Hawk's HP Plus Sport Pads (Original Compound) are designed for use on the road, as well as provide a high level of performance at an Autocross or Track Day event.

The high friction level of Hawk HP Plus (Original Compound) pads will be more responsive than most standard original equipment brakes and their high resistance to brake fade makes them a superb upgrade for driving enthusiasts. Due to the aggressive nature of this pad compound though, increased noise and dust should be expected over other street compounds.

NOTE: Hawk HP Plus Sport Pads built before and on 07/16/18 were manufactured using their original compound versus their new, updated compound.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Suitable for club and autocross events
  • High friction level for responsiveness and resistance to brake fade
  • Elevated temperature resistance

Note:

Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.

Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads must be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used with. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Very good dual purpose pad, acceptable track performance, works well on the street as well. Have to be OK with very high amounts of dust, occasional noise depending on the condition of the rotors.

The combination kit of rotor and pads were a good match for spirited driving in mountains and some slight track time. Takes a little getting used to, as slow on initial bite, then strong all through the braking with great modulation. Braking distance was down and very consistent. Very little fade even after driven hard.

Excellent performance for lapping and perfectly fine for driving to the event. Even when I know they're getting too hot they still hold up so I can safely get off the track. The amount of dust they create is substantial, but an expected trade off.
