The Wrangler Duratrac RT is Goodyear's Rugged All-Terrain tire, built for the drivers of pickups, work vehicles, SUVs and trucks requiring a tire with the rugged durability needed to get the job done, all day, every day. Engineered to easily traverse the urban jungle, dirt, gravel, and unimproved jobsites, the Wrangler Duratrac RT combines on-road transportation with off-road prowess and traction year-round, including light snow performance meeting the tire industry's severe snow service rating requirements for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The Wrangler Duratrac RT features a next-generation tread design comprised of a rugged compound formulated for durability, built to resist deformation, chunking or tearing during off-road or heavy duty applications. Its wide-grooved symmetric tread pattern combines large shoulders and highly angled center tread blocks to enhance stability and traction in dry and wet conditions. An optimized pressure footprint encourages predictable highway driving and even wear for longer service life. The alternating lug patterns in the shoulder and sidewall provide additional grip on all surfaces, including rock, thick mud, or loose soil. Deep, circumferential grooves and wide, lateral notches improve hydroplaning resistance. The zigzag sipes interspersed through each tread block ensure the biting edges needed for traction in cold, slippery conditions are always ready.
The internal construction of the Wrangler Duratrac RT features three-ply polyester cord sidewalls encircled by twin steel belts for off-road durability and on-road drivability. All capped off with a 2-ply polyamide casing reinforced by Kevlar™. The Durawall sidewall compound features a triple-ply design for added rigidity and protection against deformation, cuts and punctures.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Twelve selections from the On-Road, Off-Road, and Rugged All-Terrain categories comprise this All-Terrain tire test to see how they stack up when it comes to daily driving. A/T tires excel off the beaten path, but what about the rest of the time? The popular aesthetics of this category lead to many using them on their daily drivers. So, what are you sacrificing by choosing these products for your concrete journeys? Noise, comfort, handling, safety, and winter performance are all considered when we test all-terrain off-road tires on the road!
Customers praise the Goodyear Eagle RS-A for strong dry traction (7-10 scores) and confident handling, with many noting reliable performance in dry conditions. Wet traction receives mostly positive feedback (7-8 scores) for grip and hydroplaning resistance, though a few report reduced confidence in heavy rain. Ride comfort is generally rated well for smoothness, but some mention road noise as a drawback. Treadwear shows mixed results-while some highlight decent longevity, others note rapid wear or disappointing tread life. As a high-performance all-season tire, it delivers consistent dry and wet capabilities suited for drivers prioritizing responsive handling, though tread durability may vary.

I did over 70,000 miles of high speed driving between Orlando and Tampa on I4 one of the most deadliest highways in Florida. I have been down to Miami twice going speeds over 80+ in dry and wet conditions. This tire is outstanding for high speed lane changes and wet road driving. FHP uses this tires for high speed chances and I have cut across the medium on the highway more then once watching an SUV get stuck trying to follow my little Corolla. I'm amazed that with a 260 tread wear I got such high mileage from this tire and even tread wear. Two of the tires did show dry rout after 4 years so I replaced them with a new set but the tread would have lasted to 80,000.

...I'll quickly admit that they aren't great at carving corners in the wet, but I've also been able to drive at highway speed while the rain was pouring in sheets with very high confidence...
They're not ultra-high performance tires, don't fool yourself, but since these tires are 20mm wider than stock, the pressure being run is lower and they are just a joy. I'll quickly admit that they aren't great at carving corners in the wet, but I've also been able to drive at highway speed while the rain was pouring in sheets with very high confidence. For a car as light as a mini, this is plenty of grip for hard cornering, even on mostly stock suspension. For the price, these are probably about as good as you can ask for. I doubt they'll be the greatest tires in the snow, but neither is a fwd mini cooper. I'll drive my Volvo v60 Polestar with awd if I need to go out in the snow, and that's a perfectly acceptable compromise. For any car that is to be driven quickly but that isn't itself a sporty car, these are a great option that won't break the bank.

Not sure why all the negativity. I purchased these as a replacement for michelin primacy and I see very little difference. Dry traction is great, wet is good and snow is so so although I tested the tires in snow mode on 2 inches of snow and they did pretty good with very little wheel spin. Really good tires for the price so far.

...I was even tugging out bigger vehicles because I had traction they didn't have...
These are my second set of Goodyear eagle rsa's, and I'd say they are the best bang for the buck. I got just under 65k miles on my first set, and they helped my car get better mpg. I work construction so I'm in and out of job sites and driving through different terrains as well as long road trips, I've yet to be left stuck or afraid of not making it home because of a bad tire choice. My first set of tires were kumho and they would just not cut it, I even replaced them with a set of yokahomas and those were also a bad choice. These Goodyear eagle rsa are just a great tire. I was even tugging out bigger vehicles because I had traction they didn't have. I would definitely recommend these tires for anyone on a budget looking for a great tire.

...Dry traction has been excellent, and even in heavy rain it is hard to break them loose...
So far, so good. Today was the first snow I have driven in on these tires, and raging from slush to a light covering to about 2 inches deep, my drive in was business as usual. No problems taking off and very little ABS interference, although that was mainly due to me seeing how they do. I have no clue about deep snow, but I'm sure they won't be as good as a severe snow rated tire, obviously. Seeing other reviews, most of the bad seem to come from RWD cars which these tires probably aren't suited for. In a 3900 pound AWD SUV, however, they have been just fine. Dry traction has been excellent, and even in heavy rain it is hard to break them loose. Rotating every oil change, there has been zero cupping or feathering. Again, the tire should be matched to the application. Would I buy again? It all depends on the heavy snow, but not having much ground clearance in the first place, I wouldn't try driving in more than 5 inches or so, anyway.

...I'm extremely pleased with the tire and have not found a better value for my needs. I feel like for the average driver in an average family vehicle; this would be a really good choice...
This tire was OEM on our new 2009 Venza. Today the car has 268,000 miles and I'm shopping my third set of tires...all of them this very same model. I am averaging well over 80,000 miles per set of tires. My driving has been the Washington DC beltway and highways in Maryland and Northern VA. I'm extremely pleased with the tire and have not found a better value for my needs. I feel like for the average driver in an average family vehicle; this would be a really good choice. I am admittedly puzzled by some of the negative reviews since they seem so different from my experience. I suspect vehicle type (high performance or heavy vehicles), driving conditions (though honestly roads and conditions in and around DC are far from ideal) and driving style are influential variables. I'm looking forward to my third purchase of these tires.

...They have been an excellent tire... quiet, good handling, long life.
These tires were on my Corolla S when I bought it. The car had 9000 miles on it. I now have 61000 miles on the car and the tires have more life in them. I drive fairly conservatively and rotate the tires occasionally. They have been an excellent tire... quiet, good handling, long life.

I rotate my tires every oil change and cross rotate every other oil change and thats why I get close to 90K miles out of a set of these tires and have a perfect alignment.
I been buying these same tires for my 2000 Supercharged Z/24 Cavalier since 2003 after the original set wore out which these were factory tires to begin with. I cant complain. I rotate my tires every oil change and cross rotate every other oil change and thats why I get close to 90K miles out of a set of these tires and have a perfect alignment.

...They have 44,000 miles and by tread depth they will easily go to 60,000.
These tires came as oem on our Nissan Maxima. They are the best factory tires I have ever bought on a new car, and I will replace them with identical tires if they are available at that time. They have 44,000 miles and by tread depth they will easily go to 60,000.

Tires came with car new, started 24 miles on odometer. 75,000 miles on after 5 years have been great! I 've rotated and had my tech purge and nitro fill every oil change which is usually around 7-10,000 miles. Recommend this service if possible, helps tires run cooler and with less compensation in the tire! I never have to put air in tires because of loss of air pressure. Excellent tires for every day commuting.

...In snow, the car will lose all traction and kick the rear out and slide... Good tires to put on if it's warm and dry, definatley not an all season tire. Stay away from them at all costs with this size and car.. especially if you live in a snowy region.
I live in the New England snow belt (North east PA). Stock tires that came on my CPO maxima. Bought with 38k on it. First thing I've done with this car is change out the tires as soon as I could. I've had 8/32nds life on the rear and front. In wet Sumer, you hydroplane going any speed above 15mph on any wet surface. In snow, the car will lose all traction and kick the rear out and slide (thank --- and Nissan for ESC and TC). Good tires to put on if it's warm and dry, definatley not an "all season" tire. Stay away from them at all costs with this size and car.. especially if you live in a snowy region.

...So far this tires are very bad on wet traction... At 55 mph, it feels that it can't evacuate water fast enough that the tires hydroplane. I feel that my front tires are loosing grip...
This is a follow up review:
We just had a the strongest storm in SoCal on Feb 17, 2017. So far this tires are very bad on wet traction. (I am hating this set of tires: really bad on foul weather and it wear out faster). At 55 mph, it feels that it can't evacuate water fast enough that the tires hydroplane. I feel that my front tires are loosing grip. I never had that kind of problem with my VW Routan 2012 SE equipped with good Green X Michelin tires. I will steer away from this tires if you live in a place with high precipitation. It is not worth your life.
So far with the treadwear, it is bad too. At 15K miles, i lost 35% of tread and it is very conspicious that they put a really soft rubber compound on these tires. These tires are easily get slashed.

Good tire in dry conditions but giving this tire an "all season" designation is a joke. If it snows more than an inch or two get ready to spin your way to work. Treadwear is also atrocious. You'd be lucky to make 25k miles.
