The Azenis RT660 is Falken's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for motorsports enthusiasts, participants in track days, or any driver looking for competition-ready levels of dry traction and handling. The Azenis RT660 is designed to provide maximum performance in warm, dry to damp conditions, and like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, it is not intended to be serviced, stored, nor driven in near-and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Falken Azenis RT660 Callouts

Utilizing a motorsports-inspired tread compound enhances the traction delivered by the Azenis RT660 for acceleration, braking, and handling in dry and wet conditions. The low-void, symmetric pattern maximizes the rubber in contact with the surface. Massive shoulders deliver extreme levels of lateral grip, and the broad, continuous center rib provides solid on-center feel and longitudinal traction for acceleration and braking. Deep, circumferential grooves and full-depth notches help evacuate water from the contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance.

The internal construction of the Azenis RT660 features a two-ply, polyester casing utilizing Falken's Crosshatch Carcass design to enhance handling and stability. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area and are reinforced by two polyamide cap plies to further improve handling and high-speed capability.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Extreme Performance Summer - 2024 Test 5 Part 1(22:25)

EP tires wear two distinct hats. They’re great on sporty and high horsepower vehicles conquering the everyday road and on those same vehicles as they dominate in various races and track days. The nuances here are many as increased traction and performance in one of these arenas can mean a tradeoff elsewhere. This two-part test lays it all bare and reveals just how close, but different, this category can be!

Falken Azenis RT660 Reviews

Performance reviews suggest the Falken Azenis RT660 excels in dry traction, with drivers praising its "telepathic" grip, sharp turn-in, and consistent performance during autocross, track days, and HPDE events. Many note it warms up quickly and handles heat better than competitors, though some report greasiness in prolonged high temps. Wet traction receives mixed feedback-adequate in light rain but prone to hydroplaning in standing water. Treadwear is praised for a 200TW tire, with users reporting 8-12 track days or 100+ autocross runs, though heavy cars or aggressive setups may cause accelerated wear. A recurring concern is tread delamination under extreme use, though most find durability acceptable for dedicated performance applications.

...On the Miata they last a long time and also provide excellent grip over a long period of time. These have longevity close to the Hankook RS4's...

This is my number 1 tire choice for track day use. I have been running these on my NB miata since they came out and I also ran the 315/30/18s on my C5 Z06 and they were great on that as well. On the Miata they last a long time and also provide excellent grip over a long period of time. These have longevity close to the Hankook RS4's but seem to show better laptimes and even look batter in my opinion. Just bought another set today while on sale.
