The P Zero Winter is Pirelli's Performance Winter / Snow tire developed for drivers of premium sports cars, coupes, sedans and high-performance crossovers and SUVs. The P Zero Winter brings the same "P Zero" performance-driven design philosophies found in its summer and all-season counterparts to the winter climate by providing a high-level driving experience in snow, slush and wet conditions, as well as on cold, clear pavement.

Pirelli P Zero Winter Callouts
Pirelli P Zero Winter Callouts

P Zero Winter tires feature a performance-tuned winter tread compound molded into an asymmetric pattern engineered to stay flexible and maintain traction in cold temperatures. Deep transversal and shallow-angle channels work in conjunction with wide circumferential grooves to evacuate water and slush from the contact patch, while increasing snow traction and braking. Inboard tread elements utilize high-density lateral siping for increased traction in slippery conditions, along with longitudinal sipes for increased lateral stability. The inboard and intermediate ribs feature zig-zag elements engineered to retain snow in the grooves, which increases snow-to-snow traction. Further outboard, tread elements feature brickwork pattern siping, which increases both longitudinal and lateral stability by creating more biting edges while maintaining the shape of the contact patch for clear road handling.

P Zero Winter Performance Winter / Snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

...I have had them off road hunting, handles well in deep mud and wet surfaces...

Love the tires performance on highway and spring/summer/fall conditions. I have had them off road hunting, handles well in deep mud and wet surfaces. Recently got them out in 16"+ inches of snow. OUTSTANDING. These are my third set of tires and easily outperform BFgoodrich AT's and Toyo Open Country AT II's. I will be upgrading my other two vehicles to these tires as well.

They plow through a foot of snow without slipping, sliding, or spinning. Even on ice, they don't trigger ABS.
I can't stress enough how fantastic these tires are in nearly every aspect!

...We in norther MD experiences Snow, and Ice storm and rain 2 weeks after I bought them and they performed flawlessly...

Stock tires that came on my 2024 Ridgeline were Firestone AT/2 245/55/18 I moved up to the Dueler A/T Accent 255/60/18. I was expecting cornering to be impacted by the slightly 1.3” taller sidewall but I have noticed it is more planted then the originals were. We in norther MD experiences Snow, and Ice storm and rain 2 weeks after I bought them and they performed flawlessly. No increase in tire noise as well as bumps and potholes don’t feel as impactful. I got them installed at Mr. Tire with no drama. They balanced with hardly any weight and are pretty amazing.

...If you don't need strictly a snow tire, then these will do you good same with off roading - dry pavement and so on...

Best around tire I have purchased and I have had many top brand tires. They do everything good to decent, and I would recommend them to anyone that doesn't need a tire to do just one driving experience alone. If you don't need strictly a snow tire, then these will do you good same with off roading - dry pavement and so on. But remember not all vehicle's take the same size tire so my GMC Cayon Denia doesn't use the same size tire as its twin chevy Colorado and same with some other vehicles. The tire sizes make a difference in performance in most all areas.

...Ride Quality: These are remarkably smooth. They absorb pot-holes and washboard gravel significantly better than the stock tires. There is zero vibration and the steering feel is excellent- direct and planted...

I wanted to love the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent. On paper, it is the "Goldilocks" tire I’ve been looking for: a 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rating for Idaho winters, aggressive "Cobra" sidewall looks, and marketing that claims it matches the Michelin Defender LTX for highway comfort.

The Good: The engineering here is undeniably impressive.

Ride Quality: These are remarkably smooth. They absorb pot-holes and washboard gravel significantly better than the stock tires. There is zero vibration and the steering feel is excellent—direct and planted.

Performance: I've taken these into dirt and wet conditions where the stock tires would have slipped, and the Ascents just grip. The 3PMSF rating isn't just a sticker; the compound stays pliable in the cold, and the siping eats up wet roads. If you need one tire to handle an unplowed commute and a summer road trip, the capability is definitely there.

The Bad (and the Irony): Here is the deal-breaker for the "silent tire" crowd. Everyone claims this is the quietest All-Terrain tire on the market, or even a "hybrid" highway tire. It is not.

I came from the factory Goodyear Wrangler Territory ATs, which are admittedly mild, but they were nearly silent. I expected the Ascents—with their fancy noise-canceling tread pitch and "Enliten" technology—to match that. They don't.

The Noise: There is a distinct, audible hum at highway speeds (55-75 mph). It isn't the aggressive roar of a Mud Terrain, but it is a constant background drone that simply wasn't there with the stock Goodyears.

The Verdict: If you are coming from aggressive tires like KO2s or Wildpeaks, the Ascent will sound whisper-quiet to you. But if you are coming from factory H/T or mild A/T tires (like the Territorys) and you are chasing pure silence, you will be disappointed. These are fantastic performers, but don't believe the hype that they are "silent." You are definitely paying a noise tax for that cool sidewall and snow rating.

...Add in they are quiet, comfortable for towing, and get better than average grip on dirt and gravel roads.

Bridgestone hit a home run here. TLDR: an AT with winter tire performance and a warranty. I live in the PNW mountains right at the snow line where freeze thaw gives us the worst possibly driving conditions (try grabbing a dry ice cube then get it wet and try the same). Blizzak DMV2/LT's and studs dominate here because the "flat land" winter tires (Michelin X-ice, Continentals) just aren't adequate. Problem is that this 8,000lb truck goes all over so I tear through winter tires. I have BFG KO2's which are fine in deep snow but terrible in ice so I sought a tire to bridge the gap and that's exactly what these are. Basically, if you rated them as an AT tire they'd be towards the front of the pack. Rate them as a pure winter tire they'd be mid pack. But I can't find a single tire other than these that can do both. I drove them back to back against our AWD car with Conti Vikingcontact 7's (imo, these are below average studless tires) and these were more predictable, cornered better, and handled emergency situation simulations far better. Didn't have the all out braking ability but my truck is 4000lbs heavier so that's a tough comparison. Add in they are quiet, comfortable for towing, and get better than average grip on dirt and gravel roads.

...After 12,000 miles, lots of remaining tread. No flat spots after sitting for a while...

Much better than the stock Honda tires. I would consider these over the 265/60R-18 Kumho Road Venture AT52 SL I bought for the Wife's car. Much more confidence in the lake effect snow belt. After 12,000 miles, lots of remaining tread. No flat spots after sitting for a while. Kumhos feel like they develop flat spots after a few days of sitting.

...I'm glad I went with these over the Blizzak LT; these have beefy lugs and lots of siping, but the compound should last a long while (rotating the tires regularly)...

Got these for the Silverado EV to replace the stock Alenza A/S 02 highway-oriented tires for the winter season. I’m glad I went with these over the Blizzak LT; these have beefy lugs and lots of siping, but the compound should last a long while (rotating the tires regularly). The traction on wet roads, gravel roads and in a wide range of snowy conditions has been excellent. Road noise is minimal, and they’re a comfortable ride. Very minimal hit to efficiency over the stock tires, which is also a pleasant surprise. These seem like a competitive alternative to Toyo Open Country ATIII EV, and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a good year round tire. It has handled deep snow really well, ice traction isn’t amazing but it’s been on par with other tires I’ve ran on icy roads like the Blizzak DM-V2.
