The Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar® is Goodyear's premium On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for light truck drivers looking to combine on-road competence with off-road versatility. Offered in Standard Load sizes for half-ton vehicles, Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar tires are also available in Pro-Grade Load Range E sizes for three-quarter and one-ton pickup trucks, vans and SUVs that regularly haul or tow heavy loads.

Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar tires feature a longwearing, specialized rubber tread compound (Pro-Grade tires use an even more chip- and chunk-resistant tread compound that enhances wear in high-torque applications). These compounds are molded into a multi-faceted symmetric tread design that combines rugged looks along with on-road comfort and off-road traction. Open shoulder blocks and traction ridges at the base of the outboard circumferential grooves help clear mud and snow (Pro-Grade tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol).

The sidewall rubber compound features Goodyear's Durawall Technology to protect the olyester cord body by resisting cuts, punctures, scuffing and abrasion

The tire's internal tructure includes twin, high-tensile steel belts reinforced by a spirally wrapped layer of next-generation DuPont Kevlar* cord to combine strength with comfort (Pro-Grade belts feature thicker steel cords reinforced by two layers of spirally wrapped DuPont Kevlar cord).

Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar (On-Road All-Terrain)
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab in the parking lot
A behind-the-wheel experience on the autocross course showed Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure tires gripped the corners on wet asphalt.

Goodyear provided an opportunity to experience their Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar® tires in Colorado Springs, CO, one of America’s top areas for outdoor recreational activities. They offered several on-road and dirt-road experiences behind the wheel of a variety of SUVs and pickup trucks in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains.

Driving a long wheelbase Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab through a parking lot autocross course may not be the most intuitive way to experience an On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tire. However, its asphalt handling and traction are very important since this type of tire will typically spend more time on-road than off. And while no one would mistake this vehicle/tire combination for a sporty coupe on Goodyear Eagle performance tires, the Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar provided good grip, predictable handling and capable stopping traction in both dry and wet conditions.

In order to cover today’s ever-growing range of light truck vehicles, Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar tires are available in Standard Load metric sizes, as well as heavy-duty Load Range E LT-metric sizes. Goodyear identifies the heavy-duty sizes as Pro Grade tires for drivers who work hard and play hard, and are often faced with hauling heavy loads or towing large trailers for work or recreation. A 1 ½-hour scenic drive would provide the opportunity to experience both versions.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab on a hill
Driving on Rocky Mountain canyon roads demonstrated the Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure lived up to its name on gravel and dirt.

Starting out from Colorado Springs in a Chevrolet Tahoe on the 265/70R17 Standard Load metric tires, the route headed south on the road. The Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar tires provided appropriate ride qualities and proved to be very quiet on the road. The route went into the mountains and followed the canyon roads to higher elevations. As the asphalt ended and the graded dirt roads began, the tires’ open shoulders and multi-faceted tread blocks delivered predictable steering response and traction on dirt.

Reaching the mid-point destination, we had the opportunity to change vehicles and drive a Ram 1500 Crew Cab on Pro Grade LT265/70R17 Load Range E tires for our return. The Ram’s driver doorjamb tire placard called for 40 psi cold inflation pressures and we were again treated to a quiet, comfortable ride for the trip back to town.

While we didn’t get a chance to truly challenge the off-road capabilities of the Kevlar-reinforced treads or Durawall Technology sidewall rubber, past experience confirms both contribute to the tire’s toughness and strength.

Continental SportContact 6 Reviews

Customers think the Continental SportContact 6 delivers outstanding dry traction (frequent 9-10 scores) and strong wet performance, with consistent praise for grip and hydroplaning resistance. Comfort receives positive feedback for a performance tire, though some note a firmer ride and occasional road noise. Treadwear is a common concern, with ratings showing significant variability (0-10 range) and several reports of faster-than-expected wear. Drivers highlight precise steering and confident cornering as key strengths, aligning well with its max performance summer focus. While most praise its dry/wet capabilities, the mixed treadlife feedback suggests it may trade longevity for outright grip.

...After, a few onths in various weather conditions, I concluded the only difference was the Continentals are better in the rain.

This was my third of fourth time buying these tires for this vehicle. My initial question was why do they cost $1100 less than the Michelins. After, a few onths in various weather conditions, I concluded the only difference was the Continentals are better in the rain.

These tires have amazing straight and cornering dry grip and exceptional wet traction...

These tires are the best I have had on any of my vehicles ever. I tried Michelin tires on my Audi RS5 and they wore fine; however, on center steering was poor and were very noisy compared to these specific Continental tires. These tires have amazing straight and cornering dry grip and exceptional wet traction. They are the quietest tires because of the tread design and the sound-deadening foam strip on the inside of the tire. I have even raced on a 3.1 racetrack with these ultra performance street tires and they were perfect! So, they are perfect for daily driving and spirited driving.

Best tires on the market. Grippy, handle really well in heavy rain, great on center feel, great cornering feeling, and ultra quiet. Better than any version of Michelin tires I’ve tried.

Fantastic tire. Really confident on dry pavement. Never any issues in wet, but then it’s a heavy EV with AWD. Competed in an Autocross with 12k miles on them and these tires were pretty darn good. Aired them down and they stuck. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

...Excellent grip, sidewall strength, and quiet...

This is the OEM tire from Honda for my Type R. I love these tires. Excellent grip, sidewall strength, and quiet. I cannot give a wet traction review because my car hasn’t ever been driven in the rain. It’s a weekend/sunny day joy car. The tires don’t last much past 10k miles because they’re so soft. And that’s being pretty gentle with them. I’m sure I could thrash them in about 6k miles, but I just don’t drive hard All the time. I’m not a granny driver either, I pick my spots to have some fun. This is my second set of SportContact 6’s, and I’ll get them again 100%.

...What is also impressive and mentioned another reviews is the fact that they are rather comfortable for summer tires...

I was motivated to post a review given that so many other reviews seem to be skewed by the short tread life of these tires. I’m very particular about tires. I have been impressed with these on the audi. They have grip approaching competition tire levels. Hydroplaning resistance is good, not exceptional. But what is exceptional Is the tires ability to maintain wet grip and decent hydroplaning resistance beyond 50% wear. What is also impressive and mentioned another reviews is the fact that they are rather comfortable for summer tires. The most overlooked feature of this tire is the relatively low price. Yes, you may need a new set every year, depending on other variables, but they are literally half the price of the off-season tires that came with the car which only lasted 16,000 miles. If you push your car every now and then these are great tires. If you drive your SQ8/RSQ8 like a Q8, then you might want to consider all seasons. The OEM Hankooks, while super expensive, were excellent tires for more sedate driving.

I was worried that going to a dedicated summer performance tire from an all season might exact a significant toll on ride comfort. I was very surprised that this was not the case. Perhaps the Audi spec (AO) version has a softer sidewall?...

I was worried that going to a dedicated summer performance tire from an all season might exact a significant toll on ride comfort. I was very surprised that this was not the case. Perhaps the Audi spec (AO) version has a softer sidewall? These tires are slightly softer feeling than the Hankook Dynapros that came on the car and seemingly have a fraction less feedback than the all seasons which is very unusual. If my observations are correct, perhaps Hankook specifically designed the AO Dynapro to be a super high performing all season tire. I shied away from the Michelin 4s SUV and Pirelli PZ4s because I through they might be too harsh on the SQ8. I'm not disappointed with the Continentals, but I was thinking they would be more aggressive in their handling traits and responsiveness. Overall a very polite tire with an aggressive tread, nice looking sidewall and tenacious overall grip. They're quiet now, but they're also brand new. Can't go that wrong with these tires on this car. Also, they were almost $300 per tire less than the all season Hankooks!

Wow, I should have really read the negative reviews more because now I'm writing one for the very same reason. The treadwear on these tires is horrible. The only lasted 8 months on great roads in South Florida. I simply cannot believe they are done after only having them 8 months. I don't thrash my car around, more like middle aged man take the on-ramp with some speed once in awhile. I'm considering trying to get some warranty replacements on them but it seems like Continental/Tirerack won't lift a finger. I was happy with their performance overall, but the treadwear is simply a deal breaker. I don't know who would want to be buying 2 sets of tires within the space of less than a year.
