The Sportnex CR-S is Nankang's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for track day participants, motorsports enthusiasts, or any driver looking for competition-ready levels of dry traction and handling. Designed for maximum performance in warm, dry to damp conditions, like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, the Sportnex CR-S is not intended to be stored, serviced, or driven in near-and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Nankang has designed the Sportnex CR-S from the ground up with performance in mind, featuring a new tread compound created to quickly reach ideal operating temperature; this track-optimized blend is molded into an asymmetric tread design built for speed. Broad-shouldered outer tread elements utilize minimal void for maximum lateral grip. An intermediate circumferential groove aids in heat dissipation during especially aggressive driving, and can aid the two inner grooves in evacuating water from the contact patch to resist hydroplaning and keep drivers in control.

The internal construction of the Nankang Sportnex CR-S features a two-ply, polyester casing to enhance handling and stability. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area and are reinforced by a sturdy Aramid cap ply to further improve handling and high-speed capability. The Sportnex CR-S boasts a sidewall compound designed to aid in heat management while enhancing stiffness for a reactive, yet predictable driving experience.

All future and in-stock Sportnex CR-S tires are comprised of Nankang’s updated V2 compound.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Tires put on truck beginning of December 2025. Just getting a feel for their performance. We have quite a bit of snow here in New Hampshire and the tires are performing well. Start and stop traction on both snow covered and wet roads is excellent. When in 4 wheel drive there are no problems. The tires are basically brand new with ~1000 miles so performance is as expected.

Great tires. These tires are actually a size bigger (1 inch taller) than oem so I was a little worried how they would feel but they've been great. Living in Buffalo NY I have already experienced a lot of ice and snow with these tires and they've been good. The traction in snow has been amazing. I accidentally drove into a grass lot covered in about 4 inches of snow and felt the truck sink but had no issue at all getting out in 2 wheel drive. I have experienced some slippage on my icey driveway that does have a pretty steep incline. Sometimes I do have to throw my truck into 4x4 when backing into it when there's a lot of ice but it isn't a huge deal and I figure that would be the case with most non winter tires if not all. The noise on these tires are actually just as quiet as the all season highway tires that were on the truck when I bought it so no complaints about that. If you want an aggressive tire that isn't overkill that's good in the winter and dry roads, I would 100% recommend the road and trails.

...Combined with the wheel drive, i had no problems with any condition from hard packed snow to drifts over a foot deep...

I live in Upstate New York, about 14 miles south of the southern shoreline of Lake Ontario, a prime lake-effect snow region. I replaced an older set of Cooper A/T tires with the Road & Trail. I was primarily looking for a set of tires that would replace the need for snow tires in the winter. The Road & Trails were quieter, smoother riding and stopped the 4Runner's tendency to wander at highway speeds. As we come out of a more normal winter, I can say that these tires easily replaced straight snow tires. Combined with the wheel drive, i had no problems with any condition from hard packed snow to drifts over a foot deep. I plan on staying with this tire when it replacement time.

Initially, I wasn’t sure these Cooper Trail AT tires would work out but I liked the aggressive pattern, speed rating and winter tire rating. So far they are exactly what I was looking for. They handle the snow and ice with ease and are good handling on the highway. I commute to work after this recent winter storm I have not had a problem getting in or out of anything. Sometimes not even need in to put my truck in 4 wheel drive. They also absorb potholes and uneven payment really well, much better than my previous set of Crugen 51’s. I like the Crugen’s but I like these more.

Pleasantly surprised all around with this tire.

Hope they still make them when these need to be replaced in a few years.

I have put over 25000 miles on the Cooper tires and they look like new. I feel like they should last 60000 miles easily.

I am extremely happy with these tires. My previous set of tires (Falken Wildpeak AT Trail) had to be replaced with only 13000 miles on them. I understand that was partially my fault because of bad upper ball joints. Having that issue fixed I have put over 25000 miles on the Cooper tires and they look like new . I feel like they should last 60000 miles easily. They handle great and they have very good traction in mud with low noise on the highway. This was my first set of Cooper Tires but it definitely won't be my last .
