The Kinergy GT is Hankook's Grand Touring All-Season tire originally developed for Original Equipment use on vehicles from Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Volkswagen. It is designed to provide a quiet and comfortable driving experience combined with traction in all weather conditions, even light snow.
The Kinergy GT molds a silica-infused, all-season compound into a symmetric, five-rib tread pattern. The rigid center rib aids traction for acceleration and braking performance, and the high-modulus bead filler increases sidewall stiffness for responsive steering. The high-grip silica tread compound delivers wet traction, while wide lateral notches and four circumferential grooves evacuate water from beneath the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. Multiple tread sipes feature chamfered edges to maximize contact area on slippery surfaces, providing confident all-season traction.
Internal construction of the Kinergy GT features two wide, steel belts with a full-width nylon reinforcement (in most sizes) for improved handling, durability and high-speed stability. A body casing made from polyester cord helps manage the trade-off between handling and comfort, while the strong, jointless bead wire enhances uniformity for a smoother ride.

Feedback consistently shows the Hankook Kinergy GT delivers strong dry traction (scores 8-10) with responsive handling, meeting expectations for a Grand Touring All-Season tire. However, comfort receives mixed feedback, with some noting excessive road noise and harshness. Treadwear scores (often 0-5) raise concerns about longevity, a notable drawback for an all-season tire. Winter traction shows inconsistency, particularly on ice and in deep snow, with scores ranging widely (0-8). Wet traction is generally adequate (scores 5-8), though some report reduced hydroplaning resistance. While dry performance shines, buyers prioritizing comfort or winter capability may find limitations.

...Dry traction is adequate and cornering stability is not bad...
Nice comfortable ride and low road noise. But that's where the positives end. Treacherous on wet roads or any precipitation. Dry traction is adequate and cornering stability is not bad. I understand why Tesla would want an internal foam-lined tire to offset the inherent road noise in the cabin of the pre-2024 Model 3. But the trade off in this case was not worth it by any means. I would stay away from this tire if you're purchasing replacements. Even after only 5K on these I will likely replace with something safer.

Got these with new 2020 Honda Civic and they only lasted me 28,850 miles and 4 years. My driving style is not aggressive at all. Combined usage of city and highway equally. Mostly driven the car in dry conditions. I didn't have much issue with hydroplaning or traction, I just think they got worn out with less miles than expected.

Wet traction scores show concerning inconsistency, with many ratings between 0-6. Customers report a slippery feel, tendency to hydroplane, and mediocre wet performance for this all-season tire, indicating significant room for improvement.

...I have very little confidence in these tires when the road is wet, especially when turning...
These are the tires that came with the vehicle when purchased new from Honda. I have very little confidence in these tires when the road is wet, especially when turning. We get a few snow storms a year in Maryland, they are abysmal in snow. I've driven plenty of FWD cars with all season tires in the snow so I feel pretty confident in my ability to compare them and by far these have been the worst I've driven.

Had a 2020 accord a couple years ago, ended up going through 3 complete sets before 60k miles. The wet traction and hydroplaning resistance on this tire is scary under moderate acceleration the fronts would struggle for traction. I did end up hydroplaning while using this tire which ended putting me into a ditch a ditch with damage done to my car tires were checked for tread depth all of which had 24/32 depth. Everything else about the tire is poor besides dry traction which I would rate fair and even that’s a bit generous

...Wet performance is pathetic, giving no confidence in cornering and exhibiting terrible hydroplaning compared to the '17's fitment...
This is the OEM tire for my current '19 Civic hatch. Compared with the Bridgestones or Firestones that came OEM on my '17 Civic (lost to a T-bone incident), these are a great disappointment (maybe cost-cutting on Honda's part?). Wet performance is pathetic, giving no confidence in cornering and exhibiting terrible hydroplaning compared to the '17's fitment. Dry performance is also subpar with noticable squeal in spirited cornering compared to previous Civic (regardless of pressure). They're also noticeably louder on smooth surfaces, and howl on heavily textured roads. Only saving grace? Treadwear seems decent so far. Would NOT recommend.

Winter traction ratings show concerning scores, with many 0-5s for ice and deep snow. Customers report slippery conditions, getting stuck, and lack of winter traction despite its all-season intent.

26000 miles and this tire is down to 3/32 on a small SUV. Its an okay tire in the summer but winter driving is very poor. Would not buy or recommend these tires.

...Tire is dangerous in slush, snow and ice... Car wants to constantly fish tail and traction systems are going bonkers even set on deep snow/sand mode...
Barely serviceable in wet conditions. Tire is dangerous in slush, snow and ice. Not even 2000 miles on these and they are coming off. Car wants to constantly fish tail and traction systems are going bonkers even set on deep snow/sand mode. They seem fine on dry pavement and comfortable. Any other condition brings the vehicle almost to a stand still to drive safely.

...They are the worst all-season tires on snow that I have ever used. I had less traction on snow in an AWD using these tires than in FWD on a competitor's all-season tires. They are so bad that I would consider them dangerous in snow...
I am taking a moment to warn anyone against purchasing these tires for snow travel. They are the worst all-season tires on snow that I have ever used. I had less traction on snow in an AWD using these tires than in FWD on a competitor's all-season tires. They are so bad that I would consider them dangerous in snow. I had to lock the differential on my AWD vehicle to get myself unstuck IN A PARKING LOT on snow on these tires. I'm done with Korean automobile products! Absolute garbage.

While some rate comfort highly with 9s-10s, numerous scores between 0-6 highlight harsh ride, unbearable noise, and dissatisfaction. Many report low comfort and poor ride quality, conflicting with Grand Touring expectations.

...Compared to the Continentals they are incredibly LOUD and ride like bricks...
These tiers are OEM on my "new" (freshly out of VW diesel jail) 2015 Passat TDI. I had to drive a 2017 Passat (identical car) with Continental tires as OEM, so I could compare directly. I have no complaints about the Hankooks in terms of dry performance. Haven't driven in rain or snow. But I can tell you this: Compared to the Continentals they are incredibly LOUD and ride like bricks. Steering responsiveness is notably more vague than the Contis as well. If you have Hankooks as OEM on your car do NOT buy another set. There are far better options out there, and many of them are cheaper.

...They are very, very loud at any speed or on any highway above 50 mph! I have to to turn up the radio very loud to hear conversations. They also are very firm tire, so potholes reverberate throughout the entire car, even when I have the set up on 'comfort'...
These are the OEM tires on my GLI and they just ruin the overall experience. They are very, very loud at any speed or on any highway above 50 mph! I have to to turn up the radio very loud to hear conversations. They also are very firm tire, so potholes reverberate throughout the entire car, even when I have the set up on "comfort". Hankook is also impossible to deal with. Their customer service was completely indifferent to my concerns or needs. I will NEVER willingly by Hankook tires based on this experience. Avoid this tire at all costs.

...When you have 18 wheels and sport suspension, there is a feeling as if you were driving a carriage, not a car, especially on New York roads...
This set came on my 2018 Camry SE. These tires are the worst I've owned so far. When you have 18" wheels and sport suspension, there is a feeling as if you were driving a carriage, not a car, especially on New York roads. I keep the tire pressure at 35 PSI as recommended by Toyota. Driving on a dry highway is better, but when it is raining you have to slow down because the car starts hydroplaning. The tires are useless in light snow, better not to get your car on the road. The tires came with my leased car, definitely have to take them off and replace with something decent and then return the OEM tires to the dealership at the end of the lease.
Don't waste your money!

Treadwear ratings reveal significant dissatisfaction, with many scores between 0-5 citing premature wear, rapid tread loss, and needing replacement early. While some rate 7-10, frequent low scores highlight poor longevity for a Grand Touring tire, with customers disappointed in mileage and excessive wear.

...They were 60% worn at around 13,000 miles - unacceptable for a 60k mile tire with a tire rotation done every 5k miles...
I purchased these only because of a rebate going on at the time. Snow and wet traction is my main concern, as well as treadwear. These categories are probably these tires' worst features. They were fine in light snow when they were brand new. They were 60% worn at around 13,000 miles - unacceptable for a 60k mile tire with a tire rotation done every oil change (5k miles). My next set of tires were a Continental PureContact which are the best tires I've ever owned.

...This is the 3rd Volkswagen I have purchased brand new and have never had a set of tires go bald before 30k miles before. Already dishing out hundreds of dollars to replace 4 tires on a relatively new car...
These were the OEM tires on the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta SE. They handled okay in dry or wet conditions (except in very heavy rain) but performed very poorly in snow or ice, which is terrible considering I live in upstate NY. However, the biggest complaint is with treadwear. This is the 3rd Volkswagen I have purchased brand new and have never had a set of tires go bald before 30k miles before. Already dishing out hundreds of dollars to replace 4 tires on a relatively new car. If you're considering buying these, please think again! Definitely not worth the price.

...I now have 21,100 miles on my car, driven in just over two years, and I am already below 2/32nds. For a tire that is supposed to have a 70k warranty, the tread wear was abysmal.
These were on my car when purchased new from a dealer. Driving on them was unremarkable. They gave a fairly quiet drive and I never had any issues in the rain (I live in the South, so snow experience is all but non-existent). I now have 21,100 miles on my car, driven in just over two years, and I am already below 2/32nds. For a tire that is supposed to have a 70k warranty, the tread wear was abysmal.
