Good solid unit. No real faults or issues in use. It does what it is supposed to do as advertised. A few things I wish Viair would improve/change. I wish the air hose detached. Also wished the unit didn't get so stinking hot while using. And does it have to be so loud? The bag is just slightly too small to easily fit the unit etc. Make one tiny mistake in wrapping up the hose or battery connectors and it will be next to impossible to stuff back into the bag.

Bought it for offroad, wanted to air down for trails, air up after for road. It was quick and the cords were long enough to reach all 4 wheels while hooked to battery. I also was pleased it had battery clamps, better than having up go through car doors both sides. Quality was good. Would recommend.

I purchased the Viair P88 for peace of mind. When traveling out of town I wanted a way to fill a tire should the TPMS indicator light up on the dash due to a foreign object being picked up by the tire and causing a slow leak. The compressor would allow me to air the tire and drive to a tire repair shop or drive where the ground was level enough to jack up the vehicle and put on the spare tire. The Viair is all metal except for the handle. All compressors generate heat and the metal construction allows the heat to dissipate at a quicker rate than plastic would. The compressor is deigned to run up to 25 minutes @30 PSI. Then it needs to cool for 35 minutes. I don't know why anyone would ever need to run the compressor for 25 minutes continuously but if they did it can do it. The cordless units I looked at could run for 10 minutes before having to cool for 10 minutes. On the cordless models you have to worry about the battery being charged and the battery exceeding its storage rating temperatures hot / cold when stored in a vehicle. In addition the battery has a limited life span. Viair said the compressor life is at least 100 hours of use if the duty rating is followed. This model is designed for tires up to 33 inches. On Viair's web site you can see the instructions, specifications and dimensions of the compressor. This compressor will be still working long after I'm gone. Viair customer support is great. They respond to any questions by email within a day and you can call them direct too. The Viair P88 connects to the vehicle's battery. It's easy to use: Ensure the switch is off, connect it to the vehicle's battery, connect it to the tire, make sure the vehicle is running and turn the compressor on. When the pressure gauge matches the air pressure you are trying to inflate to turn the compressor off and check the pressure gauge again. That's all. I bought the Viair on Tire Rack because of price, delivery and customer service. Tire Rack had the best price.

This little fella works great! Just clip it onto the battery and go. Everything seems to be built with quality in mind. Great for track days!

Got a great tire and wheel package from Tire Rack ( BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT235/75R15 ) and then shopped around and found that this tire inflator is well-regarded and the best price was here, so I ordered it. Works very well and I can reach my farthest-point rear wheel and even my back-door mounted spare on my Ford E150 conversion van with some thought and effort. So nice to not have to find a garage that has air whenever I need to adjust or add air. This pump is not anemic at all and pumps up tires quickly. The built-in air pressure gauge works well, seems to be accurate and is handy.

Just got a tire and wheel package from Tire Rack for my heavy duty conversion van and wanted to be able to manage my tire pressure without having to go to a garage or tire shop. My BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A K02 LT 235 75 R15's are great tires and this air pump can more than handle any inflation tasks I may have. The inflator works very well and fairly quickly will bring up the tire pressure to where I want it. It seems fairly well constructed and the power cord length and air hose are sufficient to service all four wheels easily, and the rear-door mounted spare with some effort. The carry bag is a little small for the unit: and care has to be taken to not unduly stress the air out aperture to hose when stowing away. With hardly any gas stations having free air anymore and the hassle of going to a garage or tire shop just for air: having one of these in your vehicle or garage is pretty much a necessity.
