The Wrangler Duratrac RT is Goodyear's Rugged All-Terrain tire, built for the drivers of pickups, work vehicles, SUVs and trucks requiring a tire with the rugged durability needed to get the job done, all day, every day. Engineered to easily traverse the urban jungle, dirt, gravel, and unimproved jobsites, the Wrangler Duratrac RT combines on-road transportation with off-road prowess and traction year-round, including light snow performance meeting the tire industry's severe snow service rating requirements for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The Wrangler Duratrac RT features a next-generation tread design comprised of a rugged compound formulated for durability, built to resist deformation, chunking or tearing during off-road or heavy duty applications. Its wide-grooved symmetric tread pattern combines large shoulders and highly angled center tread blocks to enhance stability and traction in dry and wet conditions. An optimized pressure footprint encourages predictable highway driving and even wear for longer service life. The alternating lug patterns in the shoulder and sidewall provide additional grip on all surfaces, including rock, thick mud, or loose soil. Deep, circumferential grooves and wide, lateral notches improve hydroplaning resistance. The zigzag sipes interspersed through each tread block ensure the biting edges needed for traction in cold, slippery conditions are always ready.
The internal construction of the Wrangler Duratrac RT features three-ply polyester cord sidewalls encircled by twin steel belts for off-road durability and on-road drivability. All capped off with a 2-ply polyamide casing reinforced by Kevlar™. The Durawall sidewall compound features a triple-ply design for added rigidity and protection against deformation, cuts and punctures.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Taking Off-Road Tires On-Road - 2024 Test 9 – With Winter Update (31:03)
Twelve selections from the On-Road, Off-Road, and Rugged All-Terrain categories comprise this All-Terrain tire test to see how they stack up when it comes to daily driving. A/T tires excel off the beaten path, but what about the rest of the time? The popular aesthetics of this category lead to many using them on their daily drivers. So, what are you sacrificing by choosing these products for your concrete journeys? Noise, comfort, handling, safety, and winter performance are all considered when we test all-terrain off-road tires on the road!
Drivers find the Goodyear Eagle LS-2 delivers a smooth, quiet ride with high marks for comfort, though many report rapid tread wear and disappointing tread life. Winter traction receives mixed feedback, with some drivers noting struggles on ice and in deeper snow. Wet performance shows inconsistency, with hydroplaning concerns in heavy rain. Dry traction stands out as a strength, offering responsive handling and confident cornering. While the tire excels in comfort and dry-road performance, its shorter tread life and variable all-weather capabilities may require consideration for drivers prioritizing year-round durability.

These things stick like Fly S_ _ t to paper.
These tires came with my new 2008 Outlander and after only 16000 miles they are down to the wear bars and need replacing. I rotated them at around 8,000 miles. They are noisy and do not do well in ice or snow.
I will never consider Goodyear for a tire.

These tires have excellent dry traction and good wet traction as well. I feel very confident under hard braking from high speeds with these on my truck. Great grip with these, I drive my Suburban like a race car and these handle the abuse and ask for more. I usually hate Goodyear tires but these came factory and are excellent tires. I will replace with same tire when the time comes. These tires are not designed for off-road use nor are they designed for use in snow or ice though they do just fine on this vehicle in snow as long as auto 4wd is used. I don't expect any tire to work miracles in the snow for a beast this size and weight though. If you have problems in snow with these, slow down, you're driving to fast!

I was a bit surprised by the negative reviews. I've driven a few Audi A4's over the years with various performace/all season tires and the LS-2 has actually been the best. The tire has held up pretty well, just thinking about replacing them now at the 46,000 mile mark. But, I've been mostly impressed with the balance of handling and comfort. I've had better handling tires but at the cost of comfort. And, vice versa. But, these tires have been a great combination of both. Oh well, maybe I just got lucky. Slapping another set on soon and hope to have same luck.....

Customers praise the Goodyear Eagle LS-2's comfort with many scoring 9s and 10s for smooth ride quality and low noise levels. High ratings highlight its excellent refinement in Grand Touring scenarios, meeting all-season expectations.

The tires are quiet and the ride is very smooth. A very good tire for the price. Not sure if I will purchase a new set. These tires were OEM fit when we purchased the vehicle.

...On the up side, contrary to some reports, I find it to be very quiet with good ride comfort, too...
Smooth and cushiony but not an appropriate tire for a high performance sedan. Cornering is mushy, soft and dull-not at all confidence inducing. On the up side, contrary to some reports, I find it to be very quiet with good ride comfort, too. Perhaps the noise level will pick up later as the miles pile up, as has been mentioned by some.

Mostly highway driving. Rotate every 8,000 miles. Tires ride and look like new. I have never had a tire that was like this. Ive always been 1/2 through my 2nd set. I would definitely recommend these and I will definitely buy again!

Wet traction shows mixed results with many scores between 0-6. Customers report sliding, hydroplaning concerns, and mediocre wet performance, disappointing for an all-season tire. Some note floating on wet roads despite occasional 9-10 ratings.

This tire is amazing, when it's dry out ... Handling corners, or quick, unexpected maneuvers makes this a tire a great option. However, expect no traction and increased hydroplaning risk when there's any other surface type then dry. These tires make you feel like you're all over the road in the rain, and forget about traveling in snow. Even with traction control activated, the tires could not handle even two inches of snow.

These tires are garbage, absolute GARBAGE!!! These came from the factory installed on my 2015 Buick Lacrosse , and I have already had the vehicle in a few times for a balance because the "road force" is so terrible on these tires. No traction what so ever, the car can spin its tires at 30mph when you floor it, it will spin for days if you floor it off the line, wet traction is terrible also! These tires are also quite hard, luckily the Buick rides well or these would have been thrown off and a set of Michelin or Pirellis would have been installed. Do not buy!!!

Winter traction ratings show concerning patterns with many scores between 0-4. Customers report slippery snow performance, lack of ice grip, and getting stuck frequently. While some give 7-10s, widespread dissatisfaction highlights unacceptable winter capability for an all-season tire.

...Snow and ice traction are abysmal, it's down right dangerous driving in winter conditions with these tires...
These are the O.E.M tires that came on my car, and I cant wait to replace them. Dry and wet traction are mediocre at best, it is very easy to spin the tires accelerating from a stop. Snow and ice traction are abysmal, it's down right dangerous driving in winter conditions with these tires. Tire noise after 20k miles are is unbearable. These are the worst set of tires I have ever owned period!

...Wet traction was poor from the beginning and I am not going to drive with them for another winter...
These tires came with my 2011 Malibu LTZ. They have worn out quickly and lost their ride quality and tracton in 20,000 miles of easy driving. GM should have provided a better tire for this level of automobile. Wet traction was poor from the beginning and I am not going to drive with them for another winter. They are poor at best.

Came on the Outlander - don't even think about using in snow or ice - not bad in rain and for an SUV adequate on the hwy. Just don't "press it" speed wise as understeer will be amplified by 5.

Astoundingly bad treadwear for an expensive tire. I am meticulous about my cars . These OEM tires were rotated and properly inflated at all times. At 26,000 miles they are shot. Gone. Into secondary rubber. Unsafe. I am in south Florida, so I cannot comment on snow/ice performance. Wet performance was average at best. I would NEVER consider buying these again. Therea re so many better alternatives.

This is probably the worst tire debacle I have seen since the Firestone 500. I have replaced 3 of these tires already due to radial tire pull and out of round conditions. I have at least two more on the car that are causing a tire pull condition and a wobble in the steering wheel at lower speeds. Also, they really can't be balanced and cause some vibration. They only thing they have over the Firestone 500 is they have not blown out, yet. Goodyear keeps replacing them (through my GM dealer) but the new ones are no better than the ones they replace. My next step is to buy a different brand.

...They are cheapo tires that will last at least 20,000 miles (I drove mostly Highway and it is about 100+ miles from home to work in the earlier years of driving on the tire). My tread-wear is okay because I bought my car new from the manufacture. So it is not a used car...
Although the tires are rated for All season they lack the ability to do all seasons. They are cheapo tires that will last at least 20,000 miles (I drove mostly Highway and it is about 100+ miles from home to work in the earlier years of driving on the tire). My tread-wear is okay because I bought my car new from the manufacture. So it is not a used car . The alignment was great to where the tires tread is still in good condition except for the huge chunk of tire that broke off from light off road drive (very small gravel) to a lake for some fishing. They just been rotated at the 20,000 mile inspection of my car. Since the tire are still in good condition I may have 10,000 more mile left until I purchase new wheels that are lighter and a set tires that are lighter. In heavy snow there's no way in the world that you would feel confident that these would stop short enough on the highway. That means drive 60 miles an hour instead of 70 miles an hour.
I think what made my experience a bit different from the other reviewers is that I was okay with this tire and its saving grace is based only on the fact that I have AWD. The traction control does come on an awful lot and on windy days I can feel the tire loss traction. They are quiet on my car and the tread holds up okay. Traction on the other hand is average in the dry. This is not a light snow tire but it got me to work slowly on the highway (125 miles) during last years snow in Ohio. Would I recommend purchasing these on purpose. Nope, but if they come equipped on the car just drive on them until they wear out. Now if you live in the north get better all season tires or snow tires. I have noticed that the tire does not hold its PSI in humid hot conditions very well. They tend to loss air pressure a lot. Which could mean it is time for new tires even though it has tread not wore that much over the 20,000 + mileage. These tires are some poor tire in the performance arena. They are just adequate enough for OEM tires.
