The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is Continental's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sports coupes, performance sedans, SUVs and CUVs. Designed to improve upon key metrics compared to its predecessor, like braking in dry and wet, along with increased traction in snow and ice, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is built to deliver skillful handling and high-speed capability with increased confidence for inclement weather, even in light snow.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus Callouts

Featuring an updated, performance-tuned all-season tread compound molded into an updated asymmetric tread design and utilizing SPORTPLUS+ Technology, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is built for enhanced handling and braking performance. Macro-Blocks and Chamfered block edges help improve ultimate dry road traction and provide increased cornering responsiveness. Generous high angle and circumferential grooves help evacuate water from the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. 3D sipes help retain handling precision while increasing the number of biting edges for improved wet traction, while X-Sipes are utilized to improve lateral and longitudinal grip in inclement weather. Traction grooves within the circumferential channels further enhance winter weather traction by improving snow-to-snow traction.

ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS tires feature an Alignment Verification System to help identify vehicle misalignment concerns early in the tire's life before wear patterns form. The system also confirms suitability for different driving conditions through Tuned Performance Indicators. Tuned Performance Indicators are visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has appropriate tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. After the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only.

The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS incorporates a high strength, 2 ply sidewall construction for improved resistance to damage, along with a Sport Sidewall Insert for increased handling responsiveness. Continental's new high-strength, triple action, hybrid cap ply helps combine the positive attributes of a stiffer cord material for improved handling characteristics, while simultaneously retaining the benefits of a more flexible cord, helping maintain a smooth and quiet ride with an optimized contact patch for even wear and longer tread life.

Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Reviews

Owners report excellent comfort with a smooth, quiet ride (8-10 scores) and strong dry traction offering confident handling. Treadwear receives praise for longevity in typical all-season use, though some note variability. Wet performance is generally reliable with good hydroplaning resistance (7-9 range), while winter traction shows limitations-scores dip to 3-5 in snow/ice, suggesting cautious use in harsh conditions. Dry cornering stability and responsiveness stand out as key strengths, aligning well with grand touring expectations. While most appreciate its year-round capability, winter-focused drivers may find traction lacking compared to other seasons.

The tires handle great on wet roads. I drive long distance to take care of my mother so that was important.

...The wet weather handling is well worth a few extra bucks.

These tires are what the factory installed new and work exceptionally well on an odd skateboart of a car. These tires trick this car into handling averse road conditions like a much bigger vehicle. The wet weather handling is well worth a few extra bucks.

...Good traction and been tread wear...

Purchased a used Prius V with these tires already installed so it is unknown how many miles the previous owner had driven on them. Since I have long commutes I have already driven 54000 in 2 and 1/2 years.
I have driven on many types of tires and was never a fan of Bridgestone based on other reviews and tests but these tires are excellent performing tires in all situations . Of course I do not try driving in heavy snow .
These tires still have almost 5k of tread left therefore they probably will made the 60 k mark . I do drive sensible most of the time . Tires are still very quiet and comfortable and I have averaged approx 48 MPG on this awesome Toyota. Good traction and been tread wear.
I would recommend mend these green tires for all around driving and good gas mileage.

I have 65K miles on these tires and they will easily outlast the 70K mile warranty. They get great gas mileage, last along time and do well on traction. They aren't high performance sport tires so if you want cornering speed try a performance tire. If you want a tire that performs very well, last a long time and get good gas mileage these please consider these tires.

Purchased and installed myself Nov 2013, over 66k miles on this set as of Dec 2017, and still has 6/32 tread left, mostly highway driving and normal tired rotations every 5k-7k miles. These tires should make 75k miles before I replace them, and I will be purchasing them again.

Purchased and installed myself Nov 2013, over 66k miles on this set as of Dec 2017, and still has 6/32 tread left, mostly highway driving and normal tired rotations every 5k-7k miles. Has provided a comfortable ride quality, and acceptable performance. Average fuel economy is 23-25 mpg with the highest of 27 mpg on a long trip. Previous tires were far more harsh in road feel and noise, with a lower fuel economy on average of 0.25-0.50 mpg less. These tires should make 75k miles before I replace them, and I will be purchasing them again.
