Falken WildPeak A/T Trail Ride Comfort-Focused All-Terrain Tire Good on Highway, Snow in 255/50R20

While you always have to make certain compromises when you buy an all-terrain style tire, I strongly believe this is one of the tires where the compromises are few and far between.

It's nearly perfect on a dry road, even in extreme cold. It handles rain well, though obviously cornering performance takes a bit of a hit.

Where I'm most impressed by this tire is its light snow performance. I've never had a better, more confidence-inducing tire in light snow. It even handles deeper snow reasonably well.

Just keep in mind this is not a dedicated winter tire, so don't go crazy in the first snowfall until you know how they react. But I'm perfectly comfortable driving with these in the wildly variable weather conditions in an Iowa winter. These have seen everything from 60 degrees and sunny, to 10 degrees with 5 inches of snow on the ground, to slushy/icy mixed roads, to temperatures 25 below zero, to 45 and rain so far. I've never felt unsafe or unable to make it where I need to go.

I'll buy these tires as long as they produce them for any SUV or light truck.

After several instances of losing traction in multiple conditions with the set of BF Goodrich Advantage T/A Sport tires I previously had on my vehicle, I decided to try the new Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tires. I am very glad I did! Falken has come a long way in the last several years and this tire is proof of that. Thus far, the dry, wet, and winter traction are phenomenal. Shortly after installing the tires, I encountered heavy rain, frost, and light snow conditions; the A/T Trail handled them all with aplomb. I still haven't had any instances of losing traction, even in heavy rain or varied snow, whereas the prior set of tires would've given up grip and sent my sliding. These tires feel sure-footed in all the conditions encountered in the 1,500 miles I've been driving on them. Compared to the previous set of BFGs, these Falkens outclass them in every category except noise. These tires do have a noticeable growl to them, but nothing annoying and they're not noticeable with the radio on with a moderate volume level. Considering they're an A/T tire, these are quite comfortable. They have a smooth ride, good road feel, and excellent response. They're essentially a more aggressive all-season performance tire with the added bonus of being more durable and rated for severe snow usage. The icing on the cake is that they're affordable as well, priced well below many competing tires. Overall I'm very happy with them and unless the rubber compound takes a dump halfway through the service life like the aforementioned BFGs, I'll gladly purchase another set.

These tires have been excellent. 25,000 miles on them and I probably have at least 10,000 miles left before they will need replaced. They have performed excellent in all wet/dry road conditions. I have not had the opportunity to test them in snow/ice. For the price, these are by far the best tires I have use on my 2020 Tesla Model X. I believe they are just as good, if not better, than any Michelin tire I have used. Would definitely recommend.

Great Tires!...........Very pleased with the tires. I like the speed, load, & snow ratings. They are excellent in the snow & slush of New York winters & very capable off-road. I pull a light My-Pod trailer & the tires have been excellent pulling a trailer.........The tires fit well and look good on my Jeep Patriot.

I bought these tires (mounted on LP Aventure LP1 wheels) within days of taking elivery of this new car. I wanted a tire and wheel combination that gave my Outback a more rugged look, while providing great winter traction, good ride and limited road noise. These tires are delivering on that and more. I replaced the factory Yokohama Avid GTs and don't notice any appreciable difference in ride quality, road noise or fuel economy. I'm actually surprised by that, as I figured I would have to compromise some (or all) of those characteristics. Nice surprise.

The Falkens are really good in the snow, especially in blizzard-like conditions on the expressway. Tire wear has also been really good...all tires measure between 9/32 to 10/32 after 12,000 miles of driving. I feel my 5,000 tire rotations are part of the reason for this excellent wear.

I would buy these tires again, in a heartbeat!

This has been the best set of tires I have driven with for snow conditions. Travel 65 miles a day to and from work. Heavy snow I was passing 4x4 that were sliding all over.

These tires handle much better than the OEM Falken Ziex ZE001 A/S and truly wish they came from the factory. If I can remember to do so I will come back and update these tires over their life. After 1,000 miles on these tires I have experienced light snow and heavy rain. Acceleration was great with the light snow on the ground and handled slush nicely. It dispersed standing water nicely and never felt like I was hydroplaning. Dry traction is excellent with predictable outputs from my inputs on the steering wheel. I did notice on the highway that my steering inputs are a little more touchy compared to the OEM tires. I think this has to do with the tread width being wider and the possibility of tramlining. Fuel mileage was cut by about 2 MPG, but that was expected with the minimal weight difference and an increase in rolling resistance with greater contact patch. Only downfall I have found so far is around 35-45 MPH I hear a whirring/buzzing sound from the tread blocks. I will take that as the only downfall and really look forward to how these handle the snow this winter!

I purchased these tires two years ago and have driven 100k miles on them and still are working strong. I drive a lot in the city and highway. I’m am a Lyft driver and these tires have hold up very well. I also have taking them off reading in Colorado and they were awesome driving up red mountain. I also have driven in deep snow with them and did great too. I would recommend them if your looking for some good off road tire for a Subaru.

I have had these tires for a couple of weeks now, but I could immediately feel the difference as soon as I took my first drive. These tires are replacing the stock non-all terrain tires that the vehicle came with. I don’t do much offloading, but I want a more aggressive, looking tire, as well as a tire that could get me through just about Anything mother nature threw at me. Well, these are those tires, hands-down! I can’t speak specific to any other vehicle, but anyone owning a jeep renegade needs to switch to these tires Immediately. These tires feel like they were specifically made for the Jeep renegade. As long as I own this car, I will never be without these tires. It’s like a night and day difference in handling, vehicle grip on the road, and just the overall feel of the Tire. Heck, the tires even take bumps better!

I was concerned these tires would be noisy and maybe not have the best ride comfort.

Nothing could be further from the truth. They are quiet and comfortable.

Only A/T tire I could find that had all the same stats as OE tires load rating 111 and V speed rated. Luckily they are awesome. Excellent ride quality with handling as good or better than the OE tire it replaced. It's not a mud tire or dedicated winter tire but I didn't want the harsh ride or tire wear of those. What I can say with minimal amount of miles is that I'm pretty impressed so far. No more noise that OE tires and much much improved off road / trail capabilities. No slippage when running fire roads or around the lakes and streams and good traction going up some pretty steep hills n the cascade mountains. I'm sold.

Absolutely no regrets! I was looking to upgrade my Crosstrek to a more aggressive looking tire while keeping my stock wheels. I also did not want to sacrifice fuel economy and road noise with an all terrain tire. The road noise is less than with my previous set of Geolanders. The Wildpeaks greatly improved the ride of the car. Only noticed a slight drop in MPG.

I bought these tires a year ago for my Forester and love them. The main con is I probably dropped 1-2 mpg after putting these on; not surprising as I do a lot of stop-start city driving. I do take them on dirt roads in NH and they have performed with good traction on those roads. They are fine on main roads - probably a little 'sticky' when getting going for the first few hundred miles. This plus the weight over the OEM tires probably contributes to the MPG loss.

They are rock solid on snow and about as well as any tire I have driven on ice. The treadwear is great - they are also very COOL looking tires and when I got my car inspected the tech noticed them, and was surprised I had already had them a year.

Overall, best tires I have had. I previously had Falken Ziex on my impreza and liked them so Falken as a brand impresses me. But these wildpeaks have achieved every expectation I had.

Great tires, have them on my Tacoma and now the wife’s cx-5. On my truck they have over 35,000 miles and still look nearly new.

These tires are great and I would definitely buy them again. I put these on my wife's car, but when we go somewhere in her car, I am the one in the driver seat. We mostly drive around town with about 50/50 city/highway driving, but we have taken these on light trails in MOAB and they did not dissapoint. Things I cannot comment on include: snow/ice driving, more intense off-roading, wet conditions (cannot comment much, because we live in the desert).

Compared to the OEM Yokohama Geolander G91 tires that came on the car, these tires knock it out of the park. If I only drive on pavement, I would still pick these over the OEM tires. Reasons being comfort over bumps and rough road, noise level, feel, life-expectancy, price, and capability. These tires are very comfy on rough roads, and on newly paved roads, they are silent. They provide better feedback to the driver as well, despite being more off-road oriented. The life expectancy is higher too, considering we have put 10k miles on these tires and they still look brand new. They are cheaper than the OEMs, and lastly, they have thicker sidewalls than the OEMs in addition to the more aggressive tread pattern, so you wont need to worry if you want/need to take these on dirt, mud, whatever isn't pavement. Thanks to the thicker sidewall, these will avoid punctures better than other non-offroady tires as well! The only negative, and it is a small one, is fuel economy. I noticed a 1-3 mpg defecit compared to the OEMs, but I am am still managing to get 400 miles on 3/4 of a tank of gas in my Crosstrek when we take it on trips. These tires are extremely capable, and I recommend them for anyone anticipating light offroading or peace-of-mind over other options for the above-stated reasons. I think they are the best "I want to offroad sometimes but I mostly drive on pavement" tires. I am personally a michelin guy, but I will be purchasing these tires for my wife again since she is VERY VERY happy with them. She loves them.
