The WeatherGrip is Firestone's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, family sedans, station wagons and crossovers looking to combine daily comfort, wet grip and satisfying tire life with enhanced light snow traction. WeatherGrip tires were designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance. It is Intended as a one-tire solution for drivers in environments that experience all four seasons, but don't receive sufficient snowfall or icy conditions to require a dedicated winter tire.

The all-season tread compound of the WeatherGrip is molded into a traction-focused, directional pattern. Firestone's Hydro-Grip Technology Package utilizes a rounded footprint that pierces through standing water, plus full-depth grooves and open shoulder slots to help resist hydroplaning. Chamfered shoulder blocks provide additional contact with the road for enhanced braking in all conditions. Snow Traction Claw technology on the center and shoulder ribs plus snow vices on the intermediate ribs help provide confident traction in light snow, while the high-density zigzag sipes and interlocking grooves of the TractionTech Package create more edges for enhanced performance in slippery conditions throughout the tire's life.

Internal construction of the WeatherGrip consists of a single-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A nylon reinforcement aids in handling performance and provides high-speed durability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Wet traction is ridiculously good and only in the deepest standing water +1/2" is there any chance of hydroplaning...

These are FANTASTIC tires. I have never had issues in slick weather with having nearly any unexpected slipping. Very predictable with speed and torque in deep snow or snow packed roads. If I had anything discretionary to say about these tires is that they are a bit "hummy" on dry pavement at low speeds. Oh one other issue is asking to have them rotated in the spring and the garage thinks they are winter tires and we will be removing them soon so they ignore the service order. :) High speed handling is reasonably tight (obviously not a Firehawk or Eagle GT), but I have taken them aggressively through a number of tight ramps with no unexpected loss of traction. Wet traction is ridiculously good and only in the deepest standing water +1/2" is there any chance of hydroplaning. I have 40K on these tires and they are still a couple of mills above the treadwear indicators so I'll probably be buying another set in the fall / early winter. Guarantee for tread life is for 65K so I'd say that is pretty accurate.

I haven't been able to test these tires in snow, but they appear to be a very good set of tires for that. Wet traction is good, and I would recommend these tires to anyone thinking about wanting a somewhat aggressive tire for their car.

I drive Uber Premier (black car)... It's very hilly here and it's snowed a lot. These tires are amazing in snow ice slush... I'm in snow ice slush mostly highway but taking people home to back roads Country untreated roads long driveways. Theses are great. I have so much confidence in them.

I bought the Weathergrip in Jan 4,2021. I live north of Pittsburgh and drive full time 300-500 miles a day at the airport. I drive Uber Premier (black car)
I’ve driven 14,000 miles in a little less than 2 months. It’s very hilly here and it’s snowed a lot.
These tires are amazing. I usually use Blizak ws90 and switch out for the warm months but since I put these on in Jan 2 winter months past buy I thought I’d switch up ant try these. My last car got rear ended in Dec and I sold it after the insurance co fixed it. It had Ned Blizaks on it.
I’m in snow ice slush mostly highway but taking people home to back roads Country untreated roads long driveways. Theses are great. I have so much confidence in them. When it’s bad weather out other drivers stay home. I make great money with these. I’m so happy I found them.
They have a slight road noise. Very slight. I drive picky people who pay alot. No complaints ever. With 14,000 on them now very little wear so far. I rotate them every 4 thousand miles with my oil changes.
I have Goodyear Wether ready on my wife’s and both daughters cars since they don’t drive out when it’s real bad. But I wanted a good all weather tire for them. This has the exact same amount of noise as them.
Rain, light snow and up to 8 inches of snow up hills and down. These tires won’t let you down. Dry is very good too. No complaints.

...excellent snow traction saved my bacon, I even forced my way through 4" of packed snow in an unattended parking lot with AWD off...

I dont write reviews often but i have quite an adventure on my road trip to Toronto Canada and feel like leaving one for reference

1. This tire behaves normally at normal highway speed but the noise level rises dramatically once you reach 75mph+ on an interstate highway
2. Encounter a snowstorm in Buffalo, NY. excellent snow traction(for all-season) saved my bacon, I even forced my way through 4" of packed snow in an unattended parking lot with AWD off.

conclusion, if u want winter performance and don't live on the interstate highway, this is a good buy.

Car in snow could take off just as good as some awd vehicles to an extent. Getting stuck never happened. Tires are well worth the price

Just put these tires on this car, but based the decision on the same tires I put on another car (CR-V). I'm really liking what Firestone has done here with this model of tire. Not sure how the overall gas mileage will be affected, but these tires absolutely stay connected to the road, regardless of the condition.

...Tire noise has been very low in comparison to the previous tires, and traction in both wet and dry has been very good...

Our experience with this tire has been limited so far (we've only driven about 500 miles since installation). Tire noise has been very low in comparison to the previous tires, and traction in both wet and dry has been very good. We chose this tire based on a combination of customer good ratings and reasonable price. Previous tires (different brand) were disappointing, with the tread wearing down sooner than expected, and some cracking in the sidewalls after only a few years. Based on a previous experience with Firestone tires, we expect they will perform much better.

...I've heard others mentions some minimal road noise, but I don't hear it... Comfort was already great, and stayed that way...

WOW!!! We've owned all kinds of vehicles and tires over the years. From 1 ton 4wd crew cabs, to small AWD SUVs to compact FWD rice burners. Added this Camry to our fleet last summer because at 25K miles a year, my 1 ton diesel was driving me broke. Tires were getting pretty bad at the time so I replaced them late in the fall with the weather grips. I've heard others mentions some minimal road noise, but I don't hear it. Then again, I'm used to a 7.3l diesel. Traction and handling are great! Comfort was already great, and stayed that way. We finally got some snow and ice, and I was amazed at the traction. I pushed the limits of the tires in every parking lot I could find, every time we got any snow or sleet. From slush up to 8" of snow, they are amazing. Between the front wheel drive, traction control, and the tires themselves, it was nearly impossible to get the car to slide. Breaking was even more impressive. Even on slick, hard packed snow, I could brake as if I were on dry asphalt and rarely engage the ABS. On pure, slick ice, traction was so-so. Without studs or chains, I've never found a tire that had any noticeable traction on slick ice. All in all, this is the most sure footed vehicle/tire combination I've driven in the past 25 years. If these tires make it anywhere near their 65K mile warrantee, they will be my go-to tire for our passenger vehicles from now on.

...The tires are responsive and wearing well...

Even though my size is getting harder to find, I am happy with these tires. They are on the back of a lincoln towncar so take that into account. I drive my car with 475,000 miles on it everyday, so know how is responds. Although I drive it like a limo, smooth starts and stops, the in between time is spirited. 70-80 mph most of the time on highway, but have fun on traffic circles. The tires are responsive and wearing well. I would buy again.

Great tire compared to the specified Bridgestone tire. They do not hydroplane and handle much more securely. They feel like they have good traction. Wear seems the same as the previous tires and there is plenty of tread left, more than an 1/8th of an inch more than on the raised wear indicator (maybe 3/8th total) so I expect to get at least the advertised life out of them. ...Since that trip - its been about 3 weeks on the new tires, ive driven 1200 miles and consistently averaging 1.5-2mpg more then the Sumitotos that were on my Outback that the Firestones replaced...

Bought this tire after having a set of Goodyear Assurance Weather Ready on my Toyota. I researched tires to the near death Of me and stumbled upon the Firestone Weather Grip. Never being a Firestone fan - I was hesitant but started researching then none the less. The more I researched the WeatherGrip the more I liked them. Having Goodyear on my 7.3 F350 and on my previous Toyota I felt there was a high bar set for what these Firestones had to reach.

I chose to take a "chance" and buy the Firestones. I was delighted right away I saved almost $100 over the Goodyears. So that was a plus! Right away - we had a 300 mile trip (all highway) - I swear my Outback averaged 2mpg MORE then normal!!! Understand - I travel a lot - 12,000 miles in 45 days kind of travel. I know what mileage my car gets so when one single change returns noticeable more mileage - its pretty easy to credit to that single change. The Firestones weigh less so less weight less energy the engine and drivetrain must use to get and keep the vehicle moving.

Since that trip - its been about 3 weeks on the new tires, ive driven 1200 miles and consistently averaging 1.5-2mpg more then the Sumitotos that were on my Outback that the Firestones replaced.

Living in the Mid Atlantic area - this summer we have had unprecedented rainfall - while the Subaru is constant all wheel drove - often during heavy rain the previous tires would break grip and the traction control would enable. Not with the Firestones!!! Traction is solid grip like the car is on rails!!! I cant wait till the winter to see how it performs in the snow!!

Some have mentioned a lot of road noise. Well - I have a F350 7.3 4wd with Goodyear mudders. I know what tire whine is. The Firestones dont have tire whine. They are maybe a little "louder" but nothing bad.

Do yourself a favor - save the cash and get the Firestone WeatherGrip!!!
