Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Pilot Super Sport is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire initially introduced as Original Equipment on several of the world's most sophisticated performance vehicles, including the exclusive, limited-edition Ferrari 599 GTO, Ferrari's fastest road car ever. Developed for drivers who care about how tire technology enhances their vehicle's performance and safety, Pilot Super Sport tires expand the Max Performance Summer tire performance envelope by delivering durability, handling and traction while increasing tread life.

Building on the development of racing tires designed to carry Prototype and GT class cars to endurance race victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 12 Hours of Sebring and Road Atlanta's Petit Lemans, Pilot Super Sport tires are designed to deliver consistent performance and longevity by blending Max Performance driving characteristics with extended tread wear.

While the importance of tire treadwear in endurance racing may not be immediately apparent, Michelin tires set records during the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010. One of the 2010 LMP Class leaders completed 46 consecutive laps on one set of tires with an average pace just 1% off of the pole position qualifying time. That's almost 400 racing miles on one set of tires at an average speed of 150 mph.

Additionally the overall winner used just 11 sets of tires to cover a record 3,362 miles, averaging nearly 140 mph and almost 300 racing miles per set of tires. That represented almost a 25% wear improvement compared to just one year earlier where the overall winner needed 14 sets of tires to cover 3,235 miles. By developing longer wearing racing tires without sacrificing performance, Michelin tires allowed the teams to run record race paces while converting some of the time previously spent changing tires in the pits into productive time covering more miles on the track.

While Pilot Super Sport tires are designed to allow sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans and supercars to achieve their full potential in dry and wet conditions, like all summer tires they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Pilot Super Sport features an asymmetric design molded of Michelin's Bi-Compound tread rubber featuring a Le Mans-inspired dry compound outboard side-by-side with their latest generation of wet compound inboard. The low-void outboard shoulder features a track-type compound to withstand the stresses of high performance cornering while the notched center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a compound designed for superior performance at very high speeds and in wet conditions.

The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound Twaron cord. Twaron is a polyamide cord that offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Michelin FAZ Technology (Filament At Zero degrees) winds the Twaron cord around the tire circumference much the same way fishing line is wound onto fishing reels to allow Michelin engineers to tune tension and strength. The Pilot Super Sport features a polyester casing to promote a comfortable ride and responsive handling.

Pilot Super Sport tires are comparatively light, with weight savings of up to 10% compared to other tires of similar dimensions. This reduces unsprung weight to improve handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results

...Handling and traction are excellent, even in wet conditions...

I couldn’t be happier with these new tires. The ride is noticeably smoother and quieter, and my car feels more stable and confident on the road—especially at highway speeds. Handling and traction are excellent, even in wet conditions. This was a great upgrade, and I’d absolutely recommend these tires to anyone looking for quality, comfort, and reliability.

These Kumho tires excel in that and haven't had any issues in wet conditions!...

These tires are great and definitely an upgrade from the Laufenn tires I had before in which were “sportier” and were supposed to be great on dry conditions. These Kumho tires excel in that and haven’t had any issues in dry or wet conditions! The only thing that I can negatively say about them is that the steering feel is very light and while it handles bumps and different pavement well, you can definitely “feel” what you are going over through your foot and steering wheel. Nonetheless, I say for the price these are great all season touring tires and have great performance in comfortability and reliability. Would 100% purchase again I would say these are above average for sure.

...It changed the ride and handling tremendously and I'm sure the wet handling and snow performance will meet the ratings posted...

I purchased the tires for my Sister in Laws Van.
She moved back from Florida and needed better tires for the all around conditions in the Northeast.
It changed the ride and handling tremendously and I’m sure the wet handling and snow performance will meet the ratings posted.
Wear ratings were very good so I’m sure they will be on it for a long time given here light driving schedule.
Thanks for having an awesome website where you can compare tire ratings and pricing to suit the needs of the customer and vehicle.
This vehicle needed a set of good all season tires but not the expense of the high end brands. The ones we picked are right in the middle between high end and the no name options.

...What was unexpected was decent traction in snow. This was true for the Subaru Sambar that they were on before the Daihatsu.

Kei trucks are not performance vehicles by any stretch, however these tires turned the truck from a golf-cart into a go-cart. Of course any good tire would have been an improvement over the stock truck tires. I've had (different model) Kumhos on my BMW Z3 and loved them so was optimistic on how they would do on a vehicle on the other end of the spectrum. I was impressed with the smooth ride and great cornering (for a mini-truck) on dry payment. What was unexpected was decent traction in snow. This was true for the Subaru Sambar that they were on before the Daihatsu.

...These tires deliver on all of these factors, in addition they are surprisingly good in light snow and rough ice. I do switch to dedicated winter tires for the 1/2 year that we have such conditions, but I got to try these in winter conditions before the changeover.

This size of tire reduces choices in the US to just a few tires. I tried these as the manufacturer is reputable and the cost was reasonable, also the focus on quiet ride and a smooth ride were high priorities. These tires deliver on all of these factors, in addition they are surprisingly good in light snow and rough ice. I do switch to dedicated winter tires for the 1/2 year that we have such conditions, but I got to try these in winter conditions before the changeover.

I drive a lot. Let's put it there. I also Uber and Lyft on the side. Anywho I got these tires in CT during the snow in January. In deep snow it was trash but manageable. On packed ice it was great not as bad as deep fresh snow. These tires were great in the slush and the rain afterwards. Now we are getting more rain and I feel completely safe and comfortable with these. I am on the spirited driver spectrum so do with that as you will. These tires are great for the money.

...When roads are dry the traction is good and the steering is responsive without pushing it through the corners...

Feels like a more expensive tire, really quiet.
I never push the car hard on wet conditions but it feels in control at speeds under 55 mph on the hwy
or 20-30 on city streets.
