The CrossClimate² is Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs looking for daily driving comfort combined with confident performance in dry, wet and light snow conditions. The CrossClimate² is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance and is intended to function as a one-tire solution for drivers that experience all four seasons but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.

Michelin CrossClimate2 Callouts

The CrossClimate² features Michelin's Thermal Adaptive all-season tread compound molded into a V-Formation directional tread design engineered to deliver dry, wet and wintertime performance. Michelin utilized their PIANO Noise Reduction Tuning which employs advanced tread pattern modeling that helps tune out airborne noise by augmenting tread element geometry and timing variation. Longitudinal dry grip is promoted by the center portion of the tread, with blocks that align with fore and aft forces, increasing uninterrupted block area contact when accelerating or decelerating. Braking traction is further enhanced by V Ramp chamfers molded into the leading and trailing edges of the blocks that increase contact with the road surface under load. Further outboard, the shoulder blocks begin to align laterally with the tread, helping increase cornering forces and control. 3D SipeLock technology integrated into the tread, supports block rigidity for confident handling while also increasing traction in inclement weather. The steep angles designed into the tread pattern help channel water away from the contact patch, increasing hydroplaning resistance without the need for circumferential grooves. This grooveless pattern evens out load forces to benefit wear characteristics, while creating more biting area for wintertime traction. Snow performance is further enhanced by the Thermal Adaptive Tread compound, ensuring the tire remains flexible at lower temperatures for increased snow traction sufficient to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Internal construction of the CrossClimate² consists of a two-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement is added to further enhance high speed stability and performance.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...They do not slide around on wet roads even under hard power.

Price was hard to beat. We have a set on some of our emergency vehicles and they are holding up really well with no weird noise or wear patterns. They do not slide around on wet roads even under hard power.

...The only caviot, was once when I was on the highway in heavy rain I went through a pool of standing water, and it did hydroplane. However I think any vehicle going that speed through that amount of water would hydroplaned regardless of the tires...

I initially bought the tires because I liked the look of them, and the reviews seemed mostly positive. They have exceeded my expectations.
First off they look even cooler than I had imagined on my 2011 Frontier pickup truck. I bought them on line, and Tire Rack shipped them to my local Discount Tire store, who did a phenomenal job installing the tires and aligning my truck. I love how solid they feel, and they are very quiet and responsive. I've driven them in all kinds of conditions, including rain, snow, ice, icy slush, dry pavement, gravel, and off road. They preformed perfectly in all conditions. The only caviot, was once when I was on the highway in heavy rain I went through a pool of standing water, and it did hydroplane. However I think any vehicle going that speed through that amount of water would hydroplaned regardless of the tires.
My final thoughts are, my Goodyear Wrangler Durotec tires are the nicest tires I've ever owned. I would definitely recommend them.

...If you need traction on work sites etc. and still want decent traction on wet pavement without a lot of noise these are the answer...

I venture into places most wouldnt go with a 2WD van, frequently use rural boat launches, pull my camper in and out of our property with only a dirt road (somtimes muddy during rain)
and these do a great job yet still have surprisingly good road manners, Have not had them in the snow yet but the last pair did that well and they lasted over 50000 miles (rear position only).
After the last pair wore out I replaced front and rear with quality all season radials and got stuck twice last year so these are back on the rear.If you need traction on work sites etc. and still
want decent traction on wet pavement without a lot of noise these are the answer.Im a mechanic and mounted these myself, they balanced well without using huge wheel weights and these
are E load range. My experience with 2 pairs has been good and would recommend.

Now that I have driven them through the winter/snow, this is my 2nd review on these tires. So far I really like them. They still ride great, not much road noise compared to the Original Equipment tires. They handled great in the deep snow traction. We tend to get some good snowfall in this area and they definitely came in handy. They had some good bite in the light snow and the deep snow. A little slippery on ice, but expected. I wish it had a little more traction in the wet. These seem to have some really good wear as well. Overall, these tires are great and I would buy them again. The more agressive tread pattern and shoulder blocks are another feature that I really appreciate too.

Bought these to replace the factory Goodyear Wrangler Territory MTs on my Silverado ZR2, which at 33,000 miles were so loud I couldn’t use the hands free phone. The new DuraTrac RT is a much better tire than the original DuraTrac and 1000 times better than the OEM Territory. I noticed an immediate relief in the noise and much better handling. In fact the day I got them there was snow and ice on the ground and they were excellent in both. Now, at 17K miles, they are as quiet as they were new, they show little sign of wear, and they have been through two summers and two winters of snow and ice. These are the best AT tires that I have used.

I have only had a very short while, 1st impressions are fantastic. I love the look , this size is 255/70 R18 XL which i wanted to keep with stock size but the XL load rating and 3 ply sidewall is great for offroad and still very comfortable on-road. All tires balance with no weights and I am hopeful they last the 50k warranty but either way as of now very happy. It's winter in WV and we get all kinds of weather and road conditions and I didn't want to run the stock tires. So ready for winter and any trail I would ever take my Bronco on. I know there is much more off road capable options but for my driving they will be perfect. If anyone is wondering the XL load rating is actually a 3 ply sidewall , winning! I did not purchase from Tirerack but I have used them for all of my previous purchases and would recommend them.

This is my 2nd set of these tires. I got 60,000 miles on the 1st set. They ride very comfortable with great traction. I don't mud ride but do ride on dirt roads after days of rain also muddy soft grass and clover. Great traction with no getting stuck where other people do.

Very good tire, good traction and comfortable to drive. They did start getting a little noisy after rolling 30k miles but not bad. At 44k miles they have started to shake a bit. Time to buy another set. I’ve tried many different brands on many different trucks and I think this has been my best setup. Just make sure you choice the right load rating and speed rating for what you do, makes a big difference on ride quality and your safety.
