The Kinergy GT is Hankook's Grand Touring All-Season tire originally developed for Original Equipment use on vehicles from Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Volkswagen. It is designed to provide a quiet and comfortable driving experience combined with traction in all weather conditions, even light snow.
The Kinergy GT molds a silica-infused, all-season compound into a symmetric, five-rib tread pattern. The rigid center rib aids traction for acceleration and braking performance, and the high-modulus bead filler increases sidewall stiffness for responsive steering. The high-grip silica tread compound delivers wet traction, while wide lateral notches and four circumferential grooves evacuate water from beneath the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. Multiple tread sipes feature chamfered edges to maximize contact area on slippery surfaces, providing confident all-season traction.
Internal construction of the Kinergy GT features two wide, steel belts with a full-width nylon reinforcement (in most sizes) for improved handling, durability and high-speed stability. A body casing made from polyester cord helps manage the trade-off between handling and comfort, while the strong, jointless bead wire enhances uniformity for a smoother ride.

User feedback reveals the Hankook Kinergy GT delivers strong dry traction (scores 8-10), with many praising its confident handling in dry conditions. However, comfort receives mixed reactions, with some noting excessive road noise and inconsistent ride smoothness. Treadwear is a frequent concern, with multiple reports of rapid wear even under moderate use. Winter traction shows limitations, particularly on ice (scores 0-4), though some find it adequate in light snow. Wet performance is generally acceptable for all-season use (scores 5-8), but hydroplaning resistance draws occasional criticism in heavy rain. Dry-road capability remains the standout feature for this grand touring tire.

...fantastic dry traction... dry traction was still similar...
I'd like to start off by saying that I'm usually flying close to 100 in my car. With that said, in the first 10 months, the tires were great (and this is in MN). Had fantastic dry traction, solid wet traction, and I could manage the snow while driving my front wheel drive 6 speed manual. After 10 months have gone by, I had 4/32" tread depth left in the front and 8/32" in the back. And so I did a tire rotation. Performance reduced drastically, dry traction was still similar, wet traction decreased significantly, found myself in the ditch once going 70mph in medium/heavy rain. The tire used to be able to handle that quite well. Snow traction has yet to be tested but outlook does not look promising. I should note that when these were brand new, during the first heavy snow fall here in MN I took these cruising on an un-plowed highway going 70+ and aside from a few times the car started drifting where I didn't want it to go, the tires performed extremely well. Overall, first year you'll enjoy your tire but I'd recommend getting rid of them after that. If you're a regular driver and not like me where you're trying to push your car every day, you could get 2 years out of them before a significantly noticeable decrease in performance.

...Wet performance is pathetic, giving no confidence in cornering and exhibiting terrible hydroplaning compared to the '17's fitment...
This is the OEM tire for my current '19 Civic hatch. Compared with the Bridgestones or Firestones that came OEM on my '17 Civic (lost to a T-bone incident), these are a great disappointment (maybe cost-cutting on Honda's part?). Wet performance is pathetic, giving no confidence in cornering and exhibiting terrible hydroplaning compared to the '17's fitment. Dry performance is also subpar with noticable squeal in spirited cornering compared to previous Civic (regardless of pressure). They're also noticeably louder on smooth surfaces, and howl on heavily textured roads. Only saving grace? Treadwear seems decent so far. Would NOT recommend.

Scary wet traction. I would have crashed if I didn't countersteer to correct the heading... Scary wet traction. I would have crashed if I didn't countersteer to correct the heading.
Even in dry conditions, a bit of excessive torque will make the front tires slip.
In wet conditions, poor hydroplaning resistance of the tires will induce dangerous driving situations on a rainy highway of Greater Vancouver. At traffic lights, acceleration from rest will easily induce slippage and cause dangerous loss of grip that may result in colliding with the vehicle next to own vehicle.
In snowy conditions, it is very dangerous to drive on these tires. Countersteering technique is REQUIRED if you wish to drive on snow with these tires fitted.
Not recommended as these tires do not provide adequate safety in wet conditions.

...I have very little confidence in these tires when the road is wet, especially when turning...
These are the tires that came with the vehicle when purchased new from Honda. I have very little confidence in these tires when the road is wet, especially when turning. We get a few snow storms a year in Maryland, they are abysmal in snow. I've driven plenty of FWD cars with all season tires in the snow so I feel pretty confident in my ability to compare them and by far these have been the worst I've driven.

...If you have any snow in your area, do not purchase these tires. I was on the fence about dedicated winter tires until the first dusting of snow, at which point I had great difficulty driving up shallow grades...
While these tires have acceptable dry performance, they melt like butter in a hot skillet. 20K miles, and the tread depth is at 3/32, simply unacceptable. If you have any snow in your area, do not purchase these tires. I was on the fence about dedicated winter tires until the first dusting of snow, at which point I had great difficulty driving up shallow grades.
Wet weather performance is abysmal. The tires have no grip, and even moderate acceleration in the wet causes wheelspin. I can't believe VW put these tires on the GLI as OE.
I'm going to finish this season, swap to my winter Blizzaks, and look forward to a good set of Michelins in the spring.
In summary: reasonable in the dry, unacceptable tread life, horrid wet weather grip. It's worth spending the money on something else, these tires are awful.

...sliding all over. Horrible traction and feels like a death trap...
These came on my 2020 Accord and I figured I would be good through the snow season... Well, 1st snow and I am sliding all over. Horrible traction and feels like a death trap. DO NOT BUY THESE TIRES! I have 12000 miles on a 70K mile rated tired and it is insane how bad they are.

...Where they really fall down is snow traction. These may be the worst tires for even light snow that I've encountered in 15+ years. Rounding a gentle curve at 10 MPH in well under an inch of wet snow, I may as well have been driving on solid ice...
These are the OE tires on my 2024 Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid. They're decently well behaved on dry roads but less so in the rain - I've had to slow down a bit more than I thought should be necessary to prevent hydroplaning. The ride quality and road noise levels could both be better for a Grand Touring tire, but they're not terrible. Where they really fall down is snow traction. These may be the worst tires for even light snow that I've encountered in 15+ years. Rounding a gentle curve at 10 MPH in well under an inch of wet snow, I may as well have been driving on solid ice. The car began to understeer, and the most gentle application of the brakes resulted in the ABS kicking in without much in the way of deceleration. The tires are also wearing such that they'll be down to 4/32" by around 20k miles, but the poor wear hardly matters - given my experience in the snow, they're getting replaced ASAP.

...They seem fine on dry pavement and comfortable...
Barely serviceable in wet conditions. Tire is dangerous in slush, snow and ice. Not even 2000 miles on these and they are coming off. Car wants to constantly fish tail and traction systems are going bonkers even set on deep snow/sand mode. They seem fine on dry pavement and comfortable. Any other condition brings the vehicle almost to a stand still to drive safely.

...These Hankook Kinergy GT tires are not very good at all. Noise and comfort are only average during dry conditions...
OEM tires on our 2021 Honda CRV EXL. These Hankook Kinergy GT tires are not very good at all. Noise and comfort are only average during dry conditions. Wet traction is abysmal. At 15,000 miles and on the highway during a light rain, they repeatedly hydroplaned enough at 65 MPH to disengage the cruise control. At 21.000 miles they are almost down to the wear bars. We also picked up a small nail that is almost impossible to plug without an interior patch. I have plugged many tires but none so resistant to repair as this one. Snow performance is below average.

...Living in the country with moderately curvy roads and 75% highway driving, this tire lasted 27k miles when it was already recommended to be replaced by the dealer. This meant maybe 2-3 more months and its time to look around for a new set... I could get about 35k miles out of this tire at the max, which is normal for a sporty tire. Do not expect anywhere near 70k miles unless you live in perfect conditions with no rain, snow, perfect roads with no curves...
First of all. This is a Sport A/S Tire rated for 70k miles. That right there off the bat says it will not live up to its mile rating because a sporty tire will never even reach 40-50k miles unless you drive really slow.
Living in the country with moderately curvy roads and 75% highway driving, this tire lasted 27k miles when it was already recommended to be replaced by the dealer. This meant maybe 2-3 more months and its time to look around for a new set. I'd say if i didn't blow one of them on a curb (which turns out these tires are FRAGILE) I could get about 35k miles out of this tire at the max, which is normal for a sporty tire. Do not expect anywhere near 70k unless you live in perfect conditions with no rain, snow, perfect roads with no curves. And if you drive spiritedly take another 10k off your guess.
Next. These tires are ROCK HARD. It is a sporty tire but putting it on a camry as a OEM tire is the dumbest thing i have ever seen. Bridgestone potenza's are quieter and about the same price and will actually last their rated mileage. They are also ludicrously noisy. I thought that my car just had a lot of wind noise. Nope. Turns out that after switching to a set of decent michelin tires that these hankooks are just plain noisy. I used to keep my music on 25-30 volume and now I can turn my music down to 15-20 simply because of less road and wind noise.
They do handle really well, but they have no traction when wet. Spin tires for DAYS.
