The Wrangler DuraTrac is Goodyear's Commercial All-Terrain light truck tire developed for the drivers of multi-purpose full-sized pickups, vans, sport utility and commercial vehicles looking for tires that play hard and work harder. The Wrangler DuraTrac is designed to be a versatile tire offering off-road competence in dirt, gravel and mud with on-road composure in dry, wet and wintry conditions.
Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rugged tread compound that helps resist tread block chipping, chunking and tearing, especially during heavy loading and towing applications. Its symmetric tread design combines large shoulders and highly angled center tread blocks to enhance stability and traction in dry and wet conditions. Self-cleaning, stepped shoulder blocks, zigzag sipes and Goodyear's TractiveGroove Technology at the base of the circumferential grooves provide thousands of biting edges to enhance traction in deep mud and snow. Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rim lock that helps prevent wheel slip throughout the life of the tire and offers a built-in rim protector to help protect wheels from accidental damage on- and off-road.
Wrangler DuraTrac light truck tires (with the exception of the 255/55R19-size) are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol to identify they meet the industry's severe snow service standards. Specific sizes not meeting the industry's severe snow service requirements are identified with a "Not Rated For Severe Snow" notation on the Specs tab.
Select flotation LT and LT-metric-sized Wrangler DuraTrac tires are designed to accept optional #16 metal studs to enhance ice traction.

...Great in all kinds of weather and driving conditions...
75,000 miles on the first set of Dura Trac's. Great tread life for an aggressive tread tire. Great in all kinds of weather and driving conditions. Minimal noise for this type of tire. Great buy !!

...As far as on wet roads, I've never hydroplaned, not once...
This is my second set of these tires on my 04 ram quad cab. As far as tread wear, on two sets I have a total of about 115,000 miles, and I still have about 20-25% of the tread left on the second set, so you be the judge on that. I live in west Michigan so we get snow, thanks to Lake Michigan lots of it. I rarely use 4x4, the traction on snow and ice is just that good. As far as wet roads, I¿ve never hydroplaned, not once. Noise isn¿t bad, you can hear them but not to much. The only issue I¿ve noticed with them is to make sure you put the max psi in them when airing them up. I¿ve noticed that if you don¿t you get the feeling of rolling on a ball when turning, putting the max air pressure in them stops that.

...So far I am pleased with performance dry/wet/snow.
In other reviews it was stated that these tires did not handle very well. Have had these on my Ram 1500 for over 4 months and they are better than the OEM Goodyears. So far I am pleased with teh performance dry/wet/snow.

Customers praise the Wrangler DuraTrac's excellent snow and deep snow traction, with most scoring 9s and 10s. Strong ice grip noted, though a few ratings suggest room for improvement in icy conditions.

I have pulled bigger vehicles out of ditches in the winter snow, gone through deep snow and mud, and had no problems on the ice. These tires are the best I've ever had on an SUV. I live in North Pole Alaska and the winters run from ice to deep snow and everything in between.
I have had these on for 2.5 years. I have pulled bigger vehicles out of ditches in the winter snow, gone through deep snow and mud, and had no problems on the ice. These tires are the best I've ever had on an SUV. I live in North Pole Alaska and the winters run from ice to deep snow and everything in between. Not sure why the guy with them on his truck from Fairbanks is having problems but I would bet it is not the tire; likely an alignment/steering equipment issue. This tires overall performance is top notch on all surfaces and if you want to put studs in them, they are ready for it. My wife drives this jeep most often and I trust these tires to keep her out of the ditch no matter the conditions, without concern. These tires are so impressive I'll be putting them on my 08 Liberty as soon as I wear the tires out that are currently on it. While there is some increase in road noise, it isn't bad in a well insulated/sound deadened vehicle and for the capability you get in all conditions, on all road surfaces, they can't be beat. Oh, my jeep doesn't have a winch so the people I pulled out, was with a tow strap hooked to the front tow hook or the rear hitch. I simple put it in 4X4, and let the tires grip and pull. Definitely worth getting if your driving is in all types of weather conditions and road surfaces, but if you are occaisionally in snow or icy conditions and rarely off road, there are other tires out there that ride smoother with less noise and will serve you well like the Fortera Triple Treads (what I currently have on my 08 Liberty). Don't get me wrong, the Fortera is a great tire, but I bought them originally for my wife who seldoms goes off road. After I put the Fortera's on the 08 and the Duratracs on the 07, she decided she like the 07 better so I'm in the 08. They are a great all season tire for the SUV, but not great for off road use unless it is dry.

...have been in spots pushing mud with front bumper and driving in snow above the bumper and can honestly say I have never once been scared I was going to be stuck...
Ran this tire on both my 06 Duramax and my 19 Duramax by far the best overall tire out there. Hauled heavy loads 20k lbs plus several times never once had an issue with tires in any aspect. have been in spots pushing mud with front bumper and driving in snow above the bumper and can honestly say I have never once been scared I was going to be stuck. If you don't believe this statement I encourage you to try the tires for yourself and you wont be disappointed.

...Dry traction is great, and off road they are probably one of the best all around tires available...
Great go between AT/MT tire. Has lasted for 60K miles easy, I could probably push them to 70K. On road manners are pretty good, I'm not crazy about the wet pavement traction, such as taking off from a stop sign on a wet street. But once you get them going the wet road manners are good. Dry traction is great, and off road they are probably one of the best all around tires available. They can pretty much do it all. E range does ride stiff, but that's to be expected. Based on the tread pattern the noise is there, but nothing like a MT. It's easily bearable. Really my only complaint, has been wet road traction from a stand still, or while turning. They can spin out pretty easy. Overall I'd give them a 85% if I were rating them as a whole.

The best tire I have ever put on a 4X4 truck. They cannot be described how good they are in the snow. They are just as good aired down in the sand. While they are not the most agressive mud tire the self-clean well and roll thru mud with ease. I drive alot offroad hunting and camping here in AZ and they show no signs of rock abrasions. It takes only a average amount to balance and they wear very evenly. My F350 weighs 9000lbs and I tow quite often. This is hands down the best tire under such loads. Period. I am so glad I have BFG in my rearview mirror. I am very pleased. Thank you Goodyear for such a great, American Tire!

Customers rate ride comfort highly, with most scoring 7-10 and many 9s/10s. Noise levels are generally positive for a rugged all-terrain tire, though some note occasional road feedback. The DuraTrac delivers impressive comfort in demanding conditions, aligning well with its commercial all-terrain design intent.

...Ride comfort was very good for a Jeep making a cross country drive...
These tires came highly recommended from some other Jeep owners. I purchased them and some 15 inch rims. Absolutely outstanding purchase. I put 2,000 miles on them before I had to make a 3,000 mile round trip from the midwest to the southeast. Ride comfort was what I would term very good for a Jeep making a cross country drive. I've rotated the tires once and have not noticed any appreciable treadwear--I use a 5 tire rotation. Tread is wearing evenly and with the Jeep, find that running 28-30PSI is about a perfect tire pressure, giving me maximum surface contact. I've experienced a variety of different environments, snow, ice, mud and loose soil--the tires offer me a confident grip and more than adequate braking. Overall, I'm thorougly satisfied with these tires. I'm not that concerned about the 2 ply sidewall as I'm not a rock crawler. Everything else about this tire certainly more than meets my needs. I will definitely by another set of these when the time comes.

...I don't drive off-road very much, but for daily city/highway driving they are quiet, smooth, stable, and comfortable...
The Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac offers a significant improvement over the OEM tires on my 2015 JKU Rubicon. I don’t drive off-road very much, but for daily city/highway driving they are quiet, smooth, stable, and comfortable. This is the 2nd set of Duratracs I’ve put on my Wrangler, and I’m very happy with them. I got 48,000 miles out of the first set with regular front to back (same side) rotations around every 5000-6000 miles. If you’re like me and haven’t lifted your Jeep and you drive mainly on-road (and occasionally in sand), I think you’ll be very happy with the Duratracs performance. One thing to note is that if you’re shopping by vehicle on the TireRack website, the Duratracs aren’t listed on the results for the OEM size of P255/75R17. I had to hunt for them and shop by tire size. I highly recommend them and will buy another set when the time comes.

...They're quite for an aggressive tread pattern on the highway, handle well for the tread pattern in highway driving...
I drive a 97 Grand Cherokee ZJ with 4" of lift and installed these tires in a 31x10.50x15 size. They've exceeded my expectations in every respect. They're quite for an aggressive tread pattern on the highway, handle well for the tread pattern in highway driving, and perform excellently off road. I primarily use my Jeep for off road use but it does drive upwards of 200 highway miles one way to different parks. I've also used it to travel to work when the weather is too bad to travel in my other vehicle. They handle very well in the snow, packed or deep, and even do well on ice. For a tire that's not a mud terrain tire, they do surprisingly well in the mud but I wouldn't say it's a replacement for a traditional mud terrain. I haven't had them in sand so I cannot comment on their sand capabilities. I only have about 5k miles on them so far but they seem to be wearing well and evenly, if they're even wearing at all yet. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a good all around tire for a vehicle that sees a multitude of uses. I'll most definitely be purchasing another set when the time comes.

...Tread wear has been very good for the moderately aggressive tread pattern, about 1/2 tread at 25,000 miles, and the noise level has not changed over the miles...
Best daily driver tires for a Jeep, period. No snow in central Arizona, but mud, sand and rocks when offroad are handled as well as any pure mud tire. Highway manners are as good or better than all terrain tires. Tread wear has been very good for the moderately aggressive tread pattern, about 1/2 tread at 25,000 miles, and the noise level has not changed over the miles. I would recommend this tire to everyone with a Wrangler.

...I have 35,000 miles on mine right now and my truck was just inspected and there is still 8/32 left in tread... I believe I will get 50,000 miles on these tires before I take them off!!...
Goodyear tires normally ---- but the Goodyear Duratrac is AWESOME!! I have 35,000 miles on mine right now and my truck was just inspected and there is still 8/32" left in tread. The tires are superior in mud and snow. I live on a dirt road back in the woods and we get a lot of snow, they are unbelievable. The best set of tires I have ever owned. The only negative I can say about the tires is that I lost about 2-3mpg after I put these tires on but other than that there is nothing negative to say about them. I believe I will get 50,000 miles on these tires before I take them off!! I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a good mud/snow tire, not to mention they look good.
