Firestone Reviews

Ratings highlight excellence across key categories for this highway all-season tire. Treadwear scores (9-10) show long-lasting durability, with many customers noting impressive mileage. Comfort receives consistent praise for a smooth, quiet ride (8-10). Winter traction earns positive marks (7-10) for reliable light snow performance, though some report mixed results in severe ice. Wet traction shines with 9-10 ratings for grip and hydroplaning resistance. Dry traction (9-10) delivers confident handling and stability, aligning perfectly with its highway focus. While a few lower winter scores suggest limitations in extreme conditions, overall feedback confirms strong all-season capability for everyday driving.

...What a instant difference in handling, reduced road noise and wet traction... I actually had the chance to take the SUV for a test drive in a closed track because yes I am that critical about the safety of my family in this car with no compromise and was very impressed with the handling and grip in wet, dry, and simulated emergency maneuver drills...

I originally had the OEM Bridgestone Dueler tire on the car which is easily the worst I have ever had on all the vehicles I have owned in my 25 years of driving! BUYER BEWARE about the Duelers: The worst part is that the tires come with NO MILEAGE WARRANTY at all which is ridiculous and way for the Nissan to save a few bucks per tire. Ask the dealer to replace the tires when buying a new car to a set with a warranty. I am a highly experienced driver and hold a track racing license where ability to determine tire performance is critical to success and safety so I know what I am talking about. Some of the reviews here I have to quickly dismiss such as someone who was using winter tires year round and raving about the reduced road noise after changing (really..Duh!?) You really also have to consider the vehicle using the tire and skill of driver which will skew results. We have since replaced the tires after extensive research with the Firestone Destination LE2 tires and they are a HUGE upgrade from the worthless OEM tires. As a club racer I am always on the lookout for the most bang for the buck but felt no compromise with the LE2's. What a instant difference in handling, reduced road noise and wet traction. I always had lacked confidence going around highway speed curves as the vehicle seemed to drift away from you even at the speed limit resulting from diminished steering feel and had to play with the wheel to keep it balanced. After changing to the Firestone it was like we had just bought a luxury performance SUV. I actually had the chance to take the SUV for a test drive in a closed track because yes I am that critical about the safety of my family in this car with no compromise and was very impressed with the handling and grip in wet, dry, and simulated emergency maneuver drills. Best part is that the tire is very reasonably priced but don't let that fool you as this is a high quality replacement. Would have spent more on another tire but honestly no need.

...very good handling and braking in dry and wet...

Comparing these to my OEM Dunlap Grandtreks, and Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country's- very quiet, comfortable ride, very good handling and braking in dry and wet, good in light snow, above average in deep snow and on ice (but there aren't many hills around here so they might rate just average in deep snow and ice). Rolling resistance must be high, as highway MPG is about 1 to 1.2 MPG less than I got on the Dunlaps and Uniroyals (I do the same 600 mile trip every other month), but difference in ride, noise and handling makes up for it. At current wear level I should get about 55K out of them, which is good for me in this vehicle. Pricing on these make them a good choice.

Just went through one of the worst winter storms in Minnesota/Wisconsin. Had to drive to the airport in Minnesota. These tires handled the ice on the freeway very well. The Off ramps were not plowed on the way home. The first off ramp to not be plowed was getting off of I-694 to HWY 36 snow was at least a foot deep. Yes I put my trusty Dodge Durango in 4H and and let er rip, I had my doubts about this tire and no longer do handled that off ramp like a champ. Then came the fun part.... I live in rural Wisconsin and when I got close to home ...no roads had been plowed, again had to put the old Durango in 4H and plow through about a mile and a half of snow drift that were about four feet high, it was a scary ride but these Firestone's did not have a problem with the high drifts and got me home bottom line. I was thinking of getting a pure A/T tire but now know these LE 2 tires out performed what I thought they could do. Nice tire !! If they keep it the same I will be buying these tires again when the time comes no need to research again.

...If there is one area where it has a little less fortitude, it might be in snow. Surprisingly easy to do donuts in the parking lot. But on roads, driving sensibly in snow (nice n easy, not too fast), this tire never left me feeling uneasy...

After 22,000 miles, including a cross country and back camping trip loaded down with gear, these tires have really impressed me. They do what an all-season tire should do--perform in all seasons well. I've owned a lot of tires for lots of different types of cars, including tuned BMW's and family wagons, and never have I felt really satisfied with an all-season tire--at least not one that lasted well. Dirt roads, gravel roads, snowy roads, wet n'leafy and puddled roads, mountain highways and logging roads, and crappy frost-heaved New England roads with pot holes the size of smartcars. These tires have done it all with confidence. If there is one area where it has a little less fortitude, it might be snow. Surprisingly easy to do donuts in the parking lot. But on roads, driving sensibly in snow (nice n easy, not too fast), this tire never left me feeling uneasy.

At 22K, this tire feels like it's got a lot of life left in it. I'm not really feeling like it's lost much tread or handling--if any. So far it's lived up to it's promise.

...They are great on dry roads, I have had to make a few emergency stops and have felt quite confident in their performance...

I replaced a set of Firestone Destination LE (not II) that had lasted about 35,000 mi. In comparison, these tires were orders of magnitude quieter. They are great on dry roads, I have had to make a few emergency stops and have felt quite confident in their performance. Quick starts on wet roadways result in absolutely no wheel slippage (partially attributed to my car's AWD, but the old tires were slipping in wet). Snow (from 1-2" up to about 10") performance has been absolutely outstanding - this is if my first experience driving an SUV in the snow, but I could not be more pleased by the winter performance of these tires on flat roadways, hills, deep piles of snow in parking lots. Nothing seems to perturb them.

Cornering, steering, and general ride comfort are good. I do prefer them inflated a bit above the recommended 30psi, up to about 35. Other than that, they are wearing well after two rotations. There is barely any perceivable tire wear, and my car is known to eat tires unevenly.

Overall, highly recommended and would purchase again. These would likely be the only tires I'd purchase outside of Michelins (which I've had before on non-SUV applications).

...Super for an all season tire. I am confident that I can trust the car's tracking and responsiveness with the LE2.

These tires are awesome! I'm driving a 97 4Runner. It had Yokohama Geolanders. Bought the truck used with the Yoko's. I liked those tires and was going to replace with the same until I read the reviews on the LE2.

The roads have been awful between Chicago and SW Michigan. Snow, ice, slush, smooth and everything in between. I noticed my old tires were struggling in the elements (anti lock brakes activating and tires spinning).

Tire Rack installed the LE2 for $564 out the door. Night and day difference in performance. The LE2 tires accelerated and stopped my vehicle beyond my expectations in just about every type of pavement.

Noise: The truck rides like a car. Tires are S-m-o-o-t-h and quiet. (My old tires shook and rattled my vehicle. I thought that's just how it is with an SUV. I rarely would even speed because the ride would get too rough). I can't believe how much quieter and softer my ride is now.

Traction: Super for an all season tire. I am confident that I can trust the cars tracking and responsiveness with the LE2.

...The tires were nice on the highway, good traction on dry roads and in snow...

I really enjoyed these tires for about the first 5,000-10,000 miles. The tires were nice on the highway, good traction on dry roads and in snow. After about 10,000 miles tires began to wear very, very, very fast. They have gotten super loud on the road, terrible traction overall and wearing very unevenly. I have been very easy on the tires and disappointed with the results. I used to have BF Goodrich Long Trails and I got about 60,000 on them before they were down to nothing and they were still quieter and just overall better than these. Most of the tread is already gone with only 25,000 miles on them and most all are highway. Will never buy these again!

...This tires handle predictively and are very quiet. They soak up bumps all day long without complaint. But they don't seem to be overly squishy...

Got these as a replacement for my OE Michelin Latitudes. I debated going with an HP All-Season tire, instead, because I really enjoy the 2.3l ecoboost on my MKC. It's got pretty instant torque. At any rate, I was surprised to encounter wheelspin in dry conditions the first time I aggressively pulled out into an intersection with these tires installed. That's something I never had with the Michelins. It was...a little embarassing. That would be my only ding, though. This tires handle predictively and are very quiet. They soak up bumps all day long without complaint. But they don't seem to be overly squishy. Haven't had them long enough to assess wear. But I have the same tires on the wife's 2015 GMC Yukon XL and really doubt she's going to get anywhere near the rated treadlife. They seem to be wearing pretty quickly. But she drives it pretty aggressively. I think I could squeeze a tad more life out of them.

...As soon as they were installed, I felt the improved handling and grip to the road... I haven't noticed any appreciable noise level from the tires, but I'm not completely anal about this sort of thing - and I enjoy rocking out while driving...

I purchased these tires for my '09 Venza on Black Friday this year. This is my 3rd set of tires on this car and I've never been thrilled with tires till now. I drove about 3K miles before the first snow. Now that it as snowed, I can say they are fantastic! As soon as they were installed, I felt the improved handling and grip to the road. I feel like I have a 4WD now. I've had about 3K of driving in all types of weather - and they excel at every point. I haven't noticed any appreciable noise level from the tires, but I'm not completely anal about this sort of thing - and I enjoy rocking out while driving. Of course, tread wear is too far off to see, and I guess I will be at about 200K miles on the car and ready for a new one when these tires are done - but I'm planning on keeping this car while the tires are on. These may be the best set of tires I've ever purchased. Please keep making these, Firestone because I plan on buying them again!

We (my wife and I) logged 63,000 miles in 5 years on this tire on her SUV and these tires were absolute studs. I was always amazed every time I serviced the car on how well the tires were wearing. They felt smooth on the road and performed exceptional in the rain. My wife hit two nails throughout our time with these tires and both times, the tire didn't lose air and didn't puncture the tire completely. The nail actually bent in the tire before it could puncture. When I took the tires off to replace them with new tires, I was almost kicking myself for doing so because they still had about another 5 - 7k miles on them. The only reason I was so apt to change them was because I like to have that peace of mind that my wife is riding on the best tires. And to ensure that I had that peace of mind, I was replacing her old Destination LE2's with brand new ones. I hope they never stop making this tire.

Overall, this is probably the best tire I've ever had. 20,000 miles on them, and there's barely any sign of wear. They still look new! Wet traction is confidence-inspiring. Only problem I've run into is that they pack with mud quickly, and don't do so well in mud, grass, or really anything off-road.
