The AVID Ascend GT is Yokohama's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for drivers of sedans, coupes, crossovers and minivans who want a refined ride and noise comfort combined with long life and confident all-season traction. The AVID Ascend GT is designed to deliver grip in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even light snow.
Yokohama BluEarth branding is used to identify an ecologically friendly series of tires that are designed to deliver environmentally, human and socially friendly solutions for drivers and their vehicles. AVID Ascend GT tires branded with the BluEarth symbol are identified on their Sizes and Specs pages.
The asymmetric pattern of the AVID Ascend GT helps optimize grip in all weather conditions, and the tread profile is specifically engineered to create a stable contact patch for improved traction and wear. The tread pitch variation and Outside Adaptive Shoulder Blocks are designed with a focus on noise attenuation for a quiet driving experience. Four deep, circumferential grooves utilize asymmetric widths to aid standing water evacuation through the footprint, while the inside shoulder features open notches to allow water to pass through. Yokohama's TriBLEND Compound Technology all-season compound utilizes a low-Tg polymer and high silica content for grip in inclement weather, and the Triple 3-D Sipes and notched tread blocks create the biting edges needed for light snow traction.
Internally, a polyester casing aids ride comfort and supports two wide, steel belts. A full nylon cover works with the square profile shape to help resist deflection under cornering loads for more controlled, predictable handling in dry and wet conditions while also providing high-speed capability.

Fantastic tires. I had the KO2's that came with my 2019 Jeep and compared to those tires, there is a VERY noticeable improvement in wet-road traction. SO much better!!! As one of the features touted for the KO3 in comparison to the KO2 (i.e. better wet road traction), it is nice to see that they really do what they say. Haven't had snow yet... and haven't ben off-road yet, but I'm expecting performance on par with the KO2s - which was solid. Wins all around!

Better wet traction than KO2s. Worked good for me on ice, and ice is tough. No problems with some trail and off-road, but I have no experience on them yet in hard four wheeling. My MPG with the KO3 285/75/R17 is a little better than the 255/75 R17 mud tires that were on it (the tires replaced were not factory tires). I would buy BGF KO3s or Michelin LTX A/T 2 again.

...These tires provide a noticeably positive difference in handling and much better traction in wet conditions...
A couple of years ago, I had a set of KO2s on my Wrangler. By comparison, on my GMC 1500, the KO3s are mildly more refined yet worth the money. These tires provide a noticeably positive difference in handling and much better traction in wet conditions. Road noise isn’t nearly as drastic either. The one complaint I can echo is they are stone magnets - have flares or keep them tucked. Note: I have a 1.5 leveling kit on my Sierra and was able to successfully go with 285/60-20 without any rubbing.
Vehicle: 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali (New Style) 4WD Miles Driven on Tires: 7,000 Driving Conditions: Combined Off Road/Highway Location: QUAKERTOWN, PA Driving Style: Easy Going
Customers consistently praise the KO3's winter capabilities, with most scoring 9s and 10s in snow and deep snow traction. Ice performance also impresses, with ratings primarily 7-8, delivering reliable grip in rugged winter conditions.

I have not been in mud or rock crawling, but in snow and ice has been great.
I have had many sets of BFG K02 and they tend to have balancing issues. I was concerned these new K03 might, but my first set is great. They ride better than the Michelin tires ltx that were on the Jeep. I have not been in mud or rock crawling, but snow and ice has been great.

These tires are amazing. They are very heavy which does affect gas mileage but the confidence that I get from these tires, all worth it. My driveway is on an incline going out, in the country dirt. Just experienced heavy ice on the driveway with these new tires on my 2025 Nissan frontier pro4x. Drove out our driveway in 2 wheel just for curiosity and holy s--t I came out of there no issues. Snowy roads yesterday and went down town, held tight for the whole trip down. I will purchase these tires again no questions asked and to beat all they look amazing on my truck, even had a few buddies admiring them. They aren't cheap but you won't regret getting these KO3 tires.

...Kept moving in total control and watched at least 6 semi's overturn... and other trucks slide off the road... The KO3's were GREAT!!...
I've had KO2's on a 2012 Tundra, 2014 4Runner, 2016 F150, and now have the KO3's on my 2024 F150. The KO2's had great all-around traction...I ski often, off road a bit, and do a lot of highway miles... (200,000 on my 2016 F150). Disclosure...I don't use the MFG pressure recommendations because they call for the same front/rear. I drive a couple of weeks and inflate the tires till the wear pattern just reaches the edge of the tire... the aluminum bodied F150s, it about 50 front and 34 rear....also put Bilsteins all around as all the factory cares about is a smooth ride....
While I loved the KO2's the KO3's, so far, are better in every respect....I drove cross country for a 3 week Christmas and ski vacation...great handling on the freeway, excellent handling on narrow mountain roads, and VERY good when I awoke in Oklahoma City with a skating rink for a parking lot....then had to drive 6 hours in a snow storm on 40.... Kept moving in total control and watched at least 6 semi's overturn (don't these guys get it???)....and other trucks slide off the road...(I've been driving in snow since I was 16...now 71...)
The KO3's were GREAT!! I'd strongly recommend them on just about anything...
AND, TireRack told me that I missed the afternoon cut-off for next day delivery, but the arrived the next day anyway!!
Two thumbs up for Tire Rack and BF Goodrich for continued development of the KO series!!

My only complaint with these tires is I had a hard time getting them to balance. I got them road force balanced and it helped tremendously. Otherwise these are some of the best A/T tires I've had, they are are extremely tough i drive lots of rough back roads with mud and rock and they do great. Best part is honestly the snow performance I've taken them up some really rough snow covered hills and roads with no issues. Wet and dry traction has been great as well. Can't comment on treadwear I'm only 6k in on them
