The Azenis RT660 is Falken's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for motorsports enthusiasts, participants in track days, or any driver looking for competition-ready levels of dry traction and handling. The Azenis RT660 is designed to provide maximum performance in warm, dry to damp conditions, and like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, it is not intended to be serviced, stored, nor driven in near-and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Falken Azenis RT660 Callouts

Utilizing a motorsports-inspired tread compound enhances the traction delivered by the Azenis RT660 for acceleration, braking, and handling in dry and wet conditions. The low-void, symmetric pattern maximizes the rubber in contact with the surface. Massive shoulders deliver extreme levels of lateral grip, and the broad, continuous center rib provides solid on-center feel and longitudinal traction for acceleration and braking. Deep, circumferential grooves and full-depth notches help evacuate water from the contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance.

The internal construction of the Azenis RT660 features a two-ply, polyester casing utilizing Falken's Crosshatch Carcass design to enhance handling and stability. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area and are reinforced by two polyamide cap plies to further improve handling and high-speed capability.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Customers Say

Customers think the Falken Azenis RT660 delivers excellent dry traction with sharp turn-in and consistent grip, making it a standout for autocross and track use. Wet performance is decent in light rain but struggles with standing water. Treadwear is praised for a 200TW tire, though some report rapid wear, chunking, or cording after aggressive track sessions, especially on heavier cars. Heat management is key, as they can feel greasy during prolonged sessions. Enthusiasts appreciate their predictable handling and competitive edge, though tread longevity varies with driving intensity and alignment setup.

  • 111 negative

Customers praise the RT660's wet traction, with scores 7-8 noting confident handling in rain and damp conditions during spirited driving. While not designed for heavy downpours, many highlight predictable grip and stability in wet scenarios, though hydroplaning can occur in standing water. Ideal for performance-focused use, they excel when driven cautiously in light to moderate rain.

I have almost no under steer now and wet traction is why better now too. I feel comfortable driving mildly aggressive in the rain...

I had upgraded from the falcon 615s and what a difference in traction. The 660s fit my wheels so much better where the 615s were a little stretched. Dry traction is exactly what I was hoping to achieve with these tires. I have almost no under steer now and wet traction is why better now too. I feel comfortable driving mildly aggressive in the rain. Noise level is what you would expect from this type of tire. I haven’t noticed any bad vibration when the tires are cold. Overall a very good summer tire that doesn’t try to kill you when it rains. I would absolutely recommend these tires to others.

...What really surprised me about these tires was how well they worked in the rain. Yes, they were easier to hydroplane, but they are extreme performance summer tires and didn't do that much worse than the all-seasons that came on the car...

I had these on my 2002 Mustang V6 Autocross car and loved them. I had 15-17 events on them with a decent amount of street driving to and from the track and driving to work every once in a while. These tires killed it on course. There was a ton of grip and the tires were very predictable. The sidewalls were very stiff, providing a lot of good steering response and lateral stability.

What really surprised me about these tires was how well they worked in the rain. Yes, they were easier to hydroplane, but they are extreme performance summer tires and didn't do that much worse than the all-seasons that came on the car.

I sold the car with those tires a few weeks ago, and they were still in good shape. I don't know how many more events they had left in them, but there was a lot of street driving for sure. I got a newer Mustang to replace my old one with and the first thing I bought for it was a set of these tires. I cannot recommend them enough.

Customers praise the RT660's exceptional dry traction, with many scoring 9s and 10s for its "sticky" grip, precise cornering, and confidence-inspiring performance in autocross, track days, and HPDE events. Reviews highlight quick warm-up, predictable handling at the limit, and consistent lap times even in high heat, though some note greasiness on very hot days. A top choice for enthusiasts prioritizing aggressive dry performance.

...The RT660 heats up faster, faster response and predictable. Faster exit out of a turn as well. Dry Traction is definitely a lot better compare to the Ventus RS-4...

Finally got the first shake down with these tires at Roebling Road and I must say, these tires are amazing for the price. I ran Hankook Ventus RS-4 previously and the RS-4 does not come close in my opinion. The RT660 heats up faster, faster response and predictable. Faster exit out of a turn as well. Dry Traction is definitely a lot better compare to the Ventus RS-4. I Have yet to drive these tires in the rain but I am sure they will do just fine if not better. I will definitely buy another set in the future!

...I bought these with a set of Motegi Racing wheels specifically for a track day and they bite! I couldn't push my car hard enough to break traction. Zero understeer...

If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive track day tire I would stop looking right here. I bought these with a set of Motegi Racing wheels specifically for a track day and they bite! I couldn't push my car hard enough to break traction. Zero understeer. Super predictable. Zero warm up period. The only time I had loss of traction was accelerating out of a corner then the inside tire would slip. Another point, they had an unusual size available for my specific needs. Falken/Sumitomo has earned my respect and I will be fitting all my vehicles with Falken/Sumitomo tires as they wear out.

P.S.
I learned through this purchase that Falken is owned by Sumitomo Rubber CO. If you're in need of a cheaper tire with what I would assume the same great quality perhaps check out the Sumitomo brand.

...performed really well compared to other 200 tread tires. Way much more grip and minimum fall out once it gets over heated. Very linear break away characteristics on the limit.

Anyone whose complaining about tire getting greasy once it gets hot You should know that all DOT tires looses its peak performance once it gets hot, passing its optimum operating temperature range.
I would say if you are seeking more grip than this RT660 200 tread tire You really need to move into a different tire category like Hoosier.

Based on my track experience with RT660, It performed really well compared to other 200 tread tires.
Tire has stiffer side wall than SUR4G and RS4 from Hankook.
Way much more grip and minimum fall out once it gets over heated.
Very linear break away characteristics on the limit.
This tire lasts longer and has more grip than Nankang AR1s .

  • 132 negative

Customers praise the RT660's treadwear in Extreme Performance Summer use, with many scoring 8-10 for lasting through 10+ track days, 100+ autocross runs, or 10,000+ miles when driven primarily in dry conditions. Reviews highlight consistent grip across heat cycles, even wear patterns with proper setup, and impressive longevity for a 200TW tire-some noting they outlast competitors like RE-71Rs. While rapid wear is expected in track/autocross roles, users emphasize value given the tire's dry performance focus.

These are great tires for autocross. Driving a front wheel drive hatch there was a great deal more wear on the fronts than the rear (to be expected)
These tires do not like to get too hot - so after a few runs I need to spray them down before the next run

I am not that impressed with them in the rain. especially on the highway

This tire has performed wonderfully, fantastic dry grip and corners like nobody's business. This is a high performance summer tire, 200 tread wear, so wet is not its best friend. This tire has lasted me exactly 10000 miles daily driving and 8 HPDE trackdays. Best lap times starting third lap and will start to drop off at the seventh lap. Gets to temp quick. Likes higher tire pressure. For the price and how long its lasted, track and daily driving, will be buying again.
