The Quatrac 5 is Vredestein's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans, station wagons and crossover vehicles looking for confident performance in the dry and wet, plus premium light snow traction. The Quatrac 5 meets the industry's severe snow service requirements for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol and, as an all-weather tire, is designed to be a one-tire solution for drivers in environments that experience all four seasons, but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.
The Quatrac 5 features a high-silica tread compound molded into a multiple condition-focused, asymmetric pattern. The outboard shoulder and circumferential groove are designed for traction, handling and steering precision in dry and wet conditions, with low void ratio and large, stiff tread blocks. The inboard rib and inside shoulder are tuned for confident performance in wet and wintry conditions, with wide, circumferential grooves and lateral notches to evacuate water and slush from the contact patch, along with high-density, winter-focused zigzag sipes that help deliver the traction needed to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Internal construction of the Quatrac 5 consists of a single-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement aids in handling performance and provides high-speed durability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...The tire has response like a summer tire, traction like an all season in the rain and tractions like a snow tire in the winter...
Amazing tire. Probably the best I’ve ever had on a vehicle. I needed something with a snow rating and there were perfect for Virginia snows of 4-6 inches in the road. I didn’t get a chance to try anything deeper yet.
The grip for the summer is amazing as well. I really feel like Michelin hit the nail on the head with this tire. I strongly believe that you want the right tire for the right condition and with the Cross Climate 2 you really get the best of those conditions. The tire has response like a summer tire, traction like an all season in the rain and tractions like a snow tire in the winter. Which reminds me as well, the tire is softer than the stock tires on any of the rav4s that were out for the 2024 season.
I recommend this tire to anyone who can afford them, you can not go wrong AND you are making the best selection for 99.9 percent your driving experiences.

Great wet traction... It's worth it for the confidence in wet traction.
Great tires compared to my last set of a different well known brand. Great wet traction. There is a little bit more noise than my previous tires and I believe I get a little worse gas mileage according to my gauge but it’s pretty negligible overall. It’s worth it for the confidence in wet traction.

Customers overwhelmingly rate the CrossClimate2's winter traction as excellent, with most scoring 9s and 10s in snow and deep snow. Ice traction sees slightly lower scores (7-10 range), but drivers consistently praise confident grip in harsh winter conditions.

...It's now February and after 4 weeks of constant snow, sleet and ice I can confidently write this review claiming these may be the best tires offered for any car period... But this winter with these tires, I did not slip, slide or have any issues coming to a stop like I have with past tires. I tried several times to get 'spirited' in an empty icy parking lot and THEY WOULD NOT BREAK TRACTION...
These are single handedly the best tires I have ever purchased, ever. I was hesitant at first to buy such “premium” or “expensive” tires but they are well worth the extra money. I have 10,000 miles on them, as well as almost a full year, a spring, summer, fall and particularly grueling winter and so far you cannot tell that the tread has worn even a little bit. Where I live, throughout the year we get highs of 100 in the summer, and in winter we get below zero with 12+ inches of snowfall. It’s now February and after 4 weeks of constant snow, sleet and ice I can confidently write this review claiming these may be the best tires offered for any car period. The accord crosstour, while not having a world famous 4WD system will always do “okay” in snowy conditions. But this winter with these tires, I did not slip, slide or have any issues coming to a stop like I have with past tires. I tried several times to get “spirited” in an empty icy parking lot and THEY WOULD NOT BREAK TRACTION. It actually felt like I was cheating having these tires on. Not to mention the summer performance of these tires is phenomenal. There’s minimum road noise and you have a sense of “grounded” that, at least for me, I have never felt before. I have NOT hydroplaned once in these tires even when I definitely should have. I cannot rate these highly enough. I cannot recommend these tires enough. Go ahead and spend the extra $300. What you lose in money will be far compensated by the safety, reliability, stability, capability, and dependability of these tires.

...Drove ~ 2 hours through a mix of snow/sleet and eventually rain through central PA in early morning. Roads had not been cleared or well cared for. Tires performed well...
Posting this after only a couple hundred miles, so take the review FWIW. Found out my previous tires needed replacement after driving in wet conditions and hydroplaning even at relatively low speeds. Of course, this happened on Thanksgiving day. Once we got to our destination, I hopped onto TireRack.com and started researching. Found these were highly rated for wet conditions and placed an order. Got them installed a couple days later. Had to drive ~ 120 miles for a quick visit to family. Ride out was excellent in dry conditions. Ride home was more challenging. Drove ~ 2 hours through a mix of snow/sleet and eventually rain through central PA in early morning. Roads had not been cleared or well cared for. Tires performed well. Seem fine around town as well. So far, so good!

...Dry traction over the OEM has much more grip.
Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires replaced the OE Falken Wildpeak H/T’s. The Wildpeak H/T’s were barely 24,000 miles but severely worn. The directional tread pattern of the Michelin tires complements the Trailhawk SUV with some style while at the same time does not look like a generic street tire. Cross Climate 2’s benefits were immediately noticeable.
Dry traction over the OEM has much more grip. I have not noticed a change in fuel economy. I still average 30-32 MPG on highway trips to and from work. There is no noticeable tire noise or droning in town or on the highway. The Cross Climate 2 tracks better on the road than the old Wildpeak H/T tires.
After driving in 11 inches of snow, I am impressed with the tires and how the Compass Trailhawk handles the snowpack, deep snow and slick spots. In 4x4 mode with 8-11 inches of snow in the area, the tires are fully capable of safely traveling at a reasonable pace.
I have driven many tire brands over 46 years and have always had good results from Michelin tires. I would recommend the Cross Climate 2’s for anyone who wants one tire capable of handling all four seasons and who does not plan to purchase a dedicated winter/snow tire for winter months.

...great for launching, great for stopping on dry traction...
I have used these tires in Toyota Corolla and went through light ice and rain no problem. I sized up on my 2022 Miata MX5 they are very responsive and way better than the factory tires. great tires at launching, great for stopping on dry traction. There is a bit of road noise. Too new to fully rate with just under 10K in mileage.

For the wife’s daily, where she drives a bunch for work often in rain, these tires are great.

...Hopefully they will last a lot longer than the 24000 or so that the Pirellis lasted...
I downsized from BMW 19" staggered wheels to a square 18" package assembled by Tire Rack. I was concerned about noise, but the CC2 tires are no noisier than the Pirelli Zero all seasons they replaced. This is an electric vehicle, and the silence is a wonderful feature. Hopefully they will last a lot longer than the 24000 or so that the Pirellis lasted. Mainly, hoping they have better wet and snow traction. Too soon to tell. For daily driving, there is very little difference in the handling. It suggests to me that BMW should offer more wheel and tire options to buyers. Kudos to the Tire rack staff in guiding me on this purchase.
