The Ecsta LX Platinum (KU27) is Kumho's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed to meet the needs of sporty coupe and luxury performance sedan drivers. It is designed to blend responsive handling, long wear and a quiet ride with year-round traction including in light snow.

Kumho molds their advanced all-season tread compound into the Ecsta LX Platinum radial's asymmetric tread design where three different types of sipes are used to enhance all-season traction. Outboard shoulder and intermediate tread block sipes terminate in stress relief dimples to help the sipe openings blend straight-line snow traction with lateral grip. Straight sipes are used for the middle blocks while waffle design sipes are used on the inboard intermediate and shoulder tread blocks to blend dry-road stability with all-season traction. The internal structure of Ecsta LX Platinum tires feature twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon cord on top of a polyester cord casing to combine high-speed durability with ride quality.

...Best tires I ever owned nice quiet ride and great traction dry or wet.

Had sumitomo tires before these and they were wasted by 27000 miles. Had these for almost 60000 miles and they still have about 10 or 15 k left on them! Best tires I ever owned nice quiet ride and great traction dry or wet.

...It handles like a dream now and stops on a dime in the rain...

I just replaced crappy Dunlap Signature tires on my Lexus ES300 with these Kumho Escta LX Platniums. I am so impressed with how the ride of my car totally changed for the better! It handles like a dream now and stops on a dime in the rain. I have had experience with Kumho's and absolutely love their tires! Also just purchased these for my boyfriends 2009 Toyota Corolla because he travels 100 miles a day to work and needed a great tire on his car. Will get back with an update when we both put some miles on our cars.

...during in Winter, I drove with confidence...

I bought these tires after getting tired of replacing the Michelin OEM tires for this car year after about 10k miles. The difference was immediate when I made the switch. The car handled like it was a brand new car. It was quiet, responsive in rain and dry weather and during the Winter, I drove with confidence.

I bought these in September 2010 and am now ready to replace them (with the exact same make and model tires) in the first week of October 2014. Excellent, Excellent tires.

...In snow, these tires don't have a problem at all.

Even though these tires are grand touring all-season, they handled like high performances tires. Their response time is amazing and don't feel a thing on the highway. They drive so smooth and quiet. Finally got rid of those old tires (Falken 912) that had horrible road noise. In snow, these tires don't have a problem at all.

...These are by far the best handling tires I've ever driven on a Subaru. Even at speed, they provide reassuring feedback of steering and breaking inputs...

The Khumo Ecsta LX Platinum tires are a fantastic buy! I have only put a little more than 1,000 miles on them, so I cannot speak to tread wear. These are by far the best handling tires I've ever driven on a Subaru. Even "at speed," they provide reassuring feedback of steering and breaking inputs. Nothing is going to make my Forester drive like my BMW coupe, but these tires really make me appreciate the engineering of the suspension on a Forester. I suspect they will do the same for other every-day cars. It is hard to believe an $80 tire can handle so well.

I do plan to put my Nokian Hakkapeliittas back on once the snow gets serious, so please be sure to read the reviews of other owners if you plan on using these on snow covered roads.

An all around good tire. Decent wet weather traction, resistance to hydroplaning is great when tire has a moderate amount of tread left. Cornering is okay. Dry traction is decent.

I've had these tires on for around 10,000 miles and am very happy overall. When I had the tires installed in February, I was a little lukewarm about these tires, the tires did not like to corner at all, it felt like if I let go of the wheel while cornering the car would fling itself in the other direction. That went away after a couple thousand miles, I'm not sure if it was the cold late winter weather or just the tires breaking in. With that said, these tires have been excellent overall. They are tremendous in wet weather, as expected with their deep channels. Their performance in dry weather has been just as good, I've pushed them very hard and they've never made me feel unsafe. I can't comment on their snow/ice traction since I use dedicated snows in the winter, but I would buy these tires again in a second and would recommend them to anyone.

I have a little under 300 miles on these tires now and I am very impressed with how quiet they are on the road and how they absorb bumps in the road.

Driving on poor roads will be noisy and bumpy no matter what, but with these tires, it feels that they absorb the brunt of the impact well and even distribute some of that force to the other tires. Also, the noise they make on impact is much smoother tone than the loud THUD noise I got w/ the RSAs.

On most of the decent roads here in Southern California, I hear a quiet, soothing humming noise from the tires (which is much better than the goodyear RSAs). It's just like background noise that can be easily drowned out.

I now feel like I'm driving a LUXURY car (first and foremost) as opposed to a sports sedan with luxury features.

I'm glad I saved some money by opting for these Kumho's versus the Michellins. I'll definitely buy them again.

...The tires themselves are very quiet. Ride comfort is good on the highway but a little rough in the city but this is probably because I had the tire pressure up a few PSI for my long road trips...

I started looking into Kumho's after my local Import Auto shop told me I needed new tires and that they now sell Kumho's after only selling Michelin's for years. The owner found that they seemed to have the same quality of Michelin's but cheaper. Anyways, after searching extensively on Tire rack, I decided to go with the LX Platinums because of their overall ratings. It didn't seem like their were a lot of miles reported on these tires yet but I decided to go with them. Over the last 4 weeks I have driven about 4000 miles through 10 states. I really got to test how they would react in heavy and light rain. They held up very well. I did not feel at any point that was I starting to hydro plain (take for granted that I drive cautiously in the rain). The steering response is great. The tires themselves are very quiet. Ride comfort is good on the highway but a little rough in the city but this is probably because I had the tire pressure up a few PSI for my long road trips. So far so good!

...Tread wear has been excellent...

This is my 1st set of Kumho's and I have been very pleased. I have experienced exceptional wet performance. These are daily driver tires on a car that loves the corners. Tread wear has been excellent. Not much snow this winter and I always use snow tires anyway. Bang for the buck is excellent. No major faults. Only reason not a definite is who knows what will be available when I need my next set.

After 3 Rotations, and over 9,500 miles. These Kumhos have really surprised and surpassed all my expectations of them. The traction and grip is absolutely strong on the tires. The Treadway is nearly impossible to see. With my aggressive city (taxi) driving on some of the "not so great" streets/roads where I live is a testament to these tires. They make the SENSE and Solus look like economy tires. These are just plain out great tires, and the price puts then into the awesome category.

...I have 25K on these now and there's at least another 10K left in them. They still look great and have worn very evenly...

Overall I am pleased with this tire, especially in terms of noise, ride comfort, treadwear and value. My first 2 sets (OE BFG's and then Goodyears) barely lasted 15K miles (staggered fitment on the Sport package doesn't help). I have 25K on these now and there's at least another 10K left in them. They still look great and have worn very evenly.

However, I must say that I am disappointed in the performance in wet and wintry conditions. I wasn't expecting a miracle out of a rear drive sedan pushing 300+ HP, but tire spin often occurs in the rain under very moderate throttle from a stop or accelerating from low speeds. Wintry conditions are downright hairy (I'll stick to my Jeep). Once under way, I've had no issues with hydroplaning and they feel pretty stable. Ultimatley, the pros outweigh the cons for me and I wouldn't have any issue recommending the tire but I'd issue a word of caution to my fellow RWD drivers who may want to try something else.
