The Wrangler DuraTrac is Goodyear's Commercial All-Terrain light truck tire developed for the drivers of multi-purpose full-sized pickups, vans, sport utility and commercial vehicles looking for tires that play hard and work harder. The Wrangler DuraTrac is designed to be a versatile tire offering off-road competence in dirt, gravel and mud with on-road composure in dry, wet and wintry conditions.

Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rugged tread compound that helps resist tread block chipping, chunking and tearing, especially during heavy loading and towing applications. Its symmetric tread design combines large shoulders and highly angled center tread blocks to enhance stability and traction in dry and wet conditions. Self-cleaning, stepped shoulder blocks, zigzag sipes and Goodyear's TractiveGroove Technology at the base of the circumferential grooves provide thousands of biting edges to enhance traction in deep mud and snow. Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rim lock that helps prevent wheel slip throughout the life of the tire and offers a built-in rim protector to help protect wheels from accidental damage on- and off-road.

Wrangler DuraTrac light truck tires (with the exception of the 255/55R19-size) are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol to identify they meet the industry's severe snow service standards. Specific sizes not meeting the industry's severe snow service requirements are identified with a "Not Rated For Severe Snow" notation on the Specs tab.

Select flotation LT and LT-metric-sized Wrangler DuraTrac tires are designed to accept optional #16 metal studs to enhance ice traction.

...Very pleased with the Wet traction/Hydroplaning, there was no snatch when hitting pools of standing water...

So far I have been very pleased with the Duratracs, they do have a low "hum",it's not bad,and after running mud tires for many years on other 4x4's,the noise aint bad at all, and the Wife is Happy, so thats a big plus. Very pleased with the Wet traction/Hydroplaning, there was no snatch when hitting pools of standing water. After getting the tires mounted/balanced (did take appox. 4oz. per tire, load range E)came back by way of the interstate, running 65-70,I didn't notice any bad road manners at all. We haven't had any winter weather so far this year, snow I'm not worried about , Ice we will see, I do load the bed with weight when ice/snow is expected.I haven't had to pull either of my GN trailers, since I got the tires,so I can't rate them by that.I do wonder how they will do on gravel /rock roads, with the big void in the tread(flats from punctures),guess we will see. Now don't take my Easy style of driving,as a "I don't know what I talking about", I drive a class 8 truck for a living(more miles under my belt then I care to remember) and have been an avid 4 wheeler for many years too. I don't know how long they will last, and I don't know how they will act after many miles, but My first thoughts,Give them a try, an they do look good too. Grin

I bought a set of these tires for winter driving and plowing snow. They are fantastic! Never spin or slip plowing moderate snow. Not used for super deep snow yet. I love these tires! Handle and drive as well as the Goodyear wranglers I have for summer time. I don't think these duratracs are any noisier than the wranglers either. I highly recommend these tires!! You wont be sorry you bought them.

We had two heavy snows this past spring, one had 16 inches and the second had 37 inches, and these tires handled both very well. I had no problem plowing through the snow and drifts to get where I wanted to as I really didn't need to go anywhere, was just playing. I would definitely recommend and buy this tire again.

...I quite honestly don't even need the 4x4 when most pickup trucks are slipping around like they're on a skating rink... They corner well on dry roads, stick to the ground when it's wet, and takes you where you point the steering wheel when it snows...

Driving in northern Maine, harsh winters with heavy snow is a reality. With the yearly average snowfall of over 4 feet, the Goodyear dura-tracs are awesome. There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to gearing up for a winter tire. Most people live with all season tires, I say good for them, but once you learn the difference between an all season tire and winter tire, you will never go back. 275/65 20's make for a very large "and agressive" look to the truck. I quite honestly don't even need the 4x4 when most pickup trucks are slipping around like they're on a skating rink. Road noise isn't all that bad and quite honestly, it's a fairly smooth ride. I did have them studded, so it makes them a bit slippery on dry pavement during a fast take off, but I wont blame the tire for it. They corner well on dry roads, stick to the ground when it's wet, and takes you where you point the steering wheel when it snows. When it comes to figuring out what tire you need for a very agressive bite, the Goodyear dura-tracs are the way to go. I'd be carefull though, it dosn't take long to dig a hole in the ground when you stomp on the gas. Have fun.

...The 31x10.5 tire doesn't seam to have much stability to it when cornering... Less pressure equals a less stable tire on dry pavement...

My driving is not "spirited". Its a bit more aggressive than that. These tires have held up much better than I had imagined. I do a fair amount of offroading and I have never been let down when it comes to my expectations of the tire. Snow traction is the best I have experienced. They also have never hydroplaned despite my best efforts. Great tire for a vehicle that sees both road and dirt. However they do have their drawbacks. The 31x10.5 tire doesn't seam to have much stability to it when cornering. The tire also had very little road noise when new but developed a noticeable humm at about 6000 miles. What aggressive tread doesn't make noise though? Some of this could be due to the fact its mounted on a small 7" jeep wheel. This creates a bowl shape when inflated at 42 psi (max 50 psi) that only allows the middle of the tire to contact the road. Thus the tire must be ran at 35-38 psi to allow proper tire wear. Less pressure equals a less stable tire on dry pavement. However, snow and ice performance is increased by lower pressure. I would imagine that a 8, 9, or 10 inch width rim would minimize the lack of stability and noise. Tread wear is very impressive. Granted the Jeep Grand Cherokee doesn't weigh all that much and is underpowered, the amount of full throttle application this set of tires has experienced would surely outweigh those criteria. With 38,000+ miles on them they've got more than 1/3 of the tread left. I would consider this very good compared to other offroad tires. Well worth the slightly higher price tag in my opinion!

...The tires have excellent traction and cornering in dry, rain, and varied snow depth conditions...

I have owned these tires for approximately three months. This is the worst winter I have driven in since 2010 and these tire are, without a doubt, well worth the money. All around performance is excellent particularly given the winter weather conditions this year and they look aggressive to the point of compliments from other drivers :-) The tires have excellent traction and cornering in dry, rain, and varied snow depth conditions. I have rarely had to use 4WD this winter and when I did, it was out of caution versus critical necessity. The tires do have some road noise, especially in cornering and 70+ mph Interstate speeds and do require a bit more adjustment in steering compared to normal A/T tires. Also, they will glide in slush but most tires, without studs, will do so. My biggest concern is that they will hold stones from offroad / gravel drives and throw them once on pavement. So far, the stones have only struck the inner wheel wells but I am slightly concerned that the tire might throw a stone into the exterior body panels if conditions are just right when considering outer tread patterns. I have fender flares so the risk is minimal but those without might be cautious of this issue. However, mud and water are clearly thrown onto the vehicle's sides much more from these tires - again due to outer edge tread pattern (even with fender flares). Bottom line - I would certainly buy these tires again and would recommend them to drivers with a properly equipped/designed vehicles who don't mind washing said equipment a bit more often than with normal A/T tires.

I also occasionally commute with this truck (80 miles each way) and it is by far the most comfortable ride I have ever been in...

I baught these for my 2013 Offroad Double cab Tacoma. Within 2 weeks we had a big NJ Hurricane Sandy and a week later a Nor'easter snow storm that dumped over 7 inches of snow. I drove 200 miles in blizzard conditions in close to 6 inches of snow in backroads and 3-4 on highway. I left my truck in 2wd the whole time, all 200+ miles and these tires performed amazing. Not once did I have to flip this into 4wd or even come close to it. I also occasionally commute with this truck (80 miles each way) and it is by far the most comfortable ride I have ever been in. I have yet to throw them through real tough mud, but im sure it will handle it as well with no issues.

Road noise is difficult to quantify as each vehicle will present with road noise differently (ie. a vehicle with better resistance to road noise will have better resistance to tires that give road noise). My Grand Cherokee had a pretty quiet cabin before I bought these tires and now instead of listening to music at a 10 to block out road noise, I listen to it at a 12-14 level. That's the best way I can think to quantify the increase in road noise...

I'm looking forward to my second winter with them as they have great traction in all weather and conditions. Expect a loss of gas mileage using these tires if you're coming from a all season truck tire, however for me the capability to drive anywhere, anytime justifies the loss of 2-5 MPG depending on driving style. I would, and probably will definitely buy these again.

...I was worried when reading the reviews to this tire saying that they don't last. I measured all 4 of my tires the other day and came up between 14.5 and 15/32 of tread remaining. Amazing. I have only been getting 22,000 miles per set of tires on average with this truck, and with these tires I only went through 1-2/32 in over 10,000 miles...

My 05' F150 has had Cooper a/t's, Firestone Destination a/t's, and General AmeriTrak a/t's on it and now these GY Duratracks.

When I drive, my foot is heavy on takeoff, but once I get to my speed I cruise if possible. I drive 95% on pavement 5% in the dirt. About 2/3's of my miles are on the highway, but I needed a tire that would handle that 5% that I am off-road. I figure that it's better to have an aggressive tire that will get me out of those sticky sitations when off-roading than to have a tire with the quietest & gas-saving qualities. I am glad that I did! Being stuck in the middle of nowhere by yourself is no picnic.

I was worried when reading the reviews to this tire saying that they don't last. I measured all 4 of my tires the other day and came up between 14.5 and 15/32" of tread remaining. Amazing. I have only been getting 22,000 miles per set of tires on average with this truck, and with these tires I only went through 1-2/32" in over 10,000 miles. The wear has far exceeded my expectations to this point.

There is a slight hum of the tires compared to less aggressive A/T tires, but not much more noticeable than a moderately loud computer fan. The sound is there, but is less than you might think.

My only knock on the Duratracks is that they do tend to wander a bit on the highway. At first I thought that it was just from all of the rubber on the tires. It may well be from that. The wandering does not increase with a loaded bed or towing. It is a consistent sliiight wander. Believe me, I am not bad mouthing these tires. It is very slight.

The traction is amazing. Wet, dry, ice, snow, dirt, mud, whatever... They will handle it all. Maybe not quite as well as a mud tire, but way, way better than an A/T tire.

So, to sum it up. Yes they are pricey, but they look mean, handle pretty good, last really long, and will take you almost anywhere. This is one of those tires that you get what you pay for...

Can't say enough good things about this Goodyear Duratrac. From traction to wear to noise to looks, it really has it all. Even with over 35000 miles on them, I still have 10-15% tread left. I'm also going to buy another size for another vehicle, because of how great this set has been. I like that Goodyear is the last remaining American tire company and it is another reason I like Goodyears. If they weren't as great as I say they are, I wouldn't buy them again. I've talked a couple of friends into them and so far they've both been really happy.

I run these tires on the drive axle of a 2WD pickup truck. They have never been off the drive axle and I rotate them side to side every 5,000 miles when I change my oil. I currently have 55,000 miles on this set and I will easily get another 5,000 out of them before I will replace them before winter weather arrives this year. I would say I drive somewhere between average and easy going and most of my miles are around town with occasional highway trips. My truck gets used fairly heavily for a half ton pickup with a lot of overloaded hauling and heavy towing up to 11,000 pounds in some cases. These tires are awesome in any condition and have lasted an extremely long time in my opinion given the way I use them. With these on the back of my truck its almost like having 4WD. I never slip or spin out and if the automatic locker in the rear end engages the truck will go just about anywhere with these tires. They developed a very slight road noise once they were around half tread. Given the aggressive tread pattern I would say this is more than acceptable, and has never gotten any worse. These are the best, longest lasting tires I have ever purchased for a pickup truck and will definitely be buying another set when these are totally gone. They cost a little more than most tires of equal size, however, they last over twice as long and provide much better performance in all conditions. The old cliché is still true: you get what you pay for.
