The AVID Ascend GT is Yokohama's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for drivers of sedans, coupes, crossovers and minivans who want a refined ride and noise comfort combined with long life and confident all-season traction. The AVID Ascend GT is designed to deliver grip in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even light snow.

Yokohama BluEarth branding is used to identify an ecologically friendly series of tires that are designed to deliver environmentally, human and socially friendly solutions for drivers and their vehicles. AVID Ascend GT tires branded with the BluEarth symbol are identified on their Sizes and Specs pages.

The asymmetric pattern of the AVID Ascend GT helps optimize grip in all weather conditions, and the tread profile is specifically engineered to create a stable contact patch for improved traction and wear. The tread pitch variation and Outside Adaptive Shoulder Blocks are designed with a focus on noise attenuation for a quiet driving experience. Four deep, circumferential grooves utilize asymmetric widths to aid standing water evacuation through the footprint, while the inside shoulder features open notches to allow water to pass through. Yokohama's TriBLEND Compound Technology all-season compound utilizes a low-Tg polymer and high silica content for grip in inclement weather, and the Triple 3-D Sipes and notched tread blocks create the biting edges needed for light snow traction.

Internally, a polyester casing aids ride comfort and supports two wide, steel belts. A full nylon cover works with the square profile shape to help resist deflection under cornering loads for more controlled, predictable handling in dry and wet conditions while also providing high-speed capability.

Continental CrossContact LX Sport Reviews

Owners report excellent comfort with smooth ride quality and low noise levels (7-10 scores), along with strong dry and wet traction (8-10 ranges) that delivers confident handling in most conditions. Winter traction shows variability, with many praising snow capability (7-10) but noting limitations on ice and in deep snow (0-6 scores). Treadwear raises concerns, as many ratings fall below 5, indicating shorter-than-expected lifespan despite the tire's touring focus. The balanced all-season performance suits crossover/SUV drivers prioritizing comfort and wet/dry grip, though those needing frequent winter use or extended mileage may want to weigh tradeoffs.

These tires have been great. They have been excellent in the rain, which was my main focus when purchasing tires. It is a quiet tire, smooth, and the tire tread is good in sand, dirt, and street.

Ford chose to make these the OEM all season tire for the Edge ST's 21" wheels, and it was a good choice on their part. These tires have no issues gripping on ice or snow, and they give almost the steering feedback and predictability when on the edge of grip as the other OEM option, the summer-only PZERO. That being said, tread life was pretty poor, I'm scheduling replacement at 30,000 miles. Despite the poor treadlife, I'll almost certainly be re-purchasing these as the all season performance is good enough to make up for the short life.

This tire is best I've ever had. I have 130k miles on my 2016 volvo xc90 and only two sets of LX Sports 101V. Got 65k from the first set and am still going on the second. Planning to buy a third set in Fall. First set, I lived in Chicago/MW and second set I lived in IL, NJ, CA and now FL. I've driven in ever condition (hurricanes, tornados, floods, blizzards, dust storms, off road, -20F to 110F and never had an issue with these tires, not even a flat. If you want to get the most out of your tire, this is the one. I keep all 4 tires at 39-40 PSI even though Volvo says 38. Maybe that has helped.

...In dry weather, these tires respond very well...

OEM tires came with my off-lease 2020 Stelvio. I have put 30,000+ on them in 2 years of spirited driving (53,000 miles total and counting), and I have rotated them every 10,000 miles. I really don't have any complaints about the tires. They are wearing "well" despite my hard cornering. The Stelvio handles unlike any car I've ever driven, and I appreciate how quickly I can change lanes and dart around slower traffic. In dry weather, these tires respond very well. In wet weather, the tires get a little slick (as expected), but I also don't drive aggressively in wet weather. The stopping distances, grip from a stop, and cornering stay true, so I still drive with confidence. The tires also stay true and quiet at high speed when motoring down the highway. All-in-all, I have been pleased with these tires and would buy them again.

These tires came s standard equipment on my 2021 GMC Acadia SLT. The tires have been decent for traction and road noise but their wearability is quite poor. I monitor my tire pressure frequently, rotate as needed and make sure my alignment is good. Tread wear has been very even on all 4 tires. But with only 26,000 miles I'm getting close to the wear bars. For the cost of these tires there are a lot better options. The Continental CrossContact LX25 for about the same money would be a much better choice.
