Disc brake pads and rotors are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Read More.

Hawk Performance HPS-High Performance Street disc brake pads are designed for sports car, coupe, sedan, pickup truck and sport utility vehicle drivers looking to improve brake performance and stopping power. Hawk Performance HPS Ferro-Carbon compound brake pads provide advanced braking characteristics to enhance the driving experience. This unique compound combines the safety and quality of aerospace design partnered with the braking technology of motorsports.

Hawk Performance HPS pads offer 20-40% more stopping power and higher resistance to brake fade than most Original Equipment or standard replacement pads. This makes them more responsive and durable than most standard original brakes and makes Hawk Performance HPS pads the first...and least expensive...way to increase the stopping power of cars and light trucks.

As standard brake pads wear, brake dust is released as the friction material wears in everyday braking. Hawk Performance HPS brake pads are formulated to run cleaner and release extremely low levels of dust in normal street driving.

Features and Benefits

  • High friction/torque hot or cold
  • Gentle on rotors
  • Very quiet, low noise
  • Improved braking over OE pads
  • Extended pad life

Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.

Note: Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

These brake pads have always been great. I can’t believe how low the dust is even though the rating doesn’t seem to be great. There’s less dust than all the other street performance pads I’ve ever used.

When I replaced the front brakes and rotors, I went with your drilled/slotted rotors and Hawk Super Duty Black pads. This setup was truly awful! the brakes sounded like metal-on-metal every time the brakes were applied. Indeed twice pulled the wheels to inspect the brakes just to make sure nothing was a miss, it wasn t. I purchased this set up because I was going to pull a trailer with a car on it to Nevada, and I also have an Airstream trailer. Hawk should not be selling the Black pads! Yeah they do stop, but otherwise they are crap! I like Hawk products and they support SCCA so they are good guys, but these pads have no place in today s market. When I called you about the problem, you took me to the right pads! Thanks!
