The Ventus V4 ES (H105) is Hankook's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sports coupes and performance sedans. The Ventus V4 ES is designed to combine cutting-edge appearance with predictable handling, traction and control on dry and wet roads, as well as in occasional light snow.

The Ventus V4 ES molds an ultra high performance all-season tread compound into a directional design featuring a continuous center rib flanked by stable independent intermediate and shoulder tread blocks to enhance dry traction. Wide circumferential main grooves and multiple lateral side slots create waterways that aid water drainage to minimize hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Sipes in each tread block increase the number of biting edges to reinforce winter traction without abandoning wet and dry handling.

Hankook's Controlled Footprint Shape profile uses the tire's internal structure of twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to promote predictable handling and uniform wear.

Customers Say

Ratings data demonstrates the Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 excels in dry traction, with scores frequently reaching 8-10 for confident handling and responsive steering. Wet traction earns strong marks (7-10 range) for grip and hydroplaning resistance, though a minority report reduced performance in heavy rain. Winter traction shows limitations, with inconsistent snow/ice scores (0-8) suggesting cautious use in severe conditions. Comfort receives praise for smooth ride quality and low noise (8-10 typical). Treadwear ratings are polarized-many highlight impressive longevity (8-10), but others note rapid wear, particularly among drivers prioritizing aggressive cornering. Overall, it delivers well-rounded all-season performance with minor tradeoffs in extreme winter scenarios.

...Live in the northwest so know that wet weather traction is great on these tires...

These have been the best tires for Z cars only tire that I have got over 10k out of and ride and performance is better than tire that are twice as much on my 2nd Z and ditched those Bridgestone's that came on it right away and put these on worth every penny. Live in the northwest so know that wet weather traction is great on these tires. Have told many Z owners about these tires now have 10 friends running same tire on there Z's all with same results everyone who has ran them likes these tires.

I have more confidence at high speeds in rain & dry weather...cornering is something out of a race track...

I originally had Goodyear RSA's OEM....Horrible tire...terrible in the rain terrible in the snow & very unstable!...When I switched to the Hankooks...I immediately saw a HUGE difference....my car feels brand new & handles like a champ..I have more confidence at high speeds in rain & dry weather...cornering is something out of a race track & when I go over bumps on highway the car handles like a champ. With the good years I had ZERO confidence on the road!....Definitely a great purchase...I havent driven in snow conditions as yet but based on how the hankooks handle in the rain im sure they will do just fine in light snow...I dont expect much from a low profile tire in the snow anyway...just plain physics. All in all a great tire for the price its actually a steel....I strongly recommed this tire.

...Dry traction is fantastic. The tires are extremely predictable when cornering... These tires eliminate that issue, give the 300 a solid feel, and make it corner like it's on rails...

I live in Northern California and don't have a lot of the weather issues that other reviewers must have. These have been great tires on my Chrysler 300. Dry traction is fantastic. The tires are extremely predictable when cornering. Anyone who has had stock tires on a Chrysler 300 knows that the 300 is like a dancing bear on a ball. The stock tires constantly wanted to turn one way or the other. These tires eliminate that issue, give the 300 a solid feel, and make it corner like it's on rails. If you drop a couple of gears and head hard into a turn these tires are rock solid. I don't have any of the sidewall softness issues that one reviewer here reports.

The wet traction is interesting at times. My traction control will come on when accelerating from a dead stop when there is a lot of water on the road from heavy rain. The tires do like to float at freeway speeds when there enough water to create pooling, but what wide performance tire doesn't? That is an issue with a 265/35 R22 on any car. It's never been an issue that has created control issues for me.

Perhaps these tires are better suited for cars vs street trucks due to weight issues and load differences on the front & rear tires caused by weight and profile.

Treadwear has been excellent.

Bottom line: This is a performance tire that loves dry roads. It performs well enough on wet roads to interest me in purchasing it again. For California, it's a great tire.

I replaced a set of Fuzion HRi with the Hankook Ventus V4. The first thing I noticed was how much quieter the ride was. No longer did I have to raise my voice to speak to the kids in the back seat although different types of asphalt had a direct impact on road noise. Next I noticed that the ride was much more civilized; not every bump came through as a sharp kick. Cornering, although not as quick as with the much more rigid side wall of the Fuzion, was still very acceptable for my driving style. Driving home on I-95 during a torrential downpour proved no problem for the Ventus V4. Overall I am very happy with this tire, hopefully tread wear won't disappoint.

A well priced performance tire that becomes very noisy after only 25% wear... wears very well but I prefer a softer, quieter much more responsive tire.

A well priced performance tire that becomes very noisy after only 25% wear. It is slow to respond to steering input and doesn't have much of a ride. I found it handles quite well in aggressive situations, wears very well but I prefer a softer, quieter much more responsive tire.

...Treadwear is exceptional...

These are the worst all-season tires I have had to endure. They may have faired better on our Audi S4. On our front wheel drive station wagon they went from bearable to downright dangerous in any driving conditions other then warm and dry. In the rain they showed little desire to provide any semblance of traction. Forget about these as all-seasons! We choose to use winter tires(Hankook Ice bears) when it comes to cold weather. These tires traction becomes ridiculously bad when the temperature goes below 50 degrees. Treadwear is exceptional. They do not provide any confidence to drive with any aggression or spirit! Heaven help you if you own a front wheel drive with any power and choose to fit it with these! I have just purchased a set of Hankook Ventus V12evo's to replace these. I will report after a summer with them. I don't hold a grudge against the manufacturer for these poor performers.

...During the winter, this tire is downright unsafe. Unless you are driving incredibly slowly and don't turn much, you'll be risking your life every time you leave the house. My Eclipse is FWD, and yet I can't start moving at stoplights...

These tires aren't anything special. I've had them for 6 months and put on 8,000 miles, and they really don't excel in any area. During the summer, they run very level and smooth, but you do feel plenty of bumps. The turning capabilities aren't anything to write home about... although I do turn quicker and easier that my friends that have fusion tires. They have started to get louder and louder the more they wear. They aren't too bad yet, but I've noticed the noise levels increasing and I feel that in another 4000 miles it might be unbearable.
During the winter, this tire is downright unsafe. Unless you are driving incredibly slowly and don't turn much, you'll be risking your life every time you leave the house. My Eclipse is FWD, and yet I can't start moving at stoplights. Just today while driving home, a Jeep in front of me slammed on the brakes for some reason, and I just tapped on them to start slowing down, and I just started going sideways. Only going about 35 mph on a plowed and sanded road and I just spun out. The snow will get into the tiny grooves in these tires and turn them into slicks. (Pun intended)

I honestly do not feel safe driving in the winter with these tires, and if you were intending to use them mostly as a summer tire, well chances are you'll probably be disappointed in that field aswell.
