The AlitMAX 365 AW is General's Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of family sedans, coupes, crossovers and SUVs who want the versatile performance provided by an all-weather tire in a variety of weather conditions, including light snow traction that meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The AltiMAX 365 AW features a high-silica, all-season tread compound molded into a symmetric pattern designed to blend dry and wet traction with enhanced wintry weather grip. The center rib's lower sipe density allows for increased steering feel and promotes even wear, with the added benefit of helping maintain noise comfort throughout the tire's life. The AltiMAX 365 AW utilizes a Sinusoidal Siping System for increased inclement weather traction while helping maintain dry road handling. Large lateral channels feed wide, circumferential grooves for efficient hydroplaning resistance, helping enhance wet weather stability. Additional Traction Teeth are also molded into the Waved Groove design which, in conjunction, helps increase biting edges in snow and slush for improved grip in difficult winter conditions.
Internal construction of the AltiMAX 365 AW consists of a single ply casing for a smooth, comfortable ride. Twin steel belts are incorporated to maximize strength and durability along with a polyamide reinforcement for stability at higher speeds.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Traction in rain has been solid and driving in SW PA snow has been confident so far...
So far so good. Completely quiet and comfortable, like wearing a new pair of shoes. Traction in rain has been solid and driving in SW PA snow has been confident so far. I''ve always loved General Tires and these are no different. The only downside is they don''t have the built in rim protection and with the excessive siping, they hold onto EVERY little rock and pebble. Long term I hope that doesn''''t cause any issues, which after asking Tire Rack experts they advised it wouldn''''t be an issue. Otherwise, highly recommend.

I have driven through light, heavy snow and ice with no problems. The tires have gripped the road well even on hard packed snow...
I bought and installed these tires in early December just before snow season in upstate NY, and I'm glad I did. I have driven through light, heavy snow and ice with no problems. The tires have gripped the road well even on hard packed snow. If they can handle Upstate Winters I think they will be fine when the weather warms up. (June?) Would recommend them to others.

I had this installed on my 2018 Acura RDX AWD (with 75,000 miles). Excellent tire! the recent January 2026 snow storm tested this tire well. We have lots of Michigan muddy and snowy dirt roads and highway miles on our AWD Subaru and these tires have held up well. We've felt safe at 75 MPH on I75 in the rain and 25 MPH on back roads with 6"+ of snow...
We replaced the OEM tires at 79k miles and these Generals were available during the COVID days of supply disruption. I'm glad they were. We have lots of Michigan muddy and snowy dirt roads and highway miles on our AWD Subaru and these tires have held up well. We've felt safe at 75 MPH on I75 in the rain and 25 MPH on back roads with 6"+ of snow. It's time to replace them at 170k miles on the vehicle and I'm seeing these as a much cheaper option than so many others. I think I would be crazy not to buy them again.

...Comfort is definite step up from the original Toyo Celsius tires...
sTraction control has never come on even on icy roads. Comfort is definite step up from the original Toyo Celsius tires. Avoid Michelin tires- there are plagued with the dry rot problems. I will buy General Tires again, they have Continental expertise built into the tires.

I can't believe the tread still on these tires at almost 80k trouble free miles. We live on Michigan dirt roads so these things have seen 5 years of mud, snow, salt, and potholes. No blowouts, no broken belts, or problems that have taken them out of service.
I can't believe the tread still on these tires at almost 80k trouble free miles. We live on Michigan dirt roads so these things have seen 5 years of mud, snow, salt, and potholes. No blowouts, no broken belts, or problems that have taken them out of service. This is a light AWD Subaru with a little 2.0 motor so maybe it's helped that we're not able to literally burn rubber, but seriously, I've had to check my receipts to actually believe we've made it to 80k and still have pretty good tread.
We've never been stuck in the snow, we've always felt safe in this car during the winter on all sorts of ice and snow.
I actually intended to get a different brand, but they were out of stock in 2021. These Generals were recommended as a newer option for multi-season tires and the bonus was that their weight was similar to the OEM tire. We've found zero impact to our MPG.
