The CrossClimate² is Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs looking for daily driving comfort combined with confident performance in dry, wet and light snow conditions. The CrossClimate² is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance and is intended to function as a one-tire solution for drivers that experience all four seasons but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.

Michelin CrossClimate2 Callouts

The CrossClimate² features Michelin's Thermal Adaptive all-season tread compound molded into a V-Formation directional tread design engineered to deliver dry, wet and wintertime performance. Michelin utilized their PIANO Noise Reduction Tuning which employs advanced tread pattern modeling that helps tune out airborne noise by augmenting tread element geometry and timing variation. Longitudinal dry grip is promoted by the center portion of the tread, with blocks that align with fore and aft forces, increasing uninterrupted block area contact when accelerating or decelerating. Braking traction is further enhanced by V Ramp chamfers molded into the leading and trailing edges of the blocks that increase contact with the road surface under load. Further outboard, the shoulder blocks begin to align laterally with the tread, helping increase cornering forces and control. 3D SipeLock technology integrated into the tread, supports block rigidity for confident handling while also increasing traction in inclement weather. The steep angles designed into the tread pattern help channel water away from the contact patch, increasing hydroplaning resistance without the need for circumferential grooves. This grooveless pattern evens out load forces to benefit wear characteristics, while creating more biting area for wintertime traction. Snow performance is further enhanced by the Thermal Adaptive Tread compound, ensuring the tire remains flexible at lower temperatures for increased snow traction sufficient to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Internal construction of the CrossClimate² consists of a two-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement is added to further enhance high speed stability and performance.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

The Hankook Dynapro AT2 delivers excellent wet traction performance, with most customers scoring 9s and 10s for confident grip in rainy conditions. While a few ratings between 0-6 indicate isolated concerns, the tire's strong hydroplaning resistance aligns well with its all-terrain design.

...I've driven them in heavy rains and they perform flawlessly...

I put these on my 1965 Ford F100, it is a hot rod and I loved the look of these tires, I bought some nice American Outlaw Rims, put spacers on etc. Then dropped in a High HP and bored out 351W with a heavy duty C6 transmission. So it is a nice high horse power torque motor, anyway I thought I would be able to completely roast these tires off but I was wrong, they get great traction and handle so well that I have actually started driving faster in the vehicle and I don't want to burn the tires bcs they are so good I want them to last. I've driven them in heavy rains coming to and from car shows and getting accidentally caught in the rain when out for drives and they perform flawlessly. They will pick up rocks in the tread (like all off road tires) and throw them, but that is the only problem I have with these tires. They exceeded my expectations by several fold. I have been recommending them for months. Han-KOOK, the crazy Korean tires.

...In rainy situations they perform very similar to dry road conditions;understandably with the 17/32" tread depth...

Amazed with the ride quality and quietness. The softer sidewalls of the tire did take some getting
used to. But as my fuel economy did improve a bit,I was ok with turn in response lagging some.
I’ve only driven in light snow so far . These Hankooks are very sticky and predictable.
In rainy situations they perform very similar to dry road conditions;understandably with the 17/32 “
tread depth. I would not hesitate to buy the tires Again and recommend them highly to everyone!

...They were a big improvement in dry traction and decent improvement in wet traction. Still easy to get wheelspin when taking off in the wet...

Bought these as replacement for Dynapro ATM's of unknown date and mileage. They were a big improvement in dry traction and decent improvement in wet traction. Still easy to get wheelspin when taking off in the wet. The ATM's, though, would easily spin in the dry! At least that was better. Ride was a bit firm, but in keeping with a truck. Noise was moderate, again in keeping with a truck. That said, I've put on Cooper Discover AT3 4S tires and they're quieter (but still new, so we'll see with some mileage).
Dynapro AT2's look good and handle well. Just need better wet traction, a bit more in snow, too.

...The AT2's in a recent, in snow and ice, ran great for the short and steep climbs and descents at low speeds to and from the house. Plus the drives around town on packed snow. Expect them to also preform on the packed snow roadways at higher speeds.

These seem to meet my desires, was looking for a Snow Flake rated all terrain that was more road / highway than offroad. Have used both Duratrac's and Wildpeaks on a different vehicle, and have found these new AT2 (RF11's) to meet my needs. Like so many dream of the adventure, but realistically find myself on paved roads, or light gravel, that the local mini van can drive as well as the jacked 4x4 (haha).... We live in a steep hilled area, which with any snow/ice becomes a struggle to access the house with an all season tire. The AT2's in a recent, snow and ice storm, ran great for the short and steep climbs and descents at low speeds to and from the house. Plus the drives around town on packed snow. Expect them to also preform on the packed snow roadways at higher speeds.
As for everyday driving. We get lots of rain in Portland Oregon. The tire have run great over the first 2500 miles, driving from Portland to San Fran and back for holiday, my commute to work, city streets, freeways, and lots and lots of rain driving, they have tracked super well in all conditions so far. Hope to a some point drive them on some backroads, accessing camping and or MTB / Hiking trail, not that its a test, as often the in the past the Honda Fit went to as many locations as any other vehicle..

Tire guy told me to buy these and I wans't so sure. Bought them anyways because of the price and I do not regret it! I tow about 4 times a month and put about 23k miles a year on my truck. The tires still have plenty of tread left on them! They are also AMAZING in the snow. I live in Michigan, so this was super good for me. I even went up north on a few non maintenanced roads and never got stuck going through atleast 6" of unplowed snow. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone that wants tires that last a long time and perform well in any condition you put them in!

...Sadly, they're absolute garbage in moderate to deep wet snow. I took my truck to the abandoned town of Centralia; driving on streets that weren't plowed. Turned TCS off and proceeded to spin tire in 2WD, barely moving through 8 or so inches of snow...

UPDATE: Used these tires in real winter conditions in the mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania, followed up with lots of rainy weather driving in Southern Maryland.

Conclusion: DYNAPRO AT2's ----!!!

I visited my parents weeks ago and was excited to get these tires into some real snow to confirm or deny suspicions. Sadly, they're absolute garbage in moderate to deep wet snow. I took my truck to the abandoned town of Centralia; driving on streets that weren't plowed. Turned TCS off and proceeded to spin tire in 2WD, barely moving through 8 or so inches of snow. Put the truck in 4 HI and could move but spin tire at will with throttle. Tires were 31 PSI. Turned TCS back on and the truck moved but the front end would often understeer and "plow" instead of steer. Put the truck back into 2WD with TCS off and proceeded to kick the rear out and drift at will which is expected for a V8 pickup. Not an inspiring first experience in real snow conditions.

We got more snow that night. The following morning I left to run errands for my folks. Returned and decided to park my truck in the back yard to leave the driveway open for plowing. Put my truck in 4 LO, turned off of the road into the end of the yard. Got about 6 truck lengths into the yard and got stuck. This was in roughly 13" of wet snow. I've never gotten stuck in snow before in any of my 4x4's or the many cars I've had. Went through "Snowmeggedon" in Southern Maryland with an '02 Z71 that tackled 20"+ of snow on Truxus MT's. Careful driving and decent tires have kept me from being stuck up until now.

I waited until the driveway was cleared and shoveled down to grass, digging my truck out. Backed down onto the road and parked. Fast forward and I've spun tire on local wet roads and had the rear kick out at 45 MPH on a curve just 2 days ago. These tires are useless in snow, dangerous in the wet.

DO NOT BUY if you drive in wet or winter conditions!!!!!

...Dry traction was acceptable... Most OM tire selections are made for price and not quality - so it was no surprise. I replaced them a few days ago with BFG K02 and the difference in dry traction is noticable already with brand new not broken in tires.

Tire was OEM on my F-150 4WD with . After 10,000 miles rotated once @ 5000 and replaced with BFG K02's at 10,000 - half the tread was gone. Tires were kept at 38psi as indicated on the door label. They were wearing and starting to round off at the outsides. Treadwear looked to be unacceptable - Truck was mostly on road - maybe 500 miles of gravel and fields. They were not flat resistant with two tires being repaired in 18 months, finally I drove over something that shredded the outside tread and I was not going to waste $250 replacing one tire. Wet traction was poor even at slow speeds in 2WD but acceptable in 4WD / AWD option on the Lariat. Rear's would slide and chatter in turns even with new Bilstein shocks to stabilize the rear end. Did not take them to snow. Dry traction was acceptable. Most OM tire selections are made for price and not quality - so it was no surprise. I replaced them a few days ago with BFG K02 and the difference in dry traction is noticable already with brand new not broken in tires.

Bought these to replace my oem tires on my Honda Ridgeline (245/60/R18 Firestone Destination LE2) and they're a huge improvement on ride quality and noise despite being an AT tire. On the first day, I found myself driving faster because I couldn't tell how fast I was driving by how smooth the ride was. We have not had really serious storms, but they have behaved great the times I've been driving while raining. If there's a big drawback is that my MPG is being penalized but that's understandable because I went with a larger size tire (255/60/R18) than the oem so the weight increased by about 6 lbs per tire, along with the footprint (wider, so also more resistance). It's still within the acceptable range if you do highway driving, but you'll definitively see a bigger impact to your MPG if all you do is city driving.

I have not tested these tires in true AT conditions, and likely never will because the Ridgeline is not a truck meant for offroading, like the Tacomas are, but I think they're perfect for people that will only do light trails/dirt roads at most. In other words, they're incredibly civilized for being classified AT tires -- make of that what you will.

Don't take this as me trashing the tire, they're perfect for me and my needs, I just think the caveat emptor is warranted.
