The Eagle LS-2 RunOnFlat is Goodyear's Grand Touring All-Season self-supporting run-flat tire developed for European sedans and crossover vehicles. Featuring Goodyear's self-supporting RunOnFlat technology, these tires provide temporary mobility even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. Eagle LS-2 RunOnFlat tires are also designed to deliver all-season traction, even in light snow.
Eagle LS-2 RunOnFlat tires have a symmetric, independent tread block design featuring computer-optimized block sizes to minimize tread noise for a quiet ride. Wide circumferential channels help evacuate water from beneath the contact patch to enhance wet traction while sipes provide hundreds of biting edges for traction in light snow. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by nylon (varies depending on size and speed requirements) for strength and high-speed durability. The tire's reinforced sidewalls are capable of temporarily supporting the weight of the vehicle even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure.
NOTE: RunOnFlat tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.
Though they cannot be labeled as run-flat tires, tires branded with MOExtended or MOE on their sidewalls offer run-flat-like characteristics by delivering limited temporary extended mobility after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. Because MOExtended or MOE tires do not have the same speed and distance endurance of conventional run-flat tires, they should not be substituted in any situation where a conventional run-flat tire is required.

Feedback patterns show the Goodyear Eagle LS-2 RunOnFlat delivers strong dry traction (scores 8-10) with responsive handling, and reliable wet grip (7-9 ratings) that resists hydroplaning effectively. However, customers report concerns with ride comfort and noise levels, noting a firmer ride than expected in this category. Treadwear receives mixed feedback, with some noting rapid wear despite higher-mileage claims. Winter traction proves inconsistent, with scores dipping to 0-4 in icy conditions-a notable gap for an all-season tire. While dry and wet performance align with Grand Touring expectations, comfort and winter capabilities may give pause for drivers prioritizing plush rides or frequent cold-weather use.

...I've been very pleased with wet handling (particularly heavy rain at highway speeds), decent corning and most pleased with tread life...
I have a 2011 BMW 535i with Goodyear Eagle LS-2 245/45/18 Run Flats. After 36k, it's time for new tires. I've been very pleased with wet handling (particularly heavy rain at highway speeds), decent corning and most pleased with tread life. Unusual for me to get 36k out of a set of tires with my driving style. I'm amazed at the negative reviews. I try to avoid pot holes but hit them all the time. Never had an issue with sidewall blisters/bubbles. This may be limited to super-low profile 19" tires? All run-flats in this size are quite expensive... I've been very pleased with mine.

we took delivery in Munich under euro delivery and drove 2,000 miles autobahn at over 110MPH as well as very tight turns in Tuscany at speed. Tires are great. No hydroplaning in downpour. they are quiet too. I've done 5,000 miles since and tires continue to be fantastic.

...Traction and responsiveness to the steering wheel when making aggressive maneuvers is solid...
This tire is not worth the retail price. I purposely tested a second set of these for quality purposes and its durability is very disappointing. Had the wheels checked at 15k miles and sidewall damage is near catastrophic considering 99.9% of the time I'm on the highway. Traction and responsiveness to the steering wheel when making aggressive maneuvers is solid. In wet conditions, take hard corners 5 below recommended speed limit around 10k miles. With all of that being said, do NOT buy these. You can get far better for slightly less and an even greater bang for your buck at this price. It is not worth it so don't waste your money. Take it from a person who spends 99% of his driving experience on the highway.

...I tend to drive my car very hard and these tires did OK... Dry/Wet performance seems to be unaffected for now...
Overall decent run flat tire. I tend to drive my car very hard and these tires did OK. I'm moving to non run-flat tires with seperate winter/summer sets. These tires have 7/32 front tread and 5/32 rear tread. They were never rotated, because according to BMW they don't have to be, but you should rotate them. They have greatly diminished in snow traction over the tire life. When I first bought them they had great snow traction, especially being on a lightweight rear wheel drive car. I had to switch to actual snow tires this year because I felt so unsafe. Dry/Wet performance seems to be unaffected for now. I would recommend if you have these tires already keep them until 6/32 in snow or 4/32 in summer and then switch to a different tire next time.

These were the OEM tires on my 2011 Mercedes Benz E-350 BlueTec. I found the handling to be very good. These tires handled well on wet roads even with 40,00 miles on them. I was pleasantly surprised how well they did in light snow. I found the ride to be somewhat stiff, but that is run flats. The tires were average for noise. I rate them outstanding on wear. I got almost 49,000 miles on them. When one tire gave out at end of life, this run flat performed as advertized and got me to the shop. I usually prefer Michelin tires, but I am purchasing these tires again.

Winter traction receives concerning scores between 0-5, with customers reporting slippery conditions, getting stuck, and unstable handling. Despite being an all-season tire, many found its snow and ice performance unacceptable.

...Poor traction, poor wear, terrible in snow... I live in MI so good traction in snow is important and I really don't want to mess with separate winter tires...
These came as the OEM tire on my BMW X3 which I purchased as a CPO. The tires were new when I bought the car and what BMW uses as OEM. These are just really awful tires. Poor ride quality and traction, poor wear, terrible in snow. It is really hard for me to understand why BMW uses such lousy tires for OEM. Do they even test these tires? I live in MI so good traction in snow is important and I really don't want to mess with separate winter tires. Fortunately I have found a great all-season tire in the VREDESTEIN QUATRAC PRO. I highly recommend those for all-season tires in winter climates.

...Drove home from the dealer in the snow and after reading a lot about the horrific reviews of these tires online, went and replaced them with Blizzaks the next day...
These tires are rubbish. I picked up a demo 535 M-Sport (x-Drive) that had 11,000 miles on it. Dealer had fitted new LS2's. Drove home from the dealer in the snow and after reading a lot about the horrific reviews of these tires online, went and replaced them with Blizzaks the next day. I dont think I did more than a 100 miles on them, but are a woeful tire and BMW should never have allowed them to be fitted.
I run 2 sets of tires and wheels for my 535. Blizzaks in the winter (bullet proof tire, absolutely flawless) and Michelin Pilot Super Sport in Summer.

Terrible, terrible tires. Noisy, very stiff, poor grip, they ruin the experience of driving a BMW. They tear easily with any pothole, and there are many in NY, develop bubbles and the thread wears rapidly. I have changed 3 tires within one year due to failure. As they wear they become noisy and unbalanced, the steering wheel vibrates. I had the same tires on my prior car, a 535i XDrive: 4 tire failures within two winters, one cracked rim. The tires are so stiff that any hole in the road is felt as if someone hammered the chassis. Time to change and get rid of this garbage. I am switching to Michelin, non run flat. The technology is not ready for prime time, and the LS2s are the worst among run flats. What is unconscionable is that BMW insists on fitting its cars with run flat tires and, worse, with LS2s. They should read reviews and realize that it's time to ditch them for tires that actually perform like they should on a BMW.

...The tires ride so loudly and harsh, its like they are made of iron...
This is a terrible tire! The tires ride so loudly and harsh, its like they are made of iron. I have had the misfortune of hitting a few potholes (no more or worse than in my previous BMWs) and the tires develop huge bubbles that compromise the safety of the vehicle, according to the dealership. So... I have replaced two tires at less than 5K miles. The dealership has informed me that BMW is looking into the problem as they are overwhelmed with complaints about this tire. I am really starting to question the benefits of Run Flat tires, what is the point if they bubble and need to be replaced every few thousand miles and ride so terribly?

Worst tire i ever had. Period. They came stock on my vehicle. There were no good traits about these tires.. Harsh terrible ride, little traction. And wore out faster than any tire i have ever owned and they were not pushed or abused. I had rotations done once or twice a year as well. Will definately be switching to non-runflats as well.

...I've had even wear throughout their life, but I meticulously check the pressure and add/subtract air frequently depending on the temperature swings outside... I'm happy with getting 40k miles out of these. I don't remember the last time I got a solid 40k miles (with a few 1k left on them) out of any set of tires on any other vehicle i've had.
Overall I haven't had too many complaints about this OEM tire. I've driven them in scorching heat in Houston, TX and snow and ice at -30 degrees in North Dakota, and everything in between. My biggest issue with them is that my anti-lock brakes seem to kick in when they really shouldn't during moderately hard braking on dry conditions. Braking in icy conditions is definitely an issue, especially when slowing down to turn a corner. The vehicle will want to keep going straight and I would overshoot the turn at first (this is at pretty slow speeds, mind you and I'm from ND). Now, driving in a straight line on icy/snowy roads is fine. No issues with traction or stability (although I think a lot of that has to do with BMW's awesome tech in this vehicle). I seem to have plenty of traction even when I see a lot of other cars in the ditch along the highway. I've only had to take the vehicle to a tire place twice to remove a screw from the bottom tread and patch it up, no issues. I've had even wear throughout their life, but I meticulously check the pressure and add/subtract air frequently depending on the temperature swings outside. I never rotated them even once (BMW says not to, but there's arguments supporting periodic rotation). I would like a more comfortable ride and better snow/ice traction in my next set of tires, so I won't be getting these again. However, I'm happy with getting 40k miles out of these. I don't remember the last time I got a solid 40k miles (with a few 1k left on them) out of any set of tires on any other vehicle i've had.

I have drove greater than 51, 000 miles on the original set of run on flat tires. Driving in the Chicago weather, especially the snow storm of 2011, I got outstanding performance from my car due to the terrific tires. I have had an excellent experience with the original set of tires and hope to have the same experience with the next set.
