Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 M+S Rated All Season Car Tire in 255/40R18

Can't understand what all the hubbub is about this tire. My car has mild suspension modifications and I recently removed a set of Conti DWS tires to send back to Conti for a refund (thank you Tire Rack for your assistance). So, re-installed the OEM Bridgestone Turanzas and was amazed at how much better the ride was, not to mention the extremely sharp steering response. Have driven this tire in snow, ice and extreme rainstorms and it got the car through everything--no complaints. In one case, drove up a small hill to a motel room (off Interstate 40), didn't realize that the hill was covered with ice, until I tried to walk back down it. The tire has a very good ride compared to other tires that I have used, best steering response ever (it reacts like the tires in the Bridgestone commercials), what a blast to take through the twisties...but must remember that it is not a performance tire. Even with that, it has proved to be impressive overall. Reinstalled replacement tires and wheels (from Tire Rack) and kept the OEM Bridgestone Turanzas for future driving. If I need another set of tires, I would buy them again, or the new replacement version. I suspect that people who have massive complaints about them, might have something wrong with their suspension system, shocks, alignment, et.al., or they are looking for performance oriented tires, which these were never meant to be.

These Bridgestones were original equipment on my 2011 Camry. They are very quiet and grip well when braking or cornering, but tend to break free on hard acceleration from a stop. Tread wear is better than expected given the DOT rating. I expect to hit four 32nds at around 35,000 miles, typical for OEM tires.

Don't understand all the hate for this tire. For an OEM at nearly 30,000 miles of spirited driving it has exceeded expectations. When "newer" has been the best tire ever had for through light snow. Great dry and wet handling. Overly stiff and a little noisy when starting out in cold weather but normally works itself out in a few miles. I will caution that once these tires start to wear the hydroplane resistance goes in a hurry. Still above the wear bars but will take my wife's car in a heavy rain as will now slide very easily across the road. Other than that - excellent tire. Rated "Probably Not" is a reflection of current purchase price. There are much better selections such as the Pirelli Cinturato P7's for less than this tire's price point. As good a tire it may be the cost makes it a poor value as a replacement tire.

These came new on my Camry and at 15,000 miles I am glad to be looking for something else. My driving is in the City and handling, braking, and wet traction were poor right out of the gate. Hitting bumps and the tires would let you know it. Stay away from these.

Lasted about 40,000 miles of mostly highway driving with some spirited driving thrown in. Tires are good in the dry but are garbage when it turns wet or snowy especially for braking. Tires offered decent fuel economy but for the price, there is no reason to buy this tire again.

These tires are stock on my 2008 Sentra 2.0S. They are and always have been absolutely terrible in the rain. Every since the car was new it would lose traction in the slightest bit of rain. Forget taking this car in the snow with these tires, as all it will do is spin them. I had about an inch of snow in front of the car in a parking lot and it wouldn't climb over it even with the car in Low.

I am aware that some 2007+ Sentras are known for wearing tires because of an alignment problem in the rear from the factory, but mine doesn't have the alignment issue. These tires are essentially worn out at 30,000 miles and are actually beginning to seperate. I made sure it wasn't out of alignment and I also made sure that they were rotated. I have also seen several other Sentras with these tires and most of them around the same mileage as mine with same worn out tires problem. I cannot say how much I appreciate how awful these tires truly are. Thanks to Bridgestone for an awful set of tires and shame on Nissan and the other manufacturers for using them.



In closing, I would NOT reccomend these tires to anybody. They're not worth the money they cost new. I would look at the better alternatives out there before remotely considering these.

These came on my 2009 Honda Civic. I hydroplaned even when I first bought the car brand new and the tires were new. Snow and ice were impossible. I drive rather conservatively so I was surprised when the tires were worn at 32,000 miles. The dealer said that they usually wore out between 30-40K. I drive conservatively so I don't know how someone would make it to 40K. I also had a belt brake in one of these tires right before I was going to replace them anyway. I've never had that happen before. I just don't feel safe with these tires and I am disappointed that they are the standard civic tires. I'll know in the future to have the tires replaced if I buy another new car.

Let me be clear; THESE ARE THE WORST TIRES I HAVE EVER OWNED.

I cannot believe a reputable company like Toyota puts these tires on its vehicles. I have had issues since the day I drove off the lot with these things.

First, they are unbelievably noisy and uncomfortable. The road noise is so bad, I brought the vehicle back to the dealer 2 times thinking there was a mechanical issue. They even had the wheel bearings checked on the car thinking that was the noise. They also could not get the wheels balanced correctly and I still get vibration and steering wheel shake (others have complained of this as well). I cannot wait to dump these pieces of garbage for a quiet, smooth tire!! I am seriously contemplating ripping them off the wheels with only 8000 miles on them come spring!!

Secondly, do not even attempt to use these in winter. I live in Rochester NY and never ever had too much of an issue with an all season tire in all my years of driving (until I had these). My old car had all-season Kumho's and I never had an issue going through 3 harsh, heavy snow winters. The first snow fall this season with these pathetic Bridgestones, I was stuck in a FLAT parking lot, spinning away. After I got out, I was quickly stuck again in my driveway. I immediately ordered a set of winter tires to avoid killing myself with these jokes of a tire. Read the reviews; even damp weather driving is dangerous. Even living in the arctic -------- hole of Upstate New York winters, the only other time I ever needed winter tires previously was when I owned a vehicle with hi-performance summer tires. (16 years of winter driving experience, i might add).

Do yourself a favor, and do not buy these tires. I could live with the horrible traction in the snow (and just buy winter tires) but the dry weather road noise and vibration is just plain unacceptable. If I had to rate these tires they would fall under DUMPSTER FIRE in a Somalian Junkyard category.

These tires came with the car new.They have just been terrible.Absolutely zero or less traction on snow and ice and not much better in the rain.I would stay away from this tire.

Harsh ride. Noisy. Low rolling resistance. Feels every bump in road. Bad mpg.

Im only at 23000 miles and the tires are worn beyond their age. I do mainly highway driving and one tire after only 23000 miles is going bald and the others have lost a lot tread. Not only have the tires been rotated regularly but they have also been filled with nitrogen the entire time Ive had them. While the tires do not handle that bad they do lead to a bumpy ride and from people Ive talked to who have driven in snow they say they have no traction in the snow at all.



DO NOT BUY THIS TIRE FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:



1. First and foremost they do not last



2. They are more expensive then other tires that are better.

3. They are more expensive and more bumpy then other tires.

4. They are more expensive, more bumpy, and handle worse then other tires.

These tires are HORRIBLE. I honestly can't think of anything positive concerning them. Flat spots, poor balance, road NOISE, hydroplaning, unexplained vibrations, these tires provide them all. I've driven the same model Cadillac for years, and they've always come with the best Michelins, until my '06 which was supplied with Continentals. I thought they were horrible tires until I experienced these Bridgestones. I wish I were exaggerating the problems I've already experienced with these Bridgestones, and if I keep them, I shudder to think what I'll experience with them in the winter and when they reach 10K or more miles, my Cadillac will probably ride like a Conestoga wagon, and I'll have to shout at my passengers over the road roar. And don't even bother with Bridgestone or Cadillac customer service, completely useless on both accounts, just pass the buck from one to the other with neither taking responsibility for anything.



If your car has these tires as standard equipment, INSIST that the dealer trade these tires before you will even consider taking the car home. You'll save yourself alot of headaches, as well as many scary moments at the wheel.

They are bald at 19500 miles of very relaxed driving, I beat EPA mileage. So it is unbelievable how fast they wear in these driving condition. Or this tire is no made for the weight of the van. They are ok on wet and dry, but I don't push my vehicule at all, so it is difficult to rate cornering etc.

I don't know why these tires got such a bad review. They came standard equipment on my wife's car and we have no bad things to say about them except, maybe tread wear. They rode well, were quiet, and handled snow as expected. But with 24,000 miles and about 50% tread wear and winter coming (we live in central Maine), we replaced them with new Goodyear Eagle LS tires. They were on sale at a good price. We would buy the Bridgestone tires again if we could get them at a good price. Will have to wait and see how the Goodyear's pan out.

REALLY noisey...treadwear is poor at best. Love my Altima V6 but, will get Michelin Primacy or Goodyear ComforTred next
