The Advantage T/A Sport LT is BFGoodrich's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire for drivers of light trucks, SUVs and crossover vehicles looking for handling and responsiveness to add some fun to the daily commute, combined with confidence in inclement weather. The Advantage T/A Sport LT is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance.

Tread Callouts

Advantage T/A Sport LT tires feature an advanced, all-season tread compound molded into a symmetrical design, allowing easy cross rotation to resist irregular wear. The tire's continuous center rib creates constant contact with the road, and combined with the optimized footprint provided by the Next Generation ETEC (Equal TEnsion Containment) System, delivers confident handling and high speed stability. Utilizing full-depth tread features helps to deliver traction mile after mile while the wide, circumferential grooves efficiently channel water through the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. 3D Active Sipe Technology sipes provide an increased number of biting edges for improved wet and light snow traction.

The tire's internal structure includes a two ply polyester body casing. Next Generation g-Wedge Sidewall Stabilizer inserts help control distortion during cornering, and two wide, steel belts with a spirally-wrapped nylon reinforcement deliver durability, ride quality and stability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...They are fine on wet, slushy roads and do pretty good when I'm occasionally on a dirt road, grass, gravel, etc...

Tires were quieter when new. After first tire rotation at ~7500 miles, the tires seemed a bit louder. This is my second set of these tires. I experienced the same with the first set; as they got older, they were a bit louder. That said, overall, I'm very happy with these tires. They are not as good as snow tires, but much better than other all-season tires that I have used on SUVs. They are not nearly as loud as snow tires also. They are fine on wet, slushy roads and do pretty good when I'm occasionally on a dirt road, grass, gravel, etc. I would probably purchase again if I am not running separate snow tires.

The tread design helps to divert and channel water to the sides and back lessening the potential for hydroplaning in heavy rain at high speeds. Provides excellent traction in slush and snow as well...

The purchase and delivery process was easy and arrived 2 days BEFORE scheduled to arrive. These tires were the 2nd set of Advantage T/A Sport LT tires, replacement tires to the original Goodyear OEM garbage that came with the truck. I've found that B.F. Goodrich tires are better in design, construction and performance than most other brands, particularly Goodyear. The Advantage T/A Sport LT provides a smooth, relatively quiet ride without sacrificing traction or tread wear. The tread design helps to divert and channel water to the sides and back lessening the potential for hydroplaning in heavy rain at high speeds. Provides excellent traction in slush and snow as well. I've found that with regularly scheduled rotation and proper inflation, to get about 15,000 more miles than advertised. All in all, a great Light Truck tire!

...Buffalo, NY has had some very challenging conditions lately, and I'm giggling because of what I can safely do with these tires... I do have a snow mode with this vehicle, so there's that, but still, I wouldn't have pulled off these handling, braking, and accelerating moves with the stock tires...

I did order a slightly over-the-recommended outer diameter for my vehicle, but fortunately, these tires are the uncut straight dope. I'm able to drive so much I have to slow down and act respectable near other drivers so they don't think they can pull off the stunts I'm doing. ...The dry traction is very grippy and inspires a lot of confidence especially taking turns at high speeds, they really surprised me...

They came on the car when I purchased used. These are an alternative sizing from the recommend 275/45R20. The dry traction is very grippy and inspires a lot of confidence especially taking turns at high speeds, they really surprised me. Although wet weather these tires performed quite the opposite, major amounts of understeer, no grip at speed, really had to baby turns. The XC90 does weigh about 6,000lbs so these tires get put to work. The ride is extremely cushy, paired with the air suspension felt like I was just floating over the road. Bumps and potholes were nothing, Made riding on 20 inch wheels feel like 18's. And noise was surprisingly agreeable for the aggressive looking tread pattern. I am now riding on a set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero Run Flats (275/45R20) in the interim and run flats are noisy and rough riding to start and the difference is night and day. I can feel every road imperfection and noise is nearly deafening in comparison to the Advantage. I'd swap them back in a flash if I could. I had to replace the set because one of the tires was damaged and couldn't be repaired. Wet performance is the only reason I would not consider to purchase a new set but wear seems to be exceptional and dry performance is very competitive with big brand performance sport tires.

...Dry cornering is sports car traction-like.

Ok so I waited to review because what good is a review with 100 or 1000 miles?
So overall this is a Great Tire Replacement above and beyond OEM, it is also the last company making tires in the USA A+
I have driven in all-weather elements and overall, these BFGoodrich tires shine A+
Dry cornering is sports car traction-like.
Wet No Issues, despite reviews to the contrary these tire shine in wet.
Snow, No Issues, as a pick-up owner everyone knows in snow rear wheel drive is useless in snow or rain even, these tires changed that. They are snow-covered road eaters. Sometimes I don't even need 4WD, which as I stated is saying something A+
Treadwear has also been very good A+, Rotate-rotate-rotate and you're all good. A+
To summarize, yes, I'd buy again and have bought for other vehicles, with similar results.
In my opinion these tires are "keepers" and I have no problem recommending them.
Cheers!

...The only edge I would give to Continentals over BFs is comfort and noise.

Normally I buy continental and recommend them to others. I bought my kids the Cntinental tires because I trust them but myself having 4x4 and a more experienced driver gave the BF Goodrich Advantage T/As because they were cheaper. I had them balanced and alignment on install. I still have my 08 Jeep and have been more than satisfied with these tires so much that I’m currently having my second set put on my new/used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I drive in snow, rain, sleet, icy, and dry conditions. Im very satisfied with the wear, handling, durability, and control in various conditions. I’ve never had tires that gave me this tread life and they are still good! I feel like the car sticks to the ground. I’ve bought a lot of tires over the years and the Continental and BF Goodrich you can’t go wrong. My personal ranking of tires would be Continental, BF, Goodyear, Michelin and way down the line Firestone. The only edge I would give to Continentals over BFs is comfort and noise.

...On that set I drove 72,000+ miles and tires were still serviceable...

Best tire I've ever owned, great mileage/treadwear. Superior customer service. Previous set of these same tires (2021) had road hazard damage, tire rack replacement was no charge and very prompt. On that set I drove 72,000+ miles and tires were still serviceable. I've had the best installation, rotation/balance/alignment at Firestone Service Centers. Had terrible experience at a different service center, not Firestone.
