong point of these tires, as road noise is very well control and over smooth surfaces the ride is very good and smooth, though some of this quality is lost over rough surfaces. But the tires still perform adequatly over broken surfaces, potholes, and so on. As soon as the winter weather hits the East Coast I will be updating this review to include the winter weather driving capibilites of these tires. But my conclusion for now is that these tires seem counter intuitive on a Subaru, a car manufacturer that prides itself on their vehicle's all-weather capabilities, something that these tires do offer when things get wet, but they do provide decent dry weather confidence and good comfort but little else.

Most customers praise the Geolandar G91F's treadwear, with many scoring 9s and 10s. While some note variability, the majority highlight impressive longevity, ideal for highway all-season driving.

These tires might just end up lasting the life of the car with mileage like that. I might have to replace them only because I want an all terrain tire, otherwise they are great on the road. A nice smooth quiet ride. They aren't race tires, but they are quality commuters.

...After 32,000 miles on these tires and there is still 8/32 of tread left. I have these tires rotated every 5,000 miles or less and keep the tire pressure near maximum...
Best OEM tire I've had on any vehicle. I drive mostly highway and I drive the same in wet and light snow as I do in dry at highway speeds of 55 to 70 mph. No hydroplaning. This is my first All Wheel Drive and it has anti-sway so I don't know if that helps with the stability. 32,000 miles on these tires and there is still 8/32 of tread left. I have these tires rotated every 5,000 miles or less and keep the tire pressure near maximum. There is nothing I can say bad about these tires. I hope Yokohama hasn't discontinued them unless they replaced them with something better.

These tires came on our car and still have a lot of tread on them at the 50K mark. The typical experience is that original equipment tires do not last long, yet these hold the road well, have just begun to get a bit noisy, but are still very good in wet conditions. We have followed a strict rotation and air pressure regime. When I took the car to a tire dealer to have the tires evaluated he couldn't believe the car had 50,000 miles and recommended I get another set of Yokohamas. We certainly will.

Winter traction receives mixed ratings, with many scoring 0-5. Customers report lack of winter traction, slippery in snow, and mediocre winter performance despite being an all-season tire.

Tires are OEM on Forester, dangerous in light snow, horrendous at stopping in anything less than 2 inches. Heavier snow actually helps but only slightly. All wheel drive gets the vehicle moving but very unsafe feeling due to their lack of traction...

...These tires seem like summer tires in this stuff ... a Forester with all wheel drive. Does Subaru test these tires in any sort of weather conditions before certifying them for new vehicles? I will be dumping these soon and recommend anyone doing any winter driving to do the same.
My first experience with the Geolander tires was on my 2003 forester. After 37000 miles and 10 puncture flats they were done. Those tires slid on anything wet and were worthless in snow. I replaced them with BF Goodrich traction TA's and could not believe I was driving the same car. In 30K miles on that tire I never had a puncture flat. Next up a 2009 Outback with Potenza's. In 55K never a puncture flat. In this 2014 Forester at only 2500 miles and once again on Geolanders I once again am into puncture flats. These tires seem fairly quiet and compliant on the road, except on some freeway grades they are seriously loud and bumpy and make you think you have a flat tire. Very disconcerting. Over the last month in MN we have had 2 to 3 inches of snow on city streets here continuously. These tires seem like summer tires in this stuff ... a Forester with all wheel drive. Does Subaru test these tires in any sort of weather conditions before certifying them for new vehicles? I will be dumping these soon and recommend anyone doing any winter driving to do the same.
