Customers Say
Performance reviews suggest the Falken Azenis RT660 excels in dry traction, with drivers praising its "telepathic" grip, sharp turn-in, and consistent performance during autocross, track days, and HPDE events. Many note it warms up quickly and handles heat better than competitors, though some report greasiness in prolonged high temps. Wet traction receives mixed feedback-adequate in light rain but prone to hydroplaning in standing water. Treadwear is praised for a 200TW tire, with users reporting 8-12 track days or 100+ autocross runs, though heavy cars or aggressive setups may cause accelerated wear. A recurring concern is tread delamination under extreme use, though most find durability acceptable for dedicated performance applications.

While optimized for dry conditions, users note consistent lap times even in hot sessions, calling them a top choice for enthusiasts prioritizing aggressive dry performance.

...Telepathic steering feel and endless grip...
Haven’t owned these a long time, so my road review would pretty worthless. But the main use for these tires has been autocross and in that respect they’re incredible. Telepathic steering feel and endless grip. The on road manners I have been able to experience have been just fine. I haven’t driven them in the wet but I don’t expect them to be amazing given that it’s a 200 treadwear autocross tire.

If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive track day tire I would stop looking right here. I bought these with a set of Motegi Racing wheels specifically for a track day and they bite! I couldn't push my car hard enough to break traction. Zero understeer. Super predictable. Zero warm up period. The only time I had loss of traction was accelerating out of a corner then the inside tire would slip. Another point, they had an unusual size available for my specific needs. Falken/Sumitomo has earned my respect and I will be fitting all my vehicles with Falken/Sumitomo tires as they wear out.
P.S.
I learned through this purchase that Falken is owned by Sumitomo Rubber CO. If you're in need of a cheaper tire with what I would assume the same great quality perhaps check out the Sumitomo brand.

...performed really well compared to other 200 tread tires. Way much more grip and minimum fall out once it gets over heated. Very linear break away characteristics on the limit.
Anyone whose complaining about tire getting greasy once it gets hot You should know that all DOT tires looses its peak performance once it gets hot, passing its optimum operating temperature range.
I would say if you are seeking more grip than this RT660 200 tread tire You really need to move into a different tire category like Hoosier.
Based on my track experience with RT660, It performed really well compared to other 200 tread tires.
Tire has stiffer side wall than SUR4G and RS4 from Hankook.
Way much more grip and minimum fall out once it gets over heated.
Very linear break away characteristics on the limit.
This tire lasts longer and has more grip than Nankang AR1s .

Customers praise the RT660's treadwear, with many scoring 8-10 for excellent durability through 60+ heat cycles and 10+ track days, noting consistent grip even as tread depth decreases. While some report accelerated wear on heavy cars or after extreme sessions, most highlight impressive heat tolerance and longer-than-expected lifespan for a 200TW track-focused tire.

...Sure, there are faster tires and others that last longer, but the RT660 sits right in the sweet spot between those two qualities.
Excellent track tire for both competition and exhibition. Sure, there are faster tires and others that last longer, but the RT660 sits right in the sweet spot between those two qualities.

Wet Traction Summary (Falken Azenis RT660 - Extreme Performance Summer): Reviews scoring 6 and below highlight mediocre wet traction, with concerns about hydroplaning in standing water and sudden loss of grip. Drivers report slippery performance in rain, noting unpredictable breakaway and limited confidence, especially on highways or during cold/wet autocross conditions.

...Depending on how much it's rained, I'd opt for something like and EC sport over the RT660's on track as these tires don't do too well in the rain compared to the RS4's as for 200tw tires...
My RT660’s get strictly used for track, HPDE and AX events. In the dry, they don’t take too long to warm up and get up to temp. They are fairly predictable compared to other compatible 200tw tires. Turn is is great and steering feel is good. Depending on how much it’s rained, I’d opt for something like and EC sport over the RT660’s on track as these tires don’t do too well in the rain compared to the RS4’s as for 200tw tires. Overall very happy with these tires in the dry. I’d imagine these would be fun to drive on a fun backroad as well, but would recommend getting some heat in them first

...I have never driven in rain but my guess is they would do pretty poor with how little tread they have...
Great tires for autocross or spirited driving. This is my second set. They are not a tire for driving any kinda milage however. I have about 550 miles on my set and they are definitely showing some wear with no track time.my alignment isnt super aggressive either. I also wish the temp usage range was better at 55F they are like driving on ice even with a low HP car. I have never driven in rain but my guess is they would do pretty poor with how little tread they have. My next set will be track use only and I'll try and find a 300+ TW for cruising.
