The Optimo H426 is one of Hankook's Grand Touring All-Season tires developed for Original Equipment (O.E.) use on sporty sedans. The Optimo H426 is designed to provide attractive looks, predictable handling and year-round traction, even in occasional light snow.

The Optimo H426 features a symmetric, independent-block tread design that uses an all-season tread compound to provide traction on dry, wet and light snow-covered roads. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by nylon to stabilize the tread area and a polyester cord body to help cushion the ride.

*Specific sizes featuring low rolling resistance technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Customers Say

Feedback patterns show the Hankook Optimo H426 delivers excellent dry traction (scores 9-10 frequently noted), with responsive handling in dry conditions. However, comfort receives mixed feedback, with some noting a smooth ride while others report road noise and firmness. Treadwear raises concerns, with many reports of rapid wear and lower-than-expected tread life. Winter traction struggles in snow and ice, with scores often below 5, and wet traction shows inconsistency-decent grip in light rain but hydroplaning risks in heavy downpours. While strong in its core dry performance, limitations in all-season versatility and durability may affect long-term satisfaction for drivers prioritizing year-round use.

Don't understand the negative reviews. These tires are great on dry pavement and have handled all the bumps and potholes. Had no problems after an ice storm hit and they have performed well in wet weather. Handling is excellent as well. Haven't been able to test them in the snow yet.

...On a nice, smooth road, they are not bad...

These are decent tires. On a nice, smooth road, they are not bad. At higher speeds (>70 mph) they are quite loud. On a rough road, especially a textured or grooved road, they are really loud and rough. They were bad enough that I sold the ones that came with my VW Passat with 200 miles on them and bought Michelin Primacy MXM4's. So much better!

Stay away from this tire. First year is ok (average), however, by the second year the tire performs dangerously in damp/wet weather. Ride is hard, but thread wear resistance is about the only positive experience.

...Wet traction is so bad that when you try to accelerate from dead stop and you hit a gas pedal a bit too much ESP kicks in...

I was very surprised that VW would actually put such a terrible tire on the Passat. If you live in Midwest or anywhere else where it snows DO NOT BUY this tire!!! Wet traction is so bad that when you try to accelerate from dead stop and you hit a gas pedal a bit too much ESP kicks in. When you try to get going in snow, forget about it. ESP constantly kicks in and you have no traction at all. Basically terrible, terrible tire. I am leasing this car so it's pointless for me to buy a new set of tires.

As with many reviews here, I am disappointed with the lack of wet traction and the seemingly rapid tread wear. I have been able to survive Northeast winters with these tires largely due to my 5-speed manual that allows me to better control wheel spin and engine braking. I was initially excited at having Hankook tires as OEM but that enthusiasm has quickly vanished. At around 30,000 miles, the sipes and transverse pattern were nearly gone leaving only the longitudinal grooves. The tires' appearance reminds me of tractor-trailer retreads. I cannot wait to purchase proper all-season tires as I have no confidence in winter driving on these tires. Looks like I will be putting more miles on my Jeep Wrangler for the remainder of this winter season.

I attempted a gradual turn at approximately 15 MPH, on approximately 1" of snow, and slid off the road into a curb. I was shocked at how easily these tires broke loose laterally and the damage that occured to my car because of it. Dry and wet road traction seem fine but watch yourself in snow!

These are the tires that came from the factory. The traction grooves cut in the tires disappeared around 15000 miles, leaving a few deep grooves with smooth flat surface, thus anything wet, let alone snow, is pointless to attempt to drive in. I am currently searching for a different tire. One that delivers comfort, longevity, and most importantly, grip. For the price of these tires, I would keep searching.

I have only gotten 24,000 miles on these tires and they are at the wear bar already . My first experience in light snow made me think my brand new car had issues but everything checks out ok on the car . These are terrible tires in light, moderate snow and gravel hard pan roads ice too but I wouldn't expect much in a none winter dedicated tire . In dry areas this tire is fine but in mixed environments like in VA I would not recommend this tire .

...From the beginning I was a little uncomfortable with the stiff ride, lack of steering response, and road noise, but because the car is so spaciest and stylish I tolerated those issues...

These are the OEM tires for the Hyundai Azera, which other then the tires is a superior vehicle in all respects. From the beginning I was a little uncomfortable with the stiff ride, lack of steering response, and road noise, but because the car is so spaciest and stylish I tolerated those issues. I do a lot of driving for my business and thankfully the Hankooks wore out fast. I purchased a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires based on the Tire Rack survey and reviews. After the switch I realize now I should have just changed the tires as soon as I bought the car. It's like I purchased a new car. The stiff ride is much improved, steering is more responsive, and the road noise has me driving without the radio on just so I can hear how quiet the ride is. I don't know why a car company attempting to market a $38,000 full size luxury sedan would EVER allow them to leave the lot with such inferior tires. The $170 difference between a set of Hankook Optimas and a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 probably cost them millions in lost revenue simply because vehicle reviewers didn't like the ride and noise (which are the biggest complaints on most Azera reviews). And lastly, during the multiple snows storms we had in the Baltimore area last year my car was nearly useless; the Hankooks are terrible in snow and ice.

this is a loud low profile tire- have had 3 with bubbles on the sidewall this winter. i am going to a 17" tire to get a more comfortable and quiet ride. these tires are NOISY. they also don't ride comfortably, and they have a propensity for bubbles on the sidewalls. i really, really don't like these tires.

These were the OEM tires on my Ford Fiesta hatchback. I made it to 19,000 miles and am already needing new tires because they almost have no tread at all. I do have a spirited driving style so I didn't expect to make it to 60,000 but 19,000 miles seems a little ridiculous. My car is not powerful enough to go driving around like Ken Block so there is no reason that these should have worn out that quickly. I was expecting to make it to at least 40,000 miles but I'm on my way to get new tires now and they definitely won't be these ones
