The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is Continental's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sports coupes, performance sedans, SUVs and CUVs. Designed to improve upon key metrics compared to its predecessor, like braking in dry and wet, along with increased traction in snow and ice, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is built to deliver skillful handling and high-speed capability with increased confidence for inclement weather, even in light snow.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus Callouts

Featuring an updated, performance-tuned all-season tread compound molded into an updated asymmetric tread design and utilizing SPORTPLUS+ Technology, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is built for enhanced handling and braking performance. Macro-Blocks and Chamfered block edges help improve ultimate dry road traction and provide increased cornering responsiveness. Generous high angle and circumferential grooves help evacuate water from the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. 3D sipes help retain handling precision while increasing the number of biting edges for improved wet traction, while X-Sipes are utilized to improve lateral and longitudinal grip in inclement weather. Traction grooves within the circumferential channels further enhance winter weather traction by improving snow-to-snow traction.

ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS tires feature an Alignment Verification System to help identify vehicle misalignment concerns early in the tire's life before wear patterns form. The system also confirms suitability for different driving conditions through Tuned Performance Indicators. Tuned Performance Indicators are visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has appropriate tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. After the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only.

The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS incorporates a high strength, 2 ply sidewall construction for improved resistance to damage, along with a Sport Sidewall Insert for increased handling responsiveness. Continental's new high-strength, triple action, hybrid cap ply helps combine the positive attributes of a stiffer cord material for improved handling characteristics, while simultaneously retaining the benefits of a more flexible cord, helping maintain a smooth and quiet ride with an optimized contact patch for even wear and longer tread life.

At 60000 miles and I estimate they’ll go at least 80000 before needing replacement. Traction is great in all conditions and noise, comfort, and ride quality are all good. Cornering and braking were noticeably improved from the OEM tires as soon as I drove them off the lot. Fuel economy is down about 2 mpg, but that’s expected as these are not eco tires.

...I did drive in snow and these tires performed exceptionally well - but that was with new tread on a Subaru, so they probably aren't as good on a FWD vehicle...

These tires replaced OEM Continental Procontact Tx, which I got 62K miles out of and they still had life; I could have exceeded 70K. The Continentals were very good tires for OEM although one did start to cause noise so I stopped rotating after 50K.

By comparison, the Cooper’s are quieter and the ride quality is improved. Braking and handling are what you’d expect. I wish cornering stability was a little better, but otherwise it’s good. I did drive in snow a couple times and these tires performed exceptionally well - but that was with new tread on a Subaru, so they probably aren’t as good on a FWD vehicle. I’ve experienced no issues driving in the rain.

At 15K, the tread depths are wearing evenly at 8/32. These tires had 10/32 when new. I expect to get 60K miles out of them. For around $120/ tire, these are a great value and I recommend them.

I have studded snow tires but have used these in a few light (3 inches or less) snow storms and did well for not being heavily voided.

I like them. They are quiet, channel water away very nicely, wear like iron but still soft somehow and grip the road. I have studded snow tires but have used these in a few light (3 inches or less) snow storms and did well for not being heavily voided.

The Cooper Endeavor exceeded my expectations. Road noise is very low, steering response highly predictable and consistent on wet and dry road surfaces of various material composition. Beyond 70 MPH the Endeavor handles very well on the 2002 Buick LeSabre. Pushed to limits of lateral traction in maneuverability the Endeavor provides consistent tactile feedback and predictable traction recovery without abrupt transition. Would definitely buy again. A truly excellent 15-inch tire and well worth the price paid.

...Safety, ride comfort and noise are my big concerns, these tire check all those boxes nicely...

I started using the Cooper Tire brand recently looking to save a few bucks on vehicle consumable parts. These tires are, in my opinion every bit as good as the GY tires I was using for years before, but about $25 less per tire. I am not that discriminating when it comes to handling characteristics, since these are on my old Volvo sedan. Safety, ride comfort and noise are my big concerns, these tire check all those boxes nicely. They are new still, but I suspect they will last at least 3 years since the tread wear warranty is like 65K miles.
