Yokohama  Geolandar X-CV

I was worried about these Yokohamas not lasting more than 15,000 miles but to my surprise, they lasted 40,000 miles! Just ordered the next set. Range on the Model X barely changed. Road noise is slightly more than OEM, but BARELY. They handle well, wet or dry and they were great in the snow too. But, the treadlife on these is the icing on the cake!

After 11k miles, through one of the worst midwestern winters that we've had in several years, these tires have been incredibly versatile. Light snow, deep snow, slush, and ice have not been a problem with these tires. Wet and dry traction are excellent. They are quiet and provide a comfortable ride, and after 11k miles are showing very little tread wear. I'm calculating that we'll get 40k-50k miles out of them - on this car, that's saying a lot. Will definitely buy again.

I tried these out on my Infiniti FX as a replacement for the stock Bridgestone tires, and was very disappointed. The sidewalls are VERY soft, and you could really feel that while driving. Turn in was very slow and lazy, and quick maneuvers were not possible. I also had lots of problems with the traction control kicking on, especially in a spot with a slight elevation change in a corner where my very worn OEM tires were fine. These were very quiet and smooth, however, so if that is what you are looking for then they are great. I ended up having them replaced with Michelin Latitude Sports, we will see how those are comparatively.

These are my first Yokohama tires, but I purchased them based on the rating for winter traction. I have not been disappointed. I needed to do some mountain driving and encountered snow, and the tires kept me on the road without slipping. These are firmer tires than I am used to, and so they are a little louder and less smooth than the Vredestein's that I prefer (but can't get for my current vehicle). They have resulted in a small decline in mileage, but not enough to be a big problem. I expect these to last long and continue to provide excellent traction and wear.

Given my Porsche Macan Turbo has different size requirements front vs back, I was a bit limited on selection of quality all weather tires. The Yokohama Geolanders are doing very well so far in early winter snow conditions in the mountains.

Probably some of the best tires I've had on any car. Much better than the Pirelli Scorpion Zeros my car came with. Still new but the tires in dry/damp conditions are amazing with almost no noise.

I did extensive research before choosing these tires when it was time to swap out the Yokohama Advan summer OEM tires. The Advans were shockingly quiet and comfortable and I didn't want to trade down. Fortunately, these Geolanders are excellent. They are not as quiet as the previous set, but are well within a range that most of us would consider acceptable for a luxury or sporty SUV, just some mid and high frequency tones at highway speeds on smooth pavement that improved after break in. They have performed well in heavy rain, near 0 degree temperatures, and light snow. They ride firm, but very comfortable. Dry pavement performance, steering response, straight line tracking, etc. are all excellent. I would not hesitate to buy these again.

So far these tires have exceeded my expectations. My previous Pirelli Scorpion Zero A/S tires were down to 5/32 and slipping all over the place in the Michigan rain and snow after only 16k miles. With a staggered 21 inch setup on my Mercedes GLS there weren’t many winter/snow friendly options to choose from so after much research I settled on these Yokohama Geolandar X-CV’s and so far they are proving to be a major upgrade. Traction in west Michigan snow and ice has proven to be excellent - these tires offer confident driving in treacherous conditions including driving through several inches of snow, slushy roads, and even some ice. Even with 315’s on the back wheels there is minimal tendency for the back end to slide around corners which is pretty amazing. The wet and dry traction on these has also proven to be very solid at sub 40 degree temperatures. Only downsides I’ve experienced so far is that they are slightly noisier and don’t ride quite as smooth as the previous tires but not a major difference. Hoping to get a lot more tread life out of these than the Scorpion Zero A/S but will see. Overall I feel these were the best choice out there given the options available and very pleased so far. Highly recommended if you live in a colder climate where you have to contend with a lot of snow but don’t want to deal with swapping out summer and winter tires each season.

Very comfortable ride, but steering response seems a little sluggish

I had always wanting a new set of tires for my Audi Q7. All tires are very expensive, the cheap one doesn’t last a year! Until I came across these Yokohama tires. They are very affordable compared to other brands. I have to said, these tires are much comfortable and smooth driving. I am glads I make the right decision. I would definitely 100% recommend these tires to anyone! Yokohama live up to their name! Not like other brands.

I work in sales, and I have a 3 hour commute to my territory. So I drive a lot, both on highway and in cities. These tires are excellent in every regard: they are quiet, hold the road very well, have excellent traction in all conditions, and appear to be long-lasting. I estimate that I still have at least 60-65% of the life left after 20k miles. Regarding the question of would I buy this tire again: yes, but I think I would opt to go to a slightly taller 255/55-R20 size. Volvo and Tire Rack don't recommend this size but I have read several posts that it fits and improves the ride. To be clear, my ride is very good with the current tires and is a HUGE upgrade over the General G-Max tires I previously used, so this is personal preference and not an "issue" with the current tires.

A bit nervous buying a non foam-filled (noise reduction) tire for my Tesla. However, I found the Yokohoma Geolander's to actually be quieter than O.E. (Continental) tires. Treadwear has been minimal, which is a significant change from O.E. tires. I installed adjustable camber arms for the rear suspension in hopes of addressing excessive tire wear on inside shoulder, they appear to be working. One note: At very low speeds, when maneuvering, there is a growling noise from the tires. Suspect that it is tread "squirm" but have no proof/data. Overall, extremely happy with the Yokohama's.

These tires are worth a review.
My OEM tires were bald at 24,000. MB says the GLS550 just eats tires. These at 25,000 might have another 15 to 20k. Two downsides. 1) They are not run flats.
No spare in GLS550. 2) I learned what a soft tire wall feels like. I do a bunch of interstate highway driving. If I drive over 90 MPH, the sidewall does not feel firm enough. Under 85, rides great.
And the biggest plus is that these tires are QUIET. I mean that.
