Pads cut as one-offs from Hawk (thanks, Hawk!) for a 1990 Celica ST converted to a fully caged 24 Hours of Lemons race car.

Our car is light (~2500 lbs) and nose heavy. That said, the Hawk ER-1 have been more than enough (arguably more brake than we have tire) to support a full weekend of endurance racing (~16 hours on track) and then some. Based on wear, we can probably comfortably get 2 full Lemons weekends out of these before we'd be ready to swap in a new set.

Good thermal management (we're running factory brakes - rotors up front and drums in the rear) when paired with DOT6 fluid and stainless lines. Dusts excessively (as expected). Came with stickers (bonus points).

Needs a bit of temp to get a good initial bite, but even cold they remain manageable. Solid modulation available over hours of racing.

I tried these out for the Miata. I usually run DTC60's for my Civic track car, but the brake bias is better so you don't lock up as often. In the Miata, they lock up quickly and often. If your tires cannot handle the brakes, you will lock them up. If you have ABS you should be fine, I guess. I have no nannies in my track cars. Tried DTC60's in the Miata and it had no modulation and locked up easily. I had to adjust my driving style and could not trust it into hard braking and also be confident in chasing. I had to switch back to ER1-ERS, whatever the model name is, from DTC60's in the Miata because they modulate better even on stock calipers. This is for the fronts only. The rears I can use DTC60's since they rarely get up to temp on 30 minute sessions.

We race in lemons racing circuit. The pads worked good, but for the cost of the pads there is is Hawk brake pad that works better for less cost.
