Disc brake pads and rotors are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Read More.

Hawk's HP Plus Sport Pads (Enhanced Compound) are designed for use on the road, as well as provide a high level of performance at an Autocross or Track Day event. Hawk has now combined the best of both HP Plus and Street/Race compounds by maximizing the stopping power and fade resistance of their HP Plus (Original Compound), while maintaining the street and track versatility of Street/Race. Due to the aggressive nature of this pad compound though, increased noise and dust should be expected over other street compounds.

The HP Plus (Enhanced Compound) displays lower pad wear and noticeably improved rotor wear over the previous HP Plus (Original Compound) while exhibiting less temperature sensitivity, for improved modulation and driver confidence.

All HP Plus product manufactured after July 16, 2018 is manufactured with the new, enhanced compound.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • New, enhanced compound improves wear for longer pad life
  • Extremely high friction level for responsiveness and resistance to brake fade
  • Suitable for autocross and track day events
  • Elevated temperature resistance

Note:

Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.

Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads must be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used with. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

I've used Hawk HP Plus pads on my track day Miata for many years. This time I put them on my NSX in anticipation of a track day. Same great all around performance. Great on the street and for me, great on the track. I wash the wheels each time I wash the car, but so what, I'd do that anyway.

Running these on the front of my vehicle. My first experience with them was at an SCCA Pro Solo event. Very hot day and these brakes held up perfectly with the back to back AutoX runs. My car is strictly an AutoX car that gets driven to events and on occasion around town on nice days. Yes, the pads are dusty, and yes they can be noisy as well, but that's expected for such an aggressive compound.

Really like these for AutoX and will probably continue to run these until I can get my hands on the HPX compound that's said to come out soon.

Overall, I really like these brake pads. I like the pads street ability with some autocross or light track day use. The brakes provide adequate braking in cooler temps and great performance when warm. I have not had these pads on for heavy track days as I switch to a more dedicated style pads. The brakes do make noise when using on the street and produce a significant amount of dust. I rate the noise and dust lower. I expect this with a streetable track pad and am OK with it.
